Happy New Year! edit

  A noiseless patient spider,
I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark'd how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch'd forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be form'd, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul."

Sri Lanka edit

Hi there. You may notice that Sri Lanka has been semi-protected for sometime now. I was informed on the protect/unprotect page that you may have instated the block (although I cannot find that information myself). Can you unprotect it for our unregistered editors. Hey Bln edit

How have you been? First off, I wish you a very merry xmas and a happy new year! I need your help with Bookman1 (talk · contribs) who turns the Madhuri Dixit page into a fansite (she is charismatic, ain't she?). No warnings help. And he's been doing it for quite a few days. I gave him a last warning and now waiting for admin action.

The other user is Bigsuperindia (talk · contribs) who's been adding totally irrelevant info on the lead of the Bollywood article in violation of WP:LEAD, WP:UNDUE and WP:CON. Blofeld and I have tried to explain him the matter, but he keeps edit warring. I started a talk page discussion discussing his edits and explaining why they are totally irrelevant, but he is also harrassing me on my talk page. I request your help on that as well. Thanks, ShahidTalk2me 00:11, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

can't say I liked Madhuri Dixit at all, although the only two films I saw of her were Devdas (turned off b efore the end) and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (fast forwarded apart from the silly Salman bits, lol). Apart, from that, hadn't seen any Indian films in the last six months, except 3 Idiots the other day. Bollywood died down so nothing there. Talked to the other fellow YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, friend, and welcome back. I'm now extensively discussing on the Bollywood talk page. Some guy claims that the Hindi film industry is actually also in Urdu (the use of Urdu words is minor and is as frequent as the use of English!) and wants to add Urdu scripts to all the Hindi film articles. Ohh tiresome. ShahidTalk2me 00:21, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Where did the BCCI approve it? And once something is on Wikipedia it is only allowed if it can be reused and repackaged willy-nilly which the BCCI would not like. Also, a logo is not needed to understand the cricket team as it is about the players not the BCCI itself YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bradman edit

I know you don't usually bother with lists, but could you make an exception for Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of international cricket centuries by Donald Bradman/archive1, since he was part of The Invincibles? Also, a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Cheers, Dabomb87 (talk) 17:21, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well I see it's already there. Personally, I always like a lot of meat on them if possible, giving detail on the records etc attached with some of his iconic centuries, of which there were lots, rather than just the bare canonical stats and mechanical prose (my first two FLs had chunks of prose), but I think it's easier to simply stay out of the way now that it's there since I'm greatly in the majority. I've blocked all Xero675 (talk · contribs), Logic65 (talk · contribs), Flashingligjhets (talk · contribs) as socks of NP. He's saying that he'll stop creating new accounts if we also block the socks of Mrpontiac1 (talk · contribs), I have no idea about this Mrpontiac, never come across, so YM, can you take a look on that? I've semi-protected a few pages, but there are obviously some others that need it. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 17:32, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe him. He's made it plain clear over the past months I've dealt with him that he will not stop until "Indian POV pushing and trash" stops. Why else is he creating some of these socks? He'll come back with a new sock with a new reason or none at all, just to further his agenda. Elockid (Talk·Contribs) 19:56, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe him either, just hoping that it might lead to "less" accounts to block! -SpacemanSpiff 20:10, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Netted Mrpontiac. He's all in a neat pile together. Of course, Nangparbat won't ever lay down his arms as long as there are Indians walking the earth. We still need more people on the lookout for his sorts of edits. Most people on WP:INDIA don't seem to care or have no watchlist much YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
WP:India is pretty much dead these days, not much activty except for a few articles, and too many absurdities to handle. Chennai set to expand in 2011, so IP warriors have started making it the third largest city, there's a German IP questioning the validity of New Delhi as the capital and the usual casteist/regional drivel to handle. I just short-term blocked Chola yadava (talk · contribs), does he seem familiar? BTW, I've expanded the history section of Flag of India and condensed the other stuff. Any other content/referencing changes you'd like to see? I still have to run it through a thorough copy-edit. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 03:15, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Off the top of my head I can't see an obvious candidate for a sock, although with the junk edits too many people just sit around waiting for someone else to clean up the junk. For content on Flag of India, Abecedare will know. Do you think the posture of the statue looks rather odd? A tennis overhead style smash? with that footwork? YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 03:32, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
BTW, I protected Symmo for a month, too much junk on that over the weekend. Yeah, it's strange, especially with that caption "known for his footwork"! cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 03:44, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
He also seems to not be looking at the ball, and was more known for savaging the bowlers in duststorms and against Bodyline than being a light-footed stylist. Yeah, most current biogs are written by anons adding random bits and they are never made coherent :( YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 03:49, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Coming to think of it, it looks rather like this image of Shiva. BTW, quite a few cricket FLs now, I'm still lagging on taking the women's Test centuries, need to expand the lede on that one. And Johnson scoring more than the top five combined? -SpacemanSpiff 06:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, some of the top five played very recklessly, and Johnson is competent. IIRC Pathan scored about 25-30 in the T20 match at the MCG in early 2008 and the Motera Test against RSA when India made 70-odd. Still Pakistan did a good job of trying to return Australia's charity by throwing all their wickets away in the last session just as the pitch was flattening out. Though Australia are now batting pretty badly as well. They should bring in Hodge, although the other players probably don't like him or something.... YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I know some folks who bragged to me off-wiki that FLs only take 3 hours and are good value for political capital because a lot of people think they were really hard or substantial. If you do something that doesn't need creating redlinks and only has a few entries in the table it shouldn't take long :). Espically if you can copy it out of a book and use shorthand cites rather than filling in 30+ CI webcites YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:02, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
With India, it tends to be common, although a little less over the past few years, I just can't seem to accept that from the Aussies. Yeah, Hodge might be a good option. For this game, it looks like Pakistan might end up with around 120 over five sessions, if Hussey manages to keep strike for an hour at least.
It's true about the FLs, the ODI one took a lot less time because most of the redlinks were done with on the Test list. Now with this all Test centuries lists, there were players, and there are grounds, so that's been a pain. Once this is done, the five-for list should be pretty straightforward. CA has changed their format and their tables look a bit better, so it's probably going to be easier to cite them instead of CI. Especially as their women's stats is more comprehensive. Just that their old format was too difficult to use for summary tables. Another easy thing to do is to actually export the CI or CA tables to Excel and do the formatting and then it's a 10 second conversion to wikitable with proper sort, I didn't think of that for the centuries list, will do that for the five-fors.-SpacemanSpiff 07:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Help with the Pakistan cricket team page? edit

