Baggy jeans

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. In this case, the community decided (at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Baggy_jeans) to redirect the page to Jeans. While somewhat silly, let's leave this one be for the moment. Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 08:59, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

revision 228360003
I'm just curious about why I have to write summary if I edit a page and why an other editor (you) does not when he/she reverts my changes?
On the other hand, the link that I wanted to add (to Nokia N96) is in fact useful and absolutely connects to the article. Yes it is a link to an other website, just like the other ones. None of the existing links points to the type of content I've added and the number of links is under 10 pieces.
So I really would like to have the explanation of this.
Waiting...

--Swingerman (talk) 13:22, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, that's right. It looks like the other thousand of sites. I really don't want to add this link any more. But let me tell one thing: there are other two links witch point to sites just like other thousand (review sites) and not only on the Nokia N96 article. Of course I don't want nobody to remove those links, they are very useful links.
Thanks for your reply. I do respect your point of view and agree with your decision.

Cheers,

--Swingerman (talk) 18:48, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

The deletion of Criticism of Ahmed Rida Khan article

The said article does not under the category of biographies of living persons. Then why have you decide to delete it. Ahmed Rida Khan is no longer a live person. Ooop! I was just adding {{hangon}} to the page and adding a bunch of referenced information (20 or 30 minutes work) and the page was gone! I am not broadband enabled so it can take a minute or two to load a pagge. For the record he was Mp for Widnes 1885 - 1892 and there are three articles with redlinks... Wish to thank you for bringing this book to AfD, else I might not have found THIS, which lead me to learning it was at least twice (99th and 37th) listed on the NEA top 100 list of children's books and that it won a 1998 award not even shared on the book jacket. With your help, notability has most definitely been established. Wow... and to think this was almost speedied. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:53, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Todd Williams (The Young and the Restless)

Hi! I've removed your speedy delete tag from Todd Williams (The Young and the Restless). The A7 criterion only applies to real people, not fictional characters. Feel free to prod instead. Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 21:42, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

re napalm edit

hello. the reason i chopped off the pop culture section on the napalm article is because it was a messy irrelevant and innacurate trivia list. i think that we could both agree that if there were to be a napalm pop culture section it would go on forever!!!:) anyway, i re-deleted the section and added why on the talk page. good bye. 68.206.123.207 (talk) 21:14, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

cost-shifting

Please don;t nominate things as hoaxes -- especially as speedy -- simply because they are unfamiliar, or the article does not give full sourcing that justifies the title. The tag you were looking for is probably {{fact}} A hoax is something that is not true, but pretends to be. For cCSD it has to be flatent, obvious, and unquestionable. This speedy nomination might well strike a person as exceptionally pointy. Please check WP:HOAX and WP:CSD#A3 DGG ( talk ) 04:09, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

The Lost City of Malathedra

I see you tagged The Lost City of Malathedra for speedy deletion under CSD A7. I certainly agree it should be deleted, but I think it would be very unlikely to be deleted under A7, as this applies only to "individuals, animals, organisations, web content" (quoted from WP:CSD), so I have replaced it with a tag under CSD G12 (Unambiguous copyright infringement). JamesBWatson (talk) 17:15, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I was under the impression that A7 applied to all digital content. All these CSD criteria still confuse me --UltraMagnus (talk) 20:40, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes; I always check WP:CSD, even if I think I know what I am doing, because of past experiences where some editor came up with some reason why

the criterion I gave did not apply. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:03, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edits to the article List of new religious movements is disruptive. Please stop. Please do not add back a wholly unsourced entry unless you can present a source satisfying WP:RS and WP:V that identifies the movement you are trying to add repeatedly specifically as a "new religious movement". For Wikipedians to make our own POV assertions and analysis based on what we feel is a "new religious movement" is a violation of WP:NOR. Thanks, Cirt (talk) 14:56, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Please undo your last edit which is wholly unsourced, and violates WP:NOR. Cirt (talk) 15:02, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Barack Obama "Joker" poster

Hey. I removed your request from the 3O page because it doesn't really comply with the project guidelines. 3Os are usually for articles where there are just two editors who are at odds and need a third opinion to break the tie. For that article, I would recommend WP:RFC, as that might generate more consensus. I'd also suggest leaving a note on the talk page of the Obama project and the Politics wikiproject talk page and get users there to give their input. Hope this helps. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 17:56, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Polo (Video Game) being deleted?

I want to be explained to about why my article on Wikipedia is being deleted. This is the SECOND time its been flagged for deletion and I want to know excactly why. Everything typed in that article was written by me. The Game polo, Is made, written, produced and programmed by Me. Its all my content I am donating to Wikipedia. --Shawnanator (talk) 20:53, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

things have to meet a certain level of notability to have an article on wikipedia. If your game has reviews from reliable sources and you cite them in your article then people will hopefully vote to keep your article. --UltraMagnusspeak 21:04, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
How am I able to get it reviewed or anything from reliable sources? I am a indie game programmer, the game is still in development, I have no reviews until the game is finished and released. --Shawnanator (talk) 21:13, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
you should re-create the article when it is released and has reviews then, wikipedia does not normally have articles for unreleased games or albums unless they are of extra-ordinary notability (see wp:crystal). I would suggest you put a comment in the AFD discussion asking the closing admin to "userfy" the article to you for this purpose --UltraMagnusspeak 21:22, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Jacob Apelbaum AfD Debate

Hi UltraMagnus,

Just wanted to solicit your two cents on the AfD debate. Since the nomination of this article, I have added as many additional supportive citations and references as possible, but there still seems to be a fair amount of whitewashing.

Strawman arguments keep on popping-up and repeatedly revolve around the same points which were already addressed and are being ignored (i.e. publications with known organizations such as MEMRI and SNAME, notable patents [2], and coverage by major printed media outlets like the Daily Herald, Engineering News-Record, etc.).

We’re past the 7-day AfD review, but as it stands right now, I don't think we have a consensus one way or another. Do you have any pearls of wisdom you can pass along?--JAF 04:45, 27 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by JillFine (talkcontribs)

Tags on Microchip implant (animal)

Would you please examine the current rev. of Microchip implant (animal) and if you think it still has weasel words, point them out, and otherwise delete the tag?

I would also propose removal of the globalize/U.S. tag. While the "Cross-compatibility and Standards Issues" and "Central Microchip Registration Lookup" sections have mostly U.S. content, that's because these deal with problems that exist mostly in the U.S. If you can identify a country other than the U.S. that has compatibility problems anything close to the U.S. mess, I could write about them, but what country would that be? The information on chip types is still of interest internationally, for travelers, etc.

AndyKluck (talk) 17:10, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

I removed the weasel tag, you have done a good job making the article weasel word free. On the issue of the globalize tag, It really needs to make clear that the issue only exists in the USA, and that other countries all use a standard kind (if, indeed they do). As it stands it could confuse non US readers. --UltraMagnusspeak 19:45, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:50, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Valid edit reversions, not vandalism

This edit was reverted by you, but it was valid. It's a non-issue now because someone came along and did it again, just thought I'd bring it up because sometimes users make valid changes after vandals and want to avoid losing baby with bath water. The said, this previous edit by an IP also does not look like vandalism. A statement similar to this effect was also restored. I cleaned it up a bit so nothing of value was lost in the long run, but in the future I think we should be more cooperative and assume good faith. 00:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
