Draft: Brainee

Can you help me move this draft Draft: Brainee to Wikipedia mainspace Not23 (talk) 13:46, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

@Not23: I'm afraid I will not be able to help you move the draft to mainspace. I did a Google search of Brainee and do not see him being discussed in reliable secondary sources. Apart from promotional links to his music, I was only able to find an interview he did with Jaguda and a review of his EP Chapter 1. The Jaguda interview is a primary source and cannot be used to establish notability. Pulse Nigeria's review of his EP is actually a good source, however, Wikipedia's notability guidelines require multiple secondary sources. I believe Brainee can become notable in the near future if he continues to release quality music and get some form of recognition by way of awards and nominations.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 15:11, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I am Lamba and i also represent Joeboy. the bio edited is not promotional. It is a proper extended profile written by the team. You can check Justin Bieber bio for reference Please leave the edit as it is.

Thank you

@Belly Lamba: The text you added to the article contains promotional wording. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a platform to promote and glorify artists. If you revert my edit again, I am going to report you for edit warring. As a member of Joeboy's team, you have a conflict of interest and should not be editing the article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 19:52, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Edit on Brymo's page

Thank you for all you do. However, can Brymo be listed as an Independent artiste, because he is currently not signed to any record label. He is only signed to a management deal with THE BAIL MUSIC COMPANY; not record deal. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blarque (talkcontribs) 09:22, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

@Blarque: Thanks for the clarification. I can definitely make this particular edit.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:27, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi Versace... Brymo has unveiled artwork and track list for the "Yellow" album. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blarque (talkcontribs) 22:17, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Blarque: I saw the track listing and cover art on Instagram. I can't wait to hear the album man. Brymo is my favorite Nigerian musician. Once the album gets critically reviewed, I am going to create a separate article about it. Right now, there aren't many sources available online to support a separate article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:34, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Draft: Black Magic (Yemi Alade Album)

Please help prepare draft Menneth (talk) 08:42, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

@Menneth: I just edited the draft. I am working on other articles right now and can't expand the draft until I complete what I need to complete. This particular article is on my to-do-list; I do intend on creating an article about the album.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 14:09, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

@Menneth: I'm actually working on the Woman of Steel article. You should work on the Black Magic album; I can clean it up before you move it to mainspace. BTW, I disagree with you on not being able to access sources overtime. A lot of sources can be retrieved via Wayback Machine.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 06:22, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Ok, Let's go for it then Menneth (talk) 07:16, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Yemi Alade

Kindly apply the changes effected on Yemi Alade by me because it's authentic, not withstanding that the changes messed up the article Menneth (talk) 05:53, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

@Menneth: I can definitely expand the awards and nominations section. Yemi Alade has won and been nominated for way more awards than that.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 06:24, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, You can as well create another article for that Menneth (talk) 07:15, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Menneth: The Yemi Alade article definitely needs expansion. Once that happens, a separate article for her awards and nominations can be created. I am going to be done with the Woman of Steel album in a few days. Are you still working on the Black Magic article?  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:38, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, Thank you Menneth (talk) 05:13, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Universal Music Africa is quite different from Universal Music Group, The former is totally another record label which is relatively an affiliate to UMG but an independent label all the same. Universal Music Africa is the label which Yemi Alade is signed to on licensing not UMG. Menneth (talk) 09:59, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

You are right about Alade being signed to UMA. However, your claim about UMA being independent of UMG is wrong. Universal Music Africa (UMA) is under the umbrella of UMG and not independent of it. I will make minor changes to the article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 15:08, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Having connection with Abuswain

Please i don't know anything about Abuswain and also i'm creating pages due to the things around me.I do music marketing i wish most of the Ghanaian artist could have their biography on wiki. SO iv devoted my time to write about the little things i know and not for any credit.Thank you sir/Madam! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kingchalie (talkcontribs) 21:32, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

@Kingchalie: What exactly do you mean by music marketing? Are you a promoter? Ghanaian artists (or any artists for that matter) can only have a separate article on Wikipedia if they pass the requirements of WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. Keep that in mind because if you create an article about a musician who does not meet the criterion outlined in WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO, the article will get nominated for deletion. As a matter of fact, I will be nominating two of the articles you created for deletion because I do not believe the artists meet the requirements outlined in WP:GNG and WP:MUSIBIO. Wikipedia is not a platform for up-and-coming artists to promote themselves. FYI, not every artist can have a Wikipedia article. Please sign your posts next time; I will leave an automated message on your talk page on how to go about doing that. Thank you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:45, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of Monsieur Adi