As I can see from your page, you have lots of experience in editing cricket articles. Could you help me determine a criteria by which to determine players' notability? That is to say, whether they deserve to be noted on a page, where there is only room for at most 20 out of 1000 players. Any idea what they, in general should have achieved in terms of stats or records etc. It'd be much appreciated. BTW, I did try and start a discussion about this (as that is supposed to be the preferred process), but i don't think there are going to be many discussers. Regards. bigforrap (talk) 16:15, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Did you go to WT:CRIC? I don't know about the Pakistani team except in the last 15 years, but listing Fawad Alam there when he averages less than half a wicket per match and when Shoiab Malik hardly wants to bowl anymore is unusual. Maybe Afridi and Razzaq should be there but there were never regulars for any period of time, at least not in Tests. One way is to look up halls of fame, lists of expert polls to see who gets a few votes. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 23:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I guess when Cricinfo do their all time bexst XI noms for each country, they will normally nominate 5-6 people from each category. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 23:55, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

A block discussion at ANI edit

Hello YellowMonkey. At WP:ANI#Why ArbCom? I've made an argument for a two-month block in a case involving an editor for whom you had proposed a 1RR. (The block that I am proposing would be lifted if he will join in discussions). The main proponents of the action are thinking of taking the editor's behavior to Arbcom, if no action can be agreed at ANI. Either a 1RR or a block would meet the need, I believe, and resorting to Arbcom seems like a waste of resources in a fairly straightforward case. It seems possible that my block proposal may wind up being the last uncontradicted suggestion in the thread. Though I'm willing to take the action, it would be good to have at least one admin chime in on its advisability. Can you advise whether this is the right thing to do? Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 15:58, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hm, I just saw a glimmer of hope appear at User talk:Badagnani#1RR and other comments. I would wait and see how that turns out before blocking, anyway. EdJohnston (talk) 16:06, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wish a good book was written about Lara (equal second favourite cricketer after Ponting and with Warne), as the article is horrible! WI cricket articles seriously lacking. Garry Sobers has a good auto so might do some bits on him. Will be another idea that will last a week before I move onto something else, lol - might have to slow my contribs down - getting a bit tired - a break might do the trick :) Aaroncrick (talk) Review me! 10:14, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's more interesting decades after they stop retiring, as past acrimony has faded into the past, or they don't have to be worried about being dropped or not being elected to some post at the age of 70, as they then will speak their mind. In Haigh's Summer Game a lot of the old guys speak out about Bob simpson being a tyrannical and hostile captain or Lawry being dull and tactically morbid. If things are really bitter, eg Tiger and Bradman, they recorded interviews witht eh NLA and kept it under lock and key until everyone was dead. I wonder if in 40 years everyone will start talking about Ponting in Nagpur YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 14:34, 21 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Imagine if Australia lost the Pak Test! Aaroncrick (talk) 06:43, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well they should've although I don't think anyting dramatic happened. On another note I had no idea that Ponting's average in the last three years has only been about the 27th best in the world. Still, do you think Brayshaw is biased when he commentates on the odd T20 because Ponting is his #1 ticketholder, because he always harps on about Ponting being the best and doesn't talk about the actual play that much. At least he doesn't carry on aboutt he umpires and referees persecuting Ponting or any of that. I wonder what Eddie was like when he was commentating on the Pies. Taylor is very good considering that he's on the CA board, his commetnary doesn't indicate any vested interest. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 01:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can you semi-pp? An IP keeps removing images saying it's non-neutral etc. I'm a content contributor. Hussey back to his old self? I didn't expect that result! cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 06:51, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Done. Hussey was dropped three times by K Akmal off Kaneria. Kaneria even joked about it after the Third Day "Once is ok. Twice is ok. Three times is too much" And Pakistan's tailenders just tried to slog everything without getting behind the line of the ball. North will probably get dropped first though, now that he is slumping although how he got in in the first place is surprising as his FC record isn't good. Pity for Hodge he retired although they probably wouln't have picked him anyway. I bet it is because he moans a lot. He moans a lot about being ripped off to the media and seems to moan in the nets too, when I was there yesterday