M S Subbulakshmi and T P Kailasam edit

Kannada is not mother tongue of Subbulakshmi. Hence removed the name in that language.

T P Kailasam - fixed the tamil spelling. If you are using some tool to generate such names, please note that the English spelling will not give correct pronunciation in other languages! Anyway, in his case, do we need both Tamil and Kannada names?

Copy discussions removed from MS Subbulakshmi article by SpacemanSpiff by mistakenly concluding that I am Naadapriya edit

MS's mother tongue is Kannada(Please See). Therefore her name should also appear in Kannada in the lead as per Wikipedia best practices.Kandasa (talk) 02:56, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

On a search on the net I find many sites stating Kannada and equally many stating Tamil. Hence we should look for reliable sources for this change. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 17:57, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sites refers to songs she sang in Tamil not biography. MS sang in all Indian languages. She is from Tamil Nadu but of Kannada origin. Please remove your revert.Kandasa (talk) 20:24, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Not yet. The site is not exactly a quality source and is often copied from Wikipedia see this unsourced info in this article from 2007, nothing in reliable sources says she's of Kannada origin, and Shanmuka Adiver Ammal is not a Kannada name! -SpacemanSpiff 20:41, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
In South India names are common among states. For example, 'Vasu', 'Subbulakshmi' etc..Kandasa (talk) 00:15, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Current revision as of 00:53, 11 January 2010Reply