I see where you suggested that the article on Monsieur Adi should be deleted because the links are not reliable or are to promotional material the artist could have sent in himself. Yellow (Brymo album)

Hi,

I made the edits because the information in the tooXclusive article was wrong. It can be seen in the original caption to the image of numeral systems linked below comparing the first three rows of number systems to those used in the tracklist image as seen on Instagram.

Numeral Systems of the world

I cited the instagram post of the tracklist because that's the original source of the image. I removed the tooXclusive citation because it purported wrong information and did not supported my claims. The instagram citation is not a reference to the veracity of the claim as to which numeral systems were used as described in words but by empirical observation.

You may also note that the items in Side A of the tracklist are ordered right to left as is customary of Arabic script. There is no dispute concerning the numeral system in Side B being Roman. that was right. The one used in Side C , however, can easily be misconstrued to be English because its use pervades the English language but that is not true. The numerals used in the English language are a westernized form of the Hindu numeric system as adopted by the Arabs hence their description as western arabic numerals although they are more commonly referred to as Arabic numerals.

Feel free to revert back to my edits if this information sits right with you. I should have written a more detailed edit summary.

Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Funspectre (talkcontribs) 15:04, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

@Funspectre: Thanks for explaining things to me in detail. I am going to restore your addition to the article. Thank you. I hope you stick around here man. We need more editors editing African music-related content. Update: I just corrected the info. I did not restore your edits because Instagram isn't considered a reliable source. Since the TooXclusive source has the album's back cover image, its usage in the article is warranted.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 15:08, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

RE: Monsieur Adi deletion

Hi again, so looking at the guidelines he does meet the criteria for at least two points: 1. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1] - You can find where numerous publications have covered his work by choice, not by him sending it in, as well as featured in various physically printed publications. He is known for his remixes and they have been featured in international advertisement campaigns, video games, and popular compilations as well as official releases on the majority of major labels. https://www.out.com/entertainment/music/2014/04/08/exclusive-beyonc%C3%A9-debuts-free-remixes-blow-xo https://www.capitolrecords.com/katy-perry-releases-rise-remixes/ https://www.ost.co/1564-dirt-4.html

4. Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.[note 4] - I am not sure if his his touring with Beyoncé counts or not. Again, that is something that can be easily found and verified online. https://www.capitalxtra.com/artists/beyonce/lists/mrs-carter-world-tour/monsieur-adi/

5. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable). - Again, a simple search will show that he released two different albums/EPs/singles on two sub-labels of Sony Music

It's just very odd that the page has been running for years and just now it has been flagged for deletion. Sounds like it was flagged by someone that might or might not know the artist personally. Just my thoughts on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattia86 (talkcontribs) 17:27, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

@Mattia86: Adi's remixes of Beyonce's songs “Blow” and “XO" were not official released by Beyonce or her record label. Per the source you cited, the remixes were done for Out magazine. On the contrary, the remix he did for one of Katy Perry's songs was released by her record label. This does count towards notability in the grand scheme of things, but is this enough? I personally don't think he deserves a separate article simply because he did an official remix for one of Katy Perry's songs (in addition to one of his songs being featured in a notable video game). Adi's stint with Beyonce does not count because his participation in her tour was not discussed in reliable sources. Show me a reliable source that discusses him in the context of the tour. This particular source you cited here is just an announcement; it cannot be used to establish notability. Adi fails criterion 5 of WP:MUSICBIO. None of his EPs or singles charted on any country official music chart or were critically reviewed. Show me sources that discuss his singles and EPs. FYI, bodies of work are not inherently notable simply because they were released on a major label. In order for a song, an album or EP to have a separate article, it will have to meet WP:NSONG or WP:NALBUM. In response to your last sentence, there are numerous non-notable articles currently in mainspace. It's possible they may get deleted soon or in the near future. However, it's also possible they may never get deleted. A lot of articles created by new editors do not go through the WP:AFC process. Once new editors become auto-confirmed, they bypass AFC altogether. Someone knowing or not knowing an artist is irrelevant. Every article on Wikipedia can be nominated for deletion at any time. No article is exempt from this. If an article's nominator can demonstrate that the article doesn't meet our notability requirements, their decision to nominate the article would be justified.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 18:19, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Ifeanyi Agu Article for deletion.