watching Victoria. Maybe he annoys his teammates and Ponting. Funny too I was the only person there, and with no mums and dads and kids there, the players don't feel compelled to refrain from swearing. Or maybe they can't be bothered because no journalists were there... YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:06, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I didn't realize that. I just looked at the scoresheets, didn't read the bulletins and wasn't following the commentary closely. Either way, I think it'll probably help his confidence! Feel sorry for Kaneria though. Are you going for the Adelaide ODI? -SpacemanSpiff 07:25, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't think I would want to pay to watch Pakistan or the West Indies...I'll be there for the nets though. Yesterday I wasn't paying much attention and just started taking photos of the middle net and by the time I'd finished with the spinners in the middle, Nannes and Clint McKay had already stopped bowling in the second net, so no action photos of them. They were only there for about 30 minutes total. Did get photos of Hodge, Andrew McDonald, Glenn Maxwell, Jon Holland and some other guys although some of them don't appear to match any portraits on Cricinfo. Darren Pattinson was there too although I didn't know what he looked like until I checked CI. The SA team were there but none of the regular players were training, only some 19-20 yo bench players and some other youth squad players. As for fielding, Victoria were all taking turns on the boundary rope practising how to catch, juggle, toss up and fall back and recatch. Should cut up the photos, maybe start the annual photo poll. It seems like it's pretty routine now to practice the juggling. I wonder if India and Pakistan do that. Probably not :) Not Munaf anyway.... YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Nets are good at the MCG. Have you been on a tour of the ground? Aaroncrick (talk) 11:19, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Never been to Aus, so I can't say much about them :) I used to go running at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium when I was a kid and also played squash there regularly. Run with W. V. Raman a couple of times, but then practice facilities in India weren't that great and nets weren't exactly the best, but by Indian standards, the nets and dressing room were pretty good then. Haven't been back since the Aus-NZ qtr final of '96. -SpacemanSpiff 00:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hodge moaned about a crater about 50cm in front of the crease every 2 minutes and swore a lot about it. As for security, non-existent. We could make some news if we wanted to. I did take a photo of the new grandstand currently under consturction. It'd be funny if SA made it to the Champions League, as NSW and Vic would do the best when all the internationals are available. I went to Vic twice, as a kid in late-95, and in early-2006 both for a week as part of groups for other purposes, so I couldn't take a wander. As for 1995, Footscray and the adjecent suburbs was and still is full of nasty looking gangsters and punks even in broad daylight even when you're walking in a group. I don't think poor Nitin Garg helped himself by walking through a park at night where its easier for an assailant to hide in a shrub. YellowMonkey (bananabucket!) 01:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Have a feeling that Hodge moans about a lot of things. Perth is full of graffiti, with a lot of drunken folks taking advantage of the warm evenings, by walking around off their faces in the outer beach-side suburbs. Surprised how "backwards" the city is. The airport is dreadful - just a bigger version of the old Launceston Airport and it was like a ghost town in late December, nothing was open at all! Even Melbourne was dead on Christmas Day - no one was even at Flinders Street Station - a lot different than on Boxing Day before the Test. Aaroncrick (talk) 01:49, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The old Adelaide airport had small dirty windows, a dark terminal, dark carpet, very dispiriting. And a very low discoloured seiling. Perth was a lot better ca 2001. Even NYC is quiet on Xmas except people looking at the window toy displays and the ice skating YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Adelaide's supposed to be the best in Aus now - never been there though. Hell, Launceston has only just got baggage carousels! Very hard to find places to stay in Perth, like Tasmania and probably Adelaide. Subiaco Oval and the WACA Ground are both very old and in need of a spruce up, so a way to go for Perth yet. A lot of construction going on now though. Aaroncrick (talk) 02:43, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes in 2001, got taken to the UWA lab where they wired up Murali and Akhtar and they demonstrated the wires and stuff and the projective geometry. It was a science engagement there and since UWA sponsored it we were treated to an obligatory tour of their sports science labs and all that, which in all honesty wasted a lot of time from the real work we were supposed to be doing, same as the day trip to their bioscience measurement station on Rottnest Island, and we got lost on a rather hot day in 2001. Nice and picturesque uni though. Freo is nice too although we only sat there for the ferry. Didn't go to Cottesloe, this was just after teh shark ate a man there. Over 3RR, but I'm involved. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 00:36, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

