Victoria Park, Burscough edit

Hi, I remember you asking a while ago if I could get an image for Burscough FC. I managed to snap one of the ground the other day - it's not much, but unfortunately there isn't an awful lot to see from the outside. Better than nothing though! Regards. Transfering images to Commons edit

I use Move-to-commons assistant for this process, which is fairly straightforward. I've only ever moved images from the English Wikipedia, but I imagine it works the same for any language Wikipedia. Give me a shout if you need a hand. :) Small-town hero (talk) 22:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cricketainment is a valid article. if you think so support it, by voting it for restoration. however it cannot be redirected to IPL since cricketainment is a concept and IPL is a tournament by BCCI. if you a follower of T20 you would be knowing that pakistan(PCB) and even England boards are going to implement similar tournaments in the future.

Hello there! I can assure you I'm as equally pleased resolving the location issue! This had been bothering me for a while! I would not have guessed it's wholly in Oldham proper, but I've seen it in black-and-white now.

Re dates, you ask a valid question - one that I asked when I saw such a change. The Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) changed about a month/three weeks ago, meaning that years and dates no longer require wikilinks. Key dates (emphasis), or articles about time or calander systems are still expected to have these linked, but in most topics, it should be avoided. I only found out because of a FA I was involved with recently. --Jza84 |  Talk  12:00, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I didn't delete the other Karl Moore because he didn't have an actual article; he was simply mentioned, with an external link, in a disambiguation page. If you consider that he meets WP:BIO and can underpin this with reliable sources then the way forward is to write a new page called Karl Moore (author).

Please don't shrink the size of image MG_1876.JPG. It is a picture of a field and I feel that you are not able to see it clearly enough if it is that small. —Preceding unsigned comment added by QuentinV (talkcontribs) 19:27, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Smile--it is better alright, and I am sure there's potential here. See, the problem is that the opening sentence describes what this is, and the rest describes (like a cookbook) how to do it, but the claim that it is a significant process is not asserted, let alone proven. I mean, who would want to grow nanocrystals and why? (That's the question an encyclopedia should answer also.) Also, the article from 'V' to 'result' is pretty poorly written, and I don't even understand what that's doing there, in part because, for instance, the sentence starting 'V' is ungrammatical. Are there two vapors in that sentence? You inherited this article and you're defending someone else's work, and that's great, and I appreciate your effort. I'd edit it if I knew what this was about.
This article needs much more correctness, so to speak, and much more about what this process is and why it matters, really. I'll go neutral on the AfD, and I do believe there's promise. Thanks for the good work, and thanks for keeping me posted. Drmies (talk) 15:24, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Niagara county malls edit

I still think this should be split apart. Except for the Rainbow outlets, I'd say each mall is notable enough for its own article, and sources can easily be found (I've got a handful for Lockport Mall alone). I don't think any information would be lost if we split these up, and lumping four unsourced articles into one big unsourced article hasn't really helped much. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 04:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The way forward is to source the existing page up. If you can demonstrate notability for the malls individually then I should be happy to support a split. Smile a While (talk) 20:34, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:VideoEgg.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:VideoEgg.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Galpharm.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Galpharm.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:18, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

This image was photographed explicitly to make it available for Wikipedia and has not been published elsewhere; consequently the chain of permissions that you seek is not really possible. I have added a db-author tag which seems the simplest solution. Smile a While (talk) 22:48, 9 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Smile a While! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 944 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. AfD nomination of Shopping malls in Niagara County edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Shopping malls in Niagara County. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shopping malls in Niagara County. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of ABBYY edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ABBYY, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Ahunt (talk) 14:34, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