Hello Versace1608 thanks for your review. In the second citation the name "Ifeanyi Agu" was mentioned as one of the winners of the said election. It was number three on that list. However I'll work on the article to get more citations. Thanks.Gbesimi Samuel (talk) 22:09, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

@Gbesimi Samuel: I am not disputing his win. Congrats to him on winning one of 17 LGAs in his state. Per WP:NPOL, inherent notability applies to politicians on the national and state level and not to local politicians.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 22:31, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
@Versace1608: Ok. But Mayors of cities in the US and other countries are on wikipedia, so why can't a mayor of a city in Nigeria be on wiki? just asking to get more clarification. Gbesimi Samuel (talk) 22:59, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
@Gbesimi Samuel: FYI, being a mayor of an LGA is not the same as being a mayor of a major city. I'm confident that all U.S mayors with Wikipedia articles meet WP:GNG and WP:NPOL. Every local politician in Nigeria who meets WP:GNG or WP:NPOL deserve to have separate articles as well. The problem with Ifeanyi Agu is that he fails WP:NPOL and WP:GNG. Per the article, he is a businessman; however, none of his business ventures are mentioned in the article. All of the info in the article revolves around him having affiliations with the PDP party and being a mayor of an LGA.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:21, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Adekunle Gold

Hello, Versace 1608...

Thank you for doing me the courtesy of informing me of your reversion. I really appreciated it.

My edit concerning the Omoba was supported by that which is already implied by way of the assertion that he belongs to a Yoruba royal house. I didn't feel that a citation was required, but I suppose that that comes from the privilege of being familiar with my country's traditions.

In light of that fact, I do understand your not taking my word for it. Verifiability should be everybody's watchword. Therefore, I will attempt to find an appropriate reference before restoring it.

Thanks again and happy holidays, O.ominirabluejack (talk) 18:29, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Vaga Baby

I have been a member of the Wikipedia community for over 10 years. I have made many contributions over those 10 years. With regard to the Vaga Baby article, there are several reliable sources cited. Apple, Amazon, and iHeartRadio are a few of the sources that were used. These sources view Vaga Baby as a notable celebrity. It would not be fair or reasonable to delete an article that contains citations from the aforementioned sources. Techno31 (talk) 15:25, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

@Techno31: None of the references cited in the article are reliable. The Apple, Amazon and iHeartRadio sources are promotional links to the subject's music; they cannot be used to establish notability. Please familiarize yourself with WP:GNG, WP:MUSICBIO and WP:RS. Thank you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 15:38, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Based on my knowledge of the policy, these sources can be used. The sources are not promotional. The artist is notable because he is posted on Apple, Amazon, and iHeartRadio. An insignificant artist would not have the ability to have anything published on the aforementioned sites. The standards of Apple, Amazon, and iHeartRadio are stringent. WorldStarHipHop and Worldwide Spotlight are reliable independent sources that were also cited. Please reconsider. Thank you so much for your time. Techno31 (talk) 16:26, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Techno31: Artists having the ability to post their music on Apple, Amazon and iHeartRadio are not grounds for keep. There are tons of insignificant artists who have submitted their music to those retailers. If notability was that easy, every musician and their mother would be notable. There's nothing to reconsider. Vaga Baby doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability criteria at this time.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 16:32, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

I have been a part of the Wikipedia community for over 10 years. I am no newcomer. I have familiarized myself with the policy of this great site over the past 10 years. The creation of this article follows policy perfectly and completely. Your opinion with regard to posting on Apple, Amazon, and iHeartRadio is simply incorrect. Opinions should never be a part of anything on Wikipedia. Please name a few of the insignificant artists that are listed on the aforementioned websites. I cannot find any insignificant artists on the websites of those retailers. Along with that, you fail to refute my previous statement mentioning the citations of the reliable articles on WorldStarHipHop and Worldwide Spotlight. You are simply asking for too much and creating your own policy outside that of Wikipedia. Your actions are simply inappropriate. Techno31 (talk) 17:19, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Techno31: For starters, WorldStarHipHop and Worldwide Spotlight are not reliable sources; even if they were reliable, this particular source published by the former doesn't help establish Vaga Baby as a notable act. If you show me newspaper or reliable magazine coverage of Vaga Baby, I will change my #vote. I am not asking for anything; I am simply telling you that the subject doesn't meet WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. If you believe he does, tell me which criterion he meets. Which criterion of WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO does he meet? Do you really think retailers like Apple, Amazon Music and Spotify are platforms that cater only to establish artists? For crying out loud, Google the name of a local rapper or musician you personally know; I'm sure you will find their music on at-least one of those platforms (if not all).  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:55, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