All hits. I've now indeffed Kalarimaster and rangeblocked him. When folks are not yet indeffed I always leave the IPs unblocked. Leaving a big gap to tempt them to hit against the spin, so to speak YellowMonkey (bananabucket!) 01:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ah, yes. Naadapriya started out ok first, then by the 30th edit, it came out, MS is Kannadiga. I seriously can't figure out if he's POV pushing or just plain trolling. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 01:39, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have to wait for some other guy to come bak fo revert Crescat. You're spent :(. Hmm Dhoni and Sehwag are spending even more time on Kohli than G chappell did on Raina. Raina's only had 4 innings in the last two series and none of them started before the 30th over. During the 2007-08 tour of Australia Karthik only played one T20, Tiwary one ODI and Raina nothing at all, what a waste of time when they could have been playing FC. The only thing they did was to abuse the sub rule to get three good fielders but the long term loss was almost certainly larger. Wonder if Dhoni will let Raina and Rohit have more of a go tonight YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 02:28, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, that's why I'm ignoring it. These two FAs (Tamil people and Tamil language) have been left as orphans since Sundar and Arvind/Vadakkan aren't active, so I'm just babysitting them, and none of the regulars seem to be doing that. It's a little easier with the C-Class articles as there's multiple POV pushers trying to counter each other, but the regular POVers avoid FAs and GAs. Sigh.
I don't know what the fascination with Kohli is. He delivers on these Bangladesh pitches and will get to be a regular. Raina and Rohit just don't seem to be lucky enough. Rohit's a good grooming exercise, he's got his faults but I think he can be groomed to be a very good 1/2 drop for Tests and he needs some ODIs, even if he doesn't do well. -SpacemanSpiff 02:52, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you're interested in teh Tamil stuff you might as well overhaul those FAs. Venu62 wrote a few in his day, great editor. As for India articles, there's never enough people interested at the grassroots. In 2006 there were lots of FAs but standards were very low in those days, and lots of editors had a "FA or nothing" approach and thought that getting a 2006 era FA guaranteed NPOV and that getting a FA was the only means of getting NPOV. As for Kohli, I don't know what these innings on supposedly unprecedentedly wet outfields proves. Karthik also scored very quickly in his cameos in the last 5 or so matches relative to his career and against a Murali/Malinga-less SL, I don't see why Karthik, Raina or Rohit couldn't also score a century at 100+ SR in that puddle. I do expect that they will punt Raina from the last batting pos when SRT comes back. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 03:19, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've been meaning to take a stab at Tamil people, but just haven't had the time yet. I know for sure I can't do anything with Tamil language except clean up POV and vandalism, but Arvind did a rewrite based on Swedish language which was at FAR in 2007, so it should be close to fairly good standards. I just hope Raina doesn't go the Kaif way. Kohli is very likely to go the Kambli way though, very similar characters both of them. -SpacemanSpiff 04:44, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, a lot of 2007 and 2008 FAR saves weren't close to contemporary standards of the day at all, sometimes nobody bothered reviewing so they were closed default keep despite obvious things that could be seen in five minutes. Also, I dunno what the similarity with Kaif is except UP although I only just saw that Kaif's FC average is only 40, which is very poor. Raina does have a lot more shots than Kaif, who did sometimes occupy the crease a long time when India were crippled in a few Tests. As for Ikonoblast, he has a few other blocks under Holywarrior, as in the old days the block log didn't move during a name change. A colourful fellow he was. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 05:14, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'll do a bit of clean up on TL, I think it's ok right now, not as bad as some of the other FAs like Flag of India etc. Isn't Linguisticgeek (also on the same topic as Ikonoblast) that Princeofdark or something? Did he finish his time? They're both fighting it out on a few articles, but it appears that currently linguisticgeek is following policy properly. Naadapriya is back on my talk page anyway. So much fun! Raina - Kaif comparison is more in terms of the chances they've gotten early on in their career. Both have always been treated like bridesmaids. Kaif always took a backseat to Yuvi and Raina now to Kohli. Of course in terms of talent, they're quite different. -SpacemanSpiff 08:02, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seems rather pointless to haul Rohit over and not let him play. If they already decided not to give him a go, they should have let him go back to playin the Ranji final. I should check LG and PoD. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 08:10, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

