The reason I asked was that you posted it to User talk:85.154.20.244. It looked like you were trying to warn him about his little vandalism spree; I just wasn't sure what template you had in mind! If you want to just get rid of Template:Peurile, the quickest way is to add {{db-author}} to the top of it. That template says "Oops! I created this page by mistake. speedy deletion for Template:Puerile4

I don't agree with the proposed speedy deletion of this template. It is a warning to users who have committed serious vandalism to articles that is probably "divisive and inflammatory" in itself. -- Robert 05:10, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Regardless of how vitriolic the vandalism committed by a user to whom a warning is issued, warning templates should be written in civil language. Describing a user's edits as "puerile" borders on a violation of Wikipedia:No personal attacks, and is entirely unnecessary in any case, as template:blatantvandal is quite adequate for warning users who commit serious acts of vandalism. Nonetheless, if you disagree with this proposed speedy deletion, you are welcome to add <noinclude>{{Hangon}}</noinclude> to the template, and to describe why the template shouldn't be deleted on its talk page. I understand that policy, but I don't think that describing vandalism as "puerile" constitutes a personal attack. Describing vandalism as "puerile" might not actually amount to a personal attack. Indeed, I've seen editors use stronger language in their reports on WP:AIV. However, the language employed in templates placed on user talk pages is held to a high standard of civility, since the templates will be issued to a large number of users. A description of vandalism as "puerile" could be seen involving a user's personal character, by asserting that the user is "puerile". User inquiries

Hi Robert!

I'm probably the editor on Wikipedia who cares least about edit counts (they just don't measure anything useful IMHO) but I think most people use Interiot's wannabe Kate's tool for general edit counts.

As for when an account was created, for users created after (I think) December 2004, if you go to their logs (User page > User contributions link > Logs) there's a log for "User creation". More useful, perhaps, is first edit date - to find this, go to the contribs and click "oldest". At the bottom of the list is the first edit they made.

Reversion of edits

Earlier you reverted these edits here [1] and [2]. I was wondering if you had any particular reason why because I was following the Wikipedia:Citation templates format and updating the article. Personally I don't see any reason why these edits were reverted and would like to know why they were changed because in my point of view those edits expand on the citations used and follow wikipedia policy. I'm not sure what happened but what seems most likely is that I was trying to revert this vandalism (using User:Lupin's Anti-vandal tool and User:Gwernol beat me to it, and for some reason the tool did not alert me that someone had already reverted it. Although I do agree that I should not have Included the "Dirty monkey fornication with john davis" My edit was not entirely incorrect. I am in choir at my school and we sing that song. My choir director, whom I might add is an expert on this particular style of music explained to my class that the song actually does depict the two engaging in sex at the end... I will be editing the song back to a more appropriate version of what I have just said and I will NOT stand for it being called vandalizing. First of all, I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your edit. As you probably know or might have guessed, Wikipedia must maintain a strict policy on vandalism; you can read about it here. While your edits may not have actually been vandalism, as I was watching the recent changes I saw them and quickly had to pass a judgment on whether or not they were vandalism -- since, as you would imagine, Wikipedia gets quite a bit of vandalism -- and whether to revert them. In doing so I may have acted a bit too hastily. That said, your edits do fail the test of being constructive. Whether or not it is actually true that the song portrays the two having sex at the end, it is not appropriate for Wikipedia to describe it in the way that you did. Simply noting "the song actually does depict the two engaging in sex at the end," as you wrote above, would be fine. Calling it "dirty monkey fornication with john davis" is, to me and I think most other Wikipedians, an addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia (the official definition of vandalism). Now, I hope you decide that you like Wikipedia and perhaps create an account, become a regular editor of Wikipedia, and join our community; we'd be happy to have you. -- Robert ^See Hear _Speak 07:12, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

If you didn't make those edits, they were probably made by a different person who had your IP address. Many Internet Service Providers rotate or change the IP addresses of their customers, and you were assigned one that had been used by a vandal to edit that page and was subsequently warned by me. BlastOButter is (or was, I'm not sure) a brand of popcorn, and I just thought it sounded silly. I (of course) deduced from there that it would make a great screenname for AIM, and then I used it for my email address and Wikipedia, and it has stuck.

Aye aye. I was dreading it because such "list of" articles have a TON of redirects to fix, and this was no exception. (I also had to go to sleep and haven't been on the Internet until now.) Transplanting personal messages

I stole the idea from elsewhere. I don't think the person I stole it from (whose identity I can't remember) was a particularly frequent editor, but he or she did enough for me to notice their presence on here. More than anything else it aids my memory and defragments the discussion while being able to keep it all one one talk page without annoying anyone and giving them the freedom to respond on whichever page they feel necessary.