I need a few more days to get the references updated. I will add a few more reliable news sources. Techno31 (talk) 13:29, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Techno31: That's fine. Just make sure you add whatever reliable sources (I doubt there's any) you find to the article and leave a comment in the AFD discussion saying that you did.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 13:34, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for giving me the chance to revise the article. I added a new reference to the page. I cited an article from MarketWatch. (MarketWatch (2020-04-13), Florida Artist, Vaga Baby is Keeping Calm During the Pandemic) This adds to the fact that this is article is suitable for Wikipedia. @Bibliomaniac15: Thanks for the response. I plan on taking the article to AFD once more; I'm not sure how long I need to wait before I can do this. The duo does not deserve a separate article on Wikipedia at this time.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 19:18, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
There's no strict policy or guideline about how long you'd need to wait, but I'd say you'd want to give it a couple weeks. Gives yourself some time to think about how to state your case, and it's always good to let the discussion rest a while after it's been closed before firing it up again. bibliomaniac15 21:24, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Discussion on nomination of Duke Elvis page for Deletion

Hi, I saw your discussion on the deletion page and if you watch the Johnsons, you'll know that Abulu even if he doesn't play the lead role but he is one of the main characters, and The Johnsons is not the only thing he has been on. And you also said the other movies there are not notable, are you kidding me, no offense but did you browse/research about the other movies listed, please do, just take some of them and type it in on Google and you'll see IMDB and other relevant, notable results. And in some of those movies he played major roles. With all due respect sir/ma Duke Elvis deserves a wiki page, if were even talking about The Johnsons, there's a character there that didn't play the lead role just like Duke Elvis but has a wiki page to his name. I know you've been a wiki Editor for quite a while and you're good at it but I'm new and I'm just pleading with you to do a comprehensive check on Duke Elvis and drop a proper discussion on the Deletion page. I don't want the efforts I put in editing that page to go down the drain. Thank you. VictorHB (talk) 01:09, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

@VictorHB: Welcome to Wikipedia. I appreciate your efforts but the subject you're trying to create an article about doesn't meet our notability requirements at this time. This is not to say he won't ever meet it. I did do a Google search about all of the films he's been in and they do not meet the criterion outlined in WP:NFO. For your info, IMDB is not a reliable source per WP:USERG. Who is this actor/actress that also starred in The Johnsons? The person is probably notable because they meet WP:NACTOR or has has major roles in other notable films. It is okay if the first article you create gets deleted. The same thing happened to me when I started editing in 2011. Do not allow that to discourage you. I don't know what your intentions are but if you're here to contribute productively to this encyclopedia, I can definitely adopt you and show you the ropes.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:45, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

My intentions are to add to this encyclopedia and as for the actor in The Johnsons that I talked about, I can't disclose his name. And if all this criterion has to be met before an actor can have a wiki page then I think wiki editors should go and vet all actors and actresses wiki pages cause most of them that I've seen don't even provide link for the movies they've been in or the links they provided are from IMDB and for some of them, only one of their movies is notable according to Wikipedia guidelines not industry guidelines as in which case also applies to Duke Elvis because according to you, only the Johnsons is notable for him. But I urge you the check these movies; The man who cuts tattoos, happyness limited, mystified and man in the middle cause these are some of the Notable films Duke Elvis featured in and played major roles. Just Google them and see, I'm not implying anything. Thanks for your time. VictorHB (talk) 01:56, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