LG only uses on static IP, which I blocked last year for 6 months as an IP of a banned user, but the IP doesn't ring a bell. Pod doesn't exist, according to CU YellowMonkey (bananabucket!) 08:24, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
this is the one I meant, I wasn't around for the original, but spent a bit of time reverting the new one. Probably all these different spelling variations. -SpacemanSpiff 08:29, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Can you take a look at getting back the rangeblock on Naadapriya? He's back as 76.212.9.54 (talk · contribs) and now accusing me of being involved, when all I've done is revert him per the community ban. It's a waste of time. -SpacemanSpiff 17:01, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I checkusered that range the other day adn it's too busy. Banned users are equivalent to vandals so it doesn't matter if you're banned. And yes, many other subcontinental admins keep their tools for show so waiting for a pure outsider might take a while and isn't necessary. It's always been like that. I can remember some cases where there were 6+ admins who all unanimously agreed on a flagrant troll but they all wanted the other to press the button (sometimes they encouraged others to do illegal blocks for them though lol). Don't be like those, as long as you aren't cheating YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 01:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Abecedare took care of it this time and once before, but generally no one else appears to have his articles watchlisted. I wouldn't have noticed him except for the fact that he came on the MS article, likewise, I have no clue about the other Purandara Dasa article except for the fact that he brought it up on my talk page that I'm "against" him on that one. He passed by unnoticed before his ban, and since then too. -SpacemanSpiff 01:48, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Spoonfeeding Kohli on another dew-filled pitch against weak bowlers while giving Raina and Jadeja no oxygen with the bat hmm hmm hmm. Jadeja will find himself in a crunch situation with the bat sooner or later in a big game, or do they think Kohli is so good they will never be 5 down in a tricky situation YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 01:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, this is getting a bit tiring. I haven't seen what's "so good" about Kohli yet. It's not like he's the next Tendulkar or Sehwag or something to deserve all this extra compared to the rest of the chaps. Jadeja has to bank on Warnie once a year for his development! -SpacemanSpiff 01:48, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Just checked CI. Raina has scored about 1400 runs at 43, SR 94 since being recalled. And even Roebuck has shortlisted Kohli and Ishant on his 13 young stars of the future on CI. They're all from 1986 onwards. No mention of Pujara, Jadeja, Rahane, Mukund, Henriques, Ojha, Raina, Rohit. Interesting he didn't say Usman Khawaja when he has written articles about the guy; good tough grafter. 48 FC in Australia is comparable to 55 in India due to the really poor attacks some states have. Can hardly think of any decent young guys in Australia, the average FC age is so old. For a 23-yo I don't think Guptill is much good. Even his FC average in NZ is below 30. Well at least he wasn't like those clowns who were trumpeting Warner for Tests before he had even played FC. Oh, he also didn't list Hughes in there, so he thinks he won't be able to make a comeback, or less of a comeback than Ishant. Interesting YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:11, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
His community ban discussion is here and he is on the list of banned users. The same behavior is evidenced at the community ban discussion where he's gone ahead accusing everyone who reverted/blocked him of being involved. -SpacemanSpiff 15:09, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Emailed arbcom with the diffs, awaiting non-member email post approval. Another century for SRT, draw or do you think India can win? -SpacemanSpiff 02:59, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Heh, if it is a washout then India's ranking goes down because the computer deems them not good enough to finish off Bangladesh. They could lose I guess, but I doubt it. Bangladesh play spin to at least a basic level of competence, but the batsmen are very excitable and not steady, especially if there is some pace to rattle them. So if Sree and Ishant get some pace they might distract them, or if there is some swing, Pathan in 2004 lol. Too bad India don't have a Shaun Tait; not a great bowler at all and might give away 50 runs in ten overs, but could buy 60-90 minutes of time with a stack of quick wickets. I wonder what happened to Kamran Khan since he got reported. More discussion down below with Aaron, and the arbs might read this section, so let's not clutter it for them. Ghost edit

