Chin up

It can be an ego bruising process in RFA. I was going to stay in the support column based on the fact that Barkeep49 believed in your candidacy. I am sorry that you did not pass the RFA at this time, but I hope you will continue to make the project great by editing! Lightburst (talk) 23:14, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

No. Fuck. Dude. I didn't oppose because I didn't want you to be a mop. I opposed because I assumed you would be and I wanted you to take the issue I was raising into serious consideration. I was actively defending you. You would have passed. GMGtalk 03:29, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
Maybe? The voting trend was certainly suggesting that it would have gone into the discretionary zone. But more importantly for me, was Tails feeling like the time wasn't right. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 04:53, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
@Barkeep49: It is distressing! An IP editor put maintenance tags on many of TW's articles. December 2017 North American winter storm went live on the main page last night and the DYK regulars had to scramble. You might be interested in this discussion about RFA candidates responding. Your GA nomination of March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Dylan620 -- Dylan620 (talk) 20:42, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

By the way – having ultimately come down on the oppose side, I want you to know that I think you're a rockstar and you make this site a better place. I failed RfA twice as a teenager. The first time, I withdrew less than 24 hours in with support under 40%. The second time looked like it would be successful midway through, but an avalanche of opposition ensued during the final two to three days, and it sank straight through the discretionary range – by the end, it had become such a mess that even with a clear-cut no-consensus result, it still remained open for 12 hours past the scheduled closing time. I wish I'd had the wisdom then that you displayed when you withdrew yesterday. I felt bad switching to oppose, especially since I had been likening your avalanche to my own, but I was extremely impressed by your decision to pull out when there was still a chance you could have passed. And with such a graceful withdrawal statement, too! Once you've made good on your commitment to heed the opposition's concerns – and I have every bit of faith that you will – then frankly I would be delighted to nominate you. I look forward to reviewing your article. I was directly affected by the subject storm, and remember it (as well as that entire March) vividly. Regards, Dylan620 (he/him • talkedits) 22:19, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

Post-RFA comment and thanks

I thank everyone’s kind comments and awards regarding my withdrawn RfA; I really appreciate it! These comments are definitely uplifting and I’m looking forward to another run sometime later in the future. They’re also encouraging; and I also appreciate and thank everyone who participated in my RfA. I’m not terribly impacted by this; although there have been somber moments after the RfA that I’ve endured. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to enjoying this project as I have done before.

The reason why I’m posting this at this time and not earlier is because the RfA was subject to end now. And while my RfA was not successful, I’m extremely grateful for the support, and I will definitely learn from the opposing and neutral votes/opinions and take them to heart. I will also look into the RfA in general, particularly my answers to questions, to learn what mistakes I’ve made and my delayed response to some. Again, I appreciate and thank everyone’s opinions at my RfA, and I’d like to thank my nominators once more, Barkeep49 and Ingenuity, I can't thank enough for their support. Once I gain further experience and fully learn from the opposing and neutral votes, I will consider re-running; but in the meantime, I’ll contribute as much as I did prior to the RfA, learn from the RfA, and start 2024 on a good and high note. Happy New Year to y’all, and thanks for all the support and participation on my RfA! (Courtesy pings to Scorpions1325, Schminnte, Callitropsis, MtBotany, Prodraxis, HJ Mitchell, Shushugah, Gog the Mild, Bringingthewood, Lightburst, GreenMeansGo, Brat Forelli, BusterD, The Corvette ZR1, and Dylan620, and I wish I could ping everyone who participated in my RfA; though I think that’s not necessary.) ~ Tails Wx 15:29, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Glad to see you're taking it well. I meant what I said about eagerly supporting a future run. Happy new year! Callitropsis🌲[formerly SamX · talk · contribs] 18:02, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter

The article March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter for issues which need to be addressed. --Dylan620 (he/him • talkedits) 02:29, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I want to create an company page. How I can create? --Mohsintaching (talk) 09:52, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, @Mohsintaching! For starters, you can check out Help:Your first article, or you can use the Article wizard. Also noting that if you have a conflict-of-interest with the company, please follow procedures on declaring your conflict-of-interest with the company. Your GA nomination of March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter

The article March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter for comments about the article, and Talk:March 11–15, 2018 nor'easter/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Hi, I would like to recreate the ZAPTA Technologies company page. Last time, someone deleted my page because my Wikipedia account page had a similar name to the company page. I have a problem right now. Someone had added a warning label that 17 Again was Matthew's last film. Can't you do something about this page otherwise it will completely lack sufficient details there. Question from Cobele2013 (09:28, 9 January 2024)

Hi! I signed up for the purpose of editing a wiki article I wrote back in 2006. It was a featured article and then it was unceremoniously removed from the featured content. I feel that was a mistake. I'd like to start a discussion on how we can get it back to being featured. How can I go about doing this? --Cobele2013 (talk) 09:28, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, @Cobele2013! You may start a discussion on the former featured article's talk page on how it can be improved. You can also check the featured article review archives regarding the article concerning what improvements should be made on the article to meet FA criteria. By the way, what was the article you wrote back in 2006? I might be able to help out with you on what specific aspects or issues that need to be addressed. Thanks! ~ Tails Wx 17:31, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