@VictorHB: Actors do not have to meet every criterion of WP:NACTOR; they only need to meet one in order to be considered notable. Actors who fail WP:NACTOR can also be considered notable if they meet any and all criterion outlined in WP:GNG or WP:ANYBIO. If you're not going to disclose the name of this mystery person, I won't be able to help you out man. Can you please list the actors/actresses whose articles you believe do not meet our notability requirements? For your info, just because a movie doesn't have a Wikipedia article doesn't mean it isn't notable. There are lots of notable films that do not have Wikipedia articles. It is our job as editors to create them. Let me also point out that a subject's notability is not tied to Wikipedia. If you believe the films you've mentioned pass WP:NFO, list the reliable sources here and I will change my vote in the Duke Elvis AFD discussion.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:18, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

I know actors have to meet at least one criteria in WP:NACTOR to be considered as notable and I feel like he has met Criterion's 2&3 already causes he has a large fanbase both online and offline in Nigerian and in other African countries and he has also contributed to Nollywood in more way than one but I think the main issue all the other editors have with this page is the Movie notability And I also know a movie must not have a Wikipedia article for it to be notable, what I'm trying to say in a nutshell is that the movies listed on Duke Elvis' page are of the same class with many actor, well let me not bring other actors into this, I'm concerned about the page I created alone. And okay about the reliable sources so you can change your vote,I don't know how to create a link here so please let me list a few so you can Google it and check the links out please. Check the movies below;

  • The Man who cuts tattoos
  • Happyness Limited
  • Mystified (Nigerian movie)
  • Born (The movie)

Please sir all I ask of you is to take out a little to to check these movies I just listed and if you still don't find them worthy then I'll rest my case. Please, thank you

VictorHB (talk) 02:43, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

@@Versace1608: please sir also check this movie: Lagos:sex, lie, traffic. I just found it on the internet and he's one of the major roles in it. And I also just added more notable and page worthy citations on the Duke Elvis page a few mins ago, please help me check it out. God bless you. VictorHB (talk) 03:25, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

@VictorHB: Elvis has not met criterion 2 and 3 of WP:NACTOR. How exactly does he has a significant cult following? How can someone (who is not even verified) with 15k Instagram followers be considered huge? Is 15k huge? What "unique, prolific or innovative contributions" has Elvis made to the field of entertainment? None of the films he has appeared in are notable; they have received some press coverage but do not meet the criterion outlined in WP:NFO. Like I said in the AFD discussion, Elvis's only claim to notability is his minor role in The Johnsons, a TV show that's barely notable.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 13:24, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

Sunshine District

You commented that you googled "the quartet" and found no reliable information. You failed to mention what quartet you googled. Sunshine District is not a quartet. Bazinwanga (talk) 16:58, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

@Bazinwanga: I no longer have access to the article but the article's lede did say that Sunshine District is a quartet. Regardless of whether it is a quartet or not, one can't deny that notability was not met.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:05, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

It didn't say that, it said the district produced a lot of the top quartets in the world. It's understandable how a google search could come up empty in that case. Bazinwanga (talk) 17:28, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

@Bazinwanga: I did search for reliable sources about Sunshine District but did not find any. Since you believe Sunshine District is notable enough to have a separate article, can you please list the reliable sources you stumbled upon in your Google search?  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 19:50, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Restoring Deleted Article - Cracker Mallo

Hi! I hope you've been well. I'd like to discuss the restoration of the deleted Cracker Mallo page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cracker_Mallo -- I understand the primary issue was notability. The producer now has some more interviews and works credited to him, and the following awards City people's Best Producer of the year 2019 Beatz Awards Afro pop producer of the year 2019 Nominations: Soundcity MVP African Producer of the year 2020 Please seelinks below: - https://www.boomplaymusic.com/share/buzz/1013806?srModel=WHATSAPP&srList=ANDROID - https://www.onetribemag.com/2019/05/14/onetribe-exclusive-interview-with-producer-cracker-mallo/ - https://www.360dopes.com/cracker-mallo-biography-age-songs-pictures/ - https://www.pulse.ng/news/metro/the-beatz-awards-2019-don-jazzy-to-reward-renamed-award-category-don-jazzy-new/500vn1p.amp - Please let me know what you think. (TheCxcx (talk) 03:52, 29 April 2020 (UTC))