So? The book is a auto and the NLA only mentions Gilly as the author, as does the front cover and the book information inside. I'm sure a lot of auto's have help from another author - even Steve Waugh's. There's not source to prove it's been ghost written anyhow. It's not like McGrath's where we know Daniel Lane wrote it. Aaroncrick (talk) 09:01, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well I guess I could change to "with help from" and source his acknoweldgements, although he's copping his own flak for stirring the pot to sell more books, so it's his own problem if Knox wrote nonsense and he didn't bother to check YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 01:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Have you read it? I feel the accusations from sections of the media were fully blown out of context and he just said what he really thought. No one mentions how he wrote that Murali was a good bloke, ect. Aaroncrick (talk) 07:59, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I read the Murali and Monkeygates carefully. As well as all the walking bits Yes, the Murali thing was taken out of context and maybe he should have clarified himself in interviews sooner. Still did you take photos of the cricket and stuff in WA? I should go to the nets before the T20 final. Can't believe Tasmania choked it. YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 08:22, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sort of took photos - don't know how they came out (If any). Tassie was embarrassing! Could not believe it! Aaroncrick (talk) 08:45, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you had a window seat you can just take photos of everything from the sky. I did, some parts of picture are blurred if you look carefully because of the dirty window but in can work YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 09:20, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Did you go to the Tassie match? Aaroncrick (talk) 09:24, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, I thought it might rain as well. I'll be going to the nets again for Aus, Pak, WI, T20, Tour Down Under. Did you see Clarkey use the words "Pakis" when he was interviewed by Simone Thurtell before the start of the SCG Test when it was raining? YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 09:32, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, so I suppose it's now being described as a racist slur? Man, Imagine if it was Ponting not Clarke who is popular in the media! Aaroncrick (talk) 09:36, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
No, nobody noticed it. I just thought to myself when he said that "will anyone notice?" but apparently not, unlike Prince Harry's home video YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 03:52, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

(Moving WA bit down here) A lot of sharks were seen about a week ago in WA - didn't go to the beach though; too many bloody blood thirsty flies. At least you would be used to the heat coming from Adelaide :) Big shock from New York! I wonder if they'll get more than 5,000 for the cricket in Hobart tomorrow? - Lol. That would be a big crowd for Bellerive. It will also be bitterly cold because they had had 37 on Monday and 34 on Tuesday which is hot for Hobart. I'd hate to play cricket down there! Here's bad enough - at least it doesn't get too hot for long boring days in the field! Aaroncrick (talk) 10:02, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan's tactics are pathetic! Aaroncrick (talk) 06:42, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pretty dull, but somehow Australia managed to score a bit unlike Nagpur. Well, the RAnji Trophy looks interested 73 to win. 4 wickets in hand YellowMonkey (bananabucket) 07:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
