Proposed deletion of Lanre lawal edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lanre lawal, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unremarkable businessman

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Lanre lawal edit

A tag has been placed on Lanre lawal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. June 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Versace1608. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Brymo without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Brymo. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Versace1608 (Talk) 18:07, 5 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Versace1608 I apologize for making the corrections without following due process. I'm only trying to improve the page. Basically to remove any form of advertisement and unquote names quoted wrongly. I have the permission of the person of Brymo to effect these changes. Also, I will like to add his picture to the page; please advise Thank you for anticipated assistance.
I appreciate you helping out, but you removed the part about him leaving Chocolate City. This information is factual and sourced. You can't removed factual information from the article without getting a consensus to do so. If you want to help out, I suggest that you find reliable sources to add to the article. I also suggest that you remove promotional languages from the article. If you would like to add an image that you do not own the copyright to, I suggest that you contact the copyright owner and get them to sign a Declaration of Consent form. Since you're in contact with Brymo, you can get him to sign the form and email it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. If you take a picture of Brymo yourself using your cellphone or camera, you can upload the image without having to email OTRS. When uploading an image you own the copyright to, make sure you enabled the WP:CC BY-SA and WP:FDL licenses when uploading the image via the File Upload Wizard. The Wikipedia:Uploading images article should help you out. Feel free to reply to this message if you have any questions or comments. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia. Please advise on how to go about uploading the picture, even after following due process. Thanks Versace1608. I await your response.

Thank you for your help Versace1608. I've checked, I don't think I am auto-confirmed yet. Can you help with the upload? I can send you the picture via email if you don't mind. Thanks.

Hello Versace1608. Brymo becomes "Goodwill Ambassador" for The Lagos Chamber of Commerce, and it was unveiled today at a grand event in Lagos, Nigeria. I will like to add this to his wikipedia page. Also, he has announced that his forthcoming album titled "Tabula Rasa" will be released on 30th October in America & Europe and on 3rd November in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world. Can you help put these up? I am sending you pictures and his signed declaration of consent form. Thank you in anticipation of your assistance.
@Blarque: Thanks for adding that info to the article. I will try to expand and fix the Brymo article as soon as possible. Regards Versace1608 (Talk) 22:17, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

"Versace1608 Please when will you help post those Brymo's pictures on his page? The new album "Tabula Rasa" is out today; we'll update the page with it later. Please help put up the pictures. Recent removal of content from the Brymo article edit

Greetings Blarque, you removed content from the article without explaining why. You shouldn't be editing the Brymo article because of your close connection to the subject. I personally rewrote the article from scratch. All of the information currently in the article are well-sourced and written from a neutral point of view. You can't remove content as you see fit. If the info wasn't factual, then you might have a valid reason to remove it. Please read Wikipedia's policy on editors with a conflict of interest. I'm afraid I will be reporting you the next time you decide to remove mass content from the article without getting consensus to do so.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 22:03, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello Versace. I apologise not explaining why the reasons behind the edit. Besides, the edit were done by the subject himself and we sent you an email to that effect. All the same, I apologize. But there are some irregularities in your edit. Brymo did not in fact breach his contract with Chocolate City, the company did, many times and that was his reason for leaving. Also, the Klĭtôrĭs album was released on Brymo's 30th birthday in May (9th of May), not March. The subject's primary school is "Aganju Aka Primary School" not Akanji Aka. Brymo dropped out of LASU at age 23 (in 2009) and not age 17. Please check also the Associated Acts section; Brymo never had any association with any artiste or person called "David O"; the guitarist featured on the "Money"song on the Merchants, Dealers & Slaves album is "David" without the "O". These and a lot in your edit are inaccurate. I represent the artiste and believe I have a right to edit his page. Beside, I suppose you should sometimes ask to be clarified on certain information before you put them out. Thank you for your support. Bless.

Neither you nor Brymo should be editing his Wikipedia page. Our conflict of interest policy strongly discourages individuals (and their affiliates) from editing their pages. Just so you know, everything one adds to Wikipedia must be supported by a citation to reliable source. I am not responsible for the information published by Nigerian newspapers. My job as an editor is simply to write about Brymo in my own words and add reliable sources to backup everything I say. In this particular instance, you must understand that you cannot hold Wikipedia responsible for information you believe are inaccurate. You must hold Nigerian newspapers responsible because they're the ones publishing the stories. I am going to clarify your concerns about the article. You said that Brymo didn't breach his contract. Can you provide a reliable source to counter the source referenced in the article? What is your definition of breach if I may ask? Brymo left the label before his contract expired. If he didn't breach his contract, what exactly did he do? I apologize for messing up the Klitoris album release date. I have rectified the mistake. This source cited in the article states Akanji Aka Primary School, not Aganju Aka Primary School. If you have a reliable source that mentions his primary school, please provide it when you're replying. According to an article published by Vanguard newspaper, Brymo stated: So at 17, I’d made up my mind about what I wanted to do. I thought about doing something that’ll give me joy and put money in my pocket. And because people always told me that I have a great voice, I was encouraged and decided to do music. I quit school for it. I was in my second year in LASU. I don't know how you'll interpret this statement, but anyone reading this can imply that Brymo dropped out of LASU at age 17. I have removed his age from the statement since it wasn't explicitly stated in the source. This source explicitly states that the album features a guest appearance from David O. If the Premium Times newspaper made a mistake, please provide a reliable source to counter their claims. If you have any other problems with the article, please voiced your concerns at the article's talk page. I or another editor will addressed your concerns there. You represent the artist but you do not have the right to edit the page as you see fit. Wikipedia doesn't work this way. There are policies and procedures we all need to abide by when editing this encyclopedia. Please hold Nigerian newspapers reliable for their publications. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought and not a newspaper.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:05, 26 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Update: I changed David O to David. I checked the track-listing for MD&S and saw that it said David. The Premium Times made a typo error.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 10:03, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello Versace, how are you? Hope you're keeping safe. Please help correct/edit the name of the artist who painted the cover art for Brymo's 'Yellow' album to Samuel Olowomeye AncestoR (the last R is in capital letter). The artist says he prefers his name listed that way and is causing some trouble. Thank you for always...

Managing a conflict of interest edit

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:01, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Noted, with thanks. However, can Brymo be listed as an Independent artiste, because he is currently not signed to any record label. He is only signed to a management deal with THE BAIL MUSIC COMPANY; not record deal. Thanks again.

@Blarque: I just made the changes you requested for. Next time, please leave a {{request edit}} template at Talk:Brymo if you want to propose changes to the Brymo article. Keep in mind that neither you or anyone in your circle who have an external relationship with Brymo can edit the Brymo article directly.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:06, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Versace Thank you for all that you do. We've seen the page you created for Yellow. Detailed and correct information. Well done. However, I'd like to be credited for and as A&R on the project. I A&R'd the project from inception (idea to execution, even till now - promotion and marketing). Kindly find Brymo's tweet in that regard here https://twitter.com/BrymOlawale/status/1245668155986530306 I, in fact, A&R ALL of Brymo's albums/projects since Merchants, Dealers & Slaves. I'll appreciate to be credited for my input/work. Thanks again, God bless.

@Blarque: First and foremost, congrats to you guys. The album is amazing man. Brymo is a legend. I did see your name in a review I read yesterday. I am going to add your name to the article's personnel section. As for Brymo's other albums, I'll need sources in order to add your name to the personnel section. I am going to add a personnel section to the M,D&S, Tabula Rasa and Klitoris articles.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
