Hi

I dropped in to say a big hello to you, and hope to see more edits from you. --Bhadani 14:23, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

Your edits on Aishwarya Rai

Hi, you have been adding the link http://djweb.com.ru/press/aishwarya.html and some editors have been reverting it. If this continues, it would be viewed as an edit war and could lead to unpleasant consequences for the editors involved. Also, I am assuming that it could be your own website with dj standing for Deepu Joseph (forgive me if my assumption is wrong), and hence I'd understand your idea that it should get exposure on a widely visited website like Wikipedia. However, the link that you are replacing is a better source as it is written by a well-known film critic and fits the context in which it is placed. Also, while the link that you have been adding is thought-provoking, it wd be construed as an op-ed piece and hence un-encyclopedic. I understand your enthusiasm but you should also respect the policies at Wikipedia - I am concerned about WP:3RR. I have a suggestion though. Why not have the link on your user page? No one would object to that and the link would also get some publicity as it is listed on Wikipedia. Please consider my suggestion and do not enter into a situation that can be construed as an edit war. --Gurubrahma 14:16, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Oh..I'm sorry. But I thought the link was worth mention since the trivia part didnt contain any mention of her being considered the most beautiful woman in the world. I'm sorry for any trouble caused. And a big thank you for bringing this to my attention. I hope to remain and contribute to wikipedia for a long time to come. Thanks and sorry again! thunderboltz 14:57, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi, it would be better if you reply on the talkpage of the person who places a message on your talkpage. No need to reply to this one, though, as this is more for informing you. The Most Beautiful Woman in the World is up for copyrightviolation - even if it survives that, it may be later put for WP:AFD. I guess you are getting a hang of things around. If someone notable calls Aishwarya Rai the most beautiful woman in the world it can be included. But if you or I call her that it would be POV - pl. see WP:POV. You may also want to see WP:NOT. btw, the name thunderboltz looks good. --Gurubrahma 17:40, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
If you have a reference for Julia Roberts calling her that, you should probably add it in trivia - saying Julia Roberts[link] and Ebert[link] are among the people who called her "the most beautiful woman in the world." Next time you want to start a new message on the talk page of an article or a user, use the + button that is located next to the "edit this page" button. That would take your message to the bottom of the page - which is where people look for new messages. All the best, --Gurubrahma 18:16, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Deepu, Typing Malayalam is simple now thanks to the efforts by Cibu[1] and Raj[2], both NRKs. They have developed transliteration schemes known as Varamozhi and Mozhi respectively. You can read about this here. Please let me[3] know if you need more help. Awaiting you there. Manjithkaini 15:30, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Sadya0.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sadya0.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

u changed metropolitant to major in hyderabad

Don't you think those cities listed out are metros?? I meen 'major' doesn't sound anything close to describing these places.

hydkat(ballyhoo back :) 21:35, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

got this from a web dictionary definition of the word...

me·trop·o·lis (mĭ-trŏp'ə-lĭs) pronunciation n.

  1. A major city, especially the chief city of a country or region: Chicago, the metropolis of the Midwest.
  2. A city or an urban area regarded as the center of a specific activity: a great cultural metropolis.
  3. Ecclesiastical. The chief see of a metropolitan bishop.
  4. The mother city or country of an overseas colony, especially in ancient Greece
  • The inner city limits population of Hyderabad is comparable to Chicago's. (point 1 met.)
  • The Hyderabd is the capital city of AP. And a important center for research, academics and Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Services and BPO companies. It has a cultural diversity rivaled by few other places in the country. Its a leading center for sports, and entertainment. (point 2 met.)
  • I belive there is a resident bishop of a major protestant church based in Hyderabad. (this I'm not really sure of)
  • Well in regard to point 4, it fails miserably, you see: no one really wants to leave hyderabad ;)

Nevertheless the list of cities choosen to be called 'metropolis' is well made... they each have a right to be and are called that by people. For example: Hyderabad As for the government - they have the right to have there own 'point of veiw' based on various considerations but not exactly in the interest of the cities concerned. --hydkat 06:05, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

P.S. I always fight like this on small topics. So don't take it too personally, well... maybe a little :)

About your statement - 'All the points are met. But is Kochi a metro? I don't think you will agree.' Your wrong! I do think Kochi qualifies as a metro. (So does Pune!) As for getting somebody else's opinion, thats fine by me... as long as I can argue my point to him or her.
The thing is theres a particular feel in a metro that you don't get just any city... if the city has that feel then it is a metro. And officially, the Indian classification systems for cities, towns and villages is stuck in a time warp and throughly ignored by officials themseleves.

--hydkat(ballyhoo back :)10:27, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm sad you are giving up the fight :( (and yet you make one final punch doing so!)
--hydkat 11:04, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Plz do find one (I'd like to see his or her reaction to our question, in context to the vandalism, rampant and toxic POVs they usually have to deal with. Bet it would be interesting.)

As long as they don't do what Sango123 did, I think it would be ok. --hydkat 11:39, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

(P.S. check poor sango's userpage link.)

I've tried formatting the various lists and I'll get working on updating the lists soon. BTW is there any manual to follow about what to put in subpages and what to put in the main article?

I saw Gurubrahma's reply on your page :) told you his reaction will be something of this sort... I'll find out about what he suggested and get it added on the main page.