@TheCxcx: Cracker Mallo doesn't meet WP:MUSICBIO at this time. The sources you cited here cannot be used to establish the subject's notability. Per WP:GNG, interview sources cannot be used to establish notability because they are not independent of the subject. The Beatz Awards does not appear to be a notable award. I personally feel Cracker Mallo has not done enough as a producer to warrant a separate article. Producing one hit song in "Jealous" is not enough in my opinion.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 13:54, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
@Versace1608: Thank you for clearing that up. Could you kindly recommend what sort of links to provide besides the ones included that could add to his notability? (TheCxcx (talk) 15:26, 29 April 2020 (UTC))
@TheCxcx: It is not about links. Cracker Mallo has not done enough at this point to warrant a separate article. He has only produced a handful of singles and is relatively new. I believe he will become notable in two or three years if he continues producing quality music. Please keep in mind that you cannot directly create articles you have a WP:COI with.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 15:36, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

You should see this

Hi, With you experience and background in musicians especially from Africa, can you help improve/assist with Draft:Amerado ? He is very notable here in Ghana, performed and nominated for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK and 3 Music Awards amongst others.

@154.160.27.72: Amerado is not notable and does not meet WP:MUSICBIO. If you move the draft article to mainspace, I am going to nominate it for deletion.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 14:14, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment Per Versace’s response verbatim; Amerado is not notable and does not meet WP:MUSICBIO. If you move the draft article to mainspace, I am going to nominate it for deletion.

Wizkid

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Wizkid has been completed.

There were citations in the lede which is how I discovered some of the material in it did not appear in the article; I fixed this. This was also an issue with the version of the article which was reviewed and promoted to GA in 2014. Based on that and many issues with the prose I feel the article should never have been promoted to GA status at that time.

While I think all of the prose issues have been fixed, there are still many problems with the lack of citations throughout the article. As it stands, it no longer meets GA criteria per number 2. "Is it factually accurate and verifiable?" It appears that another editor feels the article is not current. Once these issues have been fixed it probably deserves GA status.

Regards,

Twofingered Typist (talk) 13:22, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

@Twofingered Typist: Thanks for editing the page. I am going to address the concerns you raised here.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 16:45, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of Mayolee's Page

Hi, I'm Tife, relatively new on wikipedia. Some days ago I was making some research on an event that happened in Nigeria in 2020 (End Sars). I then stumbled on a Nigerian Independent Reportage by German Deutsche Welle (DW) where they interviewed Nigerian citizens and few notable Nigerians on the aftermath of the event which were Michael Oluwole (Nigerian Music Producer), Muhammad Dingyadi (Minister of Police Affairs) and Human Right Activist Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri.

I added this news on the End Sars wikipedia article and in the course of that tried to link their names on wikipedia and they aren't there. So i decided to do a little research and Michael Oluwole turns out to be Mayo MuziQ now Mayolee, a gospel music producer. Gospel music is huge in Africa - though it lacks accurate media coverage - , this individual is responsible for the production of some of the biggest gospel songs in the African region. From Way Maker by Sinach to Jesus & Cheta by Ada, Joy Overflow, Done me well, Holyghost by Joe Praize, My Light by Jahdiel, Lover of my soul by Elijah Oyelade, list of songs from Israel Strong, Peeyuu, UR flames, TB1, Pastor Saki, CSO and list of other artists. He was also signed to Universal Music Group SA in 2020.

So I came on wikipedia to create a page for this individual and realised he had a page that was deleted. I went through the discussions and saw that he was poorly represented by whoever put up the page. The page also looked like someone was using the article to learn wikipedia and didn't do their home work properly.

I saw you were part of the people who nominated the page for deletion and thought to contact you as I am now trying to recreate the page with accurate and citable informations on the subject.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Tifesheldon (talk) 06:49, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

@Tifesheldon: Thanks for the detailed message on my talk page. Personally speaking, I do not beleive Mayolee meets Wikipedia's notability guideline for a stand-alone article at the current moment. I did not nominate the page for deletion; I only participate in the AFD. If you want to recreate the page, feel free to do so. Just keep in mind that it can be nominated for deletion once more or even be speedily deleted via the WP:CSD criteria.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:54, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

@Tobiladun: Thanks for leaving me a message on my talk page. I have reviewed the article and did a Google search of the subject. I do not believe she meets Wikipedia's notability requirement at this time. I am going to nominate the article for deletion.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:59, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
