French spacing at The Bear (1988 film)

Hello. I don't know your reasoning for this edit, because you did not use an edit summary. Keep in mind, however, that French spacing in plot summaries or anywhere else in an article is perfectly acceptable per the MOS. The Bear (1988 film) uses this style of spacing, but other articles may not. There's no reason to change just one section of an article to have single spacing, so I've reverted it. Fluf, crtystal balls, and edit summaries

This is primarily about this edit, but some of it is about recurring problems with you edits.

1. Edit summaries: Bluntly - USE them. Your constant lack of using them makes it impossible to understand exactly what you are trying to accomplish. This is beyond frustrating since a good chunk f you edits appear constructive.
2. Fluff: Please stop adding unneeded plot detail to sections and articles. And yes, the majority of the plot info you add is unneeded. It either adds no value to the casual reader's understand of the topic(s) or is geared to fans only.
3. Crystal balls: The articles are not crystal balls. That goes beyond making assumptions of future events or posible popularity. It means "The story is on going." does not get added to plot sections for ongoing comic books or characters apearing in them. It also means that an entire section devoted to the singular line "Info coming soon..." will not stand. Full stop.

I am wondering the same thing, especially regarding links to subheadings, I don't know why you seem to keep removing those. Anyway, if you want something positive to work on, I think all the Avengers Academy characters now have their own pages, and they could use a lot of work. Incorrect piping

Characters of Spyro the Dragon

Hi, please do not add minor characters to Characters of Spyro the Dragon like you did here. It is very unnecessary. Each character should be able to have a good deal of information on them. If they can only be 1-3 sentences, they don't need to be in this article. This counts for both good characters like the "Dragons of Artisans", and the bosses like "Crush" and "Gulp". This is not a "List of every character in Spyro that has a name". There are Wikias for that purpose.

Also, naming the section "Moneybags the Bear" is as unnecessary as "Crush the Caveman". As far as I know, they are never referred to as such, so only their actual name should be shown.

I would appreciate it if you fixed the things I mentioned here. I would have reverted your edit, but you did good things as well, so I would have to go in and manually fix things. Plus, I want you to learn so you don't just do it again. Thanks, _Blake ^{(Talk·Edits)} 19:39, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Nobody needs to know about the minor characters to understand the series. They should be explained in the parent article of the game they appear in. Any further information is not needed. The Dragons from the first game are mentioned in the game article. They don't need to be listed and named. That kind of detail is not needed for the average Joe to understand the game. You should also know that you're violating some WP policies. First, WP:SOURCES, which states that you shouldn't add any new content without including a reliable source. WP:OR, which is related, states that you shouldn't add any information you've observed yourself, even if it's an old episode you remember fondly. It's customary and good manners to bring up any substantial edits on the article's talk page; see WP:TPG. You should also know that a consensus and policy has already been reached on these lists [4]. We're trying very hard to provide reliable sources for this and other SS lists. Editing issues

A number of things:

• As asked above in January: Why are you removing links from articles? And I'll go one better: Why are you tinkering with links that do not need to be tinkered with? With in an article or list it is acceptable to point to a header in another article.
• Adding a sub head or a bullet point for or to a single item is improper. Period.
• Converting multiple, sizable paragraphs into one massive, run on bullet point damages the legibility of a section.
• Adding every actor and or character that has ever appeared in a show to the base article is unacceptable.
• Start using edit summaries. It may not help with most of these issues, but at least you would be explaining why you are removing links or material and why you feel the need to boost list of examples.

Bluntly:

• Take the time to use edit summaries. We cannot read your mind.
• If you cannot be bothered - no I do not buy "FireFox is at fault" since I don't seem to have the issue with that browser - you are being willfully disruptive.
• Removing "#section" or direct links to articles damages articles. Period. If you cannot edit without damaging articles, stop editing. You've gotten pinged on this way to often.

I read your response and I agree with J Greb; that is not an excuse. I use Firefox and I have no idea what problem you're talking about; it has never happened to me. Just don't remove links or the piping of links. It's that simple.

Many of your edits are very good and helpful, but because you have so many bad edits and you never enter an edit summary I always assume your edits include a mistake and double check them if I see them. I don't want to see you blocked because you can be helpful, but I am also tired of frequently fixing mistakes like this (or my previous endeavor to get you to use the proper headings) because it takes so long for you to change your behavior. Iron Man Armored Adventures - Guardsman and O'Brien

"The O'Brian that works for Obadiah Stane in Iron Man: Armored Adventures has no relation to the Guardsmen from the comics." - And what makes you so sure of that? The two comics Guardsmen share the same name and - in a way - the same profession with the Iron Man AA O`Brien, and the entire series is regularly laced with hidden and not-so-hidden references to other Iron Man characters, some of them heavily altered. For instance, Whiplash and the Fixer (Mister Fix) have become cyborgs; the Gene Khan Mandarin is a youngster who rebels aginst the original Mandarin; the Titanium Man is not a Russian renegade scientist, but the name of Justin Hammer's battlesuit. So why can't O'Brien and the armored Guardsmen be two separate interpretations of the same character? Got any solid proof? Websites, interviews and such? DanielC46 (talk) 20:15, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't matter where it comes from; it has to be specified. While readers and editors can presume that information from a movie can be found in its credits, this is not the case for a TV show, which is composed of multiple episodes. This is why we have the cite episode template. You can find it here, and it's explained in further detail here.

Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

Hi. How is the qualifier you added to the article an "update"? To update something means to bring it in line with new information that has come into light. What is the new information that indicates that Aaron's death was only an apparent one? Miles' father flat-out tells him that Aaron was dead in issue #13, which is why that issue is cited at the end of that passage. Nightscream (talk) 22:59, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Again, I think Miles' dad flat-out telling him that Aaron is dead makes it pretty clear. Prior to issue #13, you'll notice that I wrote the passage so that it said "This leads to an altercation between the uncle and nephew that results an explosion that severely injures Aaron." After his dad, Jefferson, confirmed his death in #13, I changed it. If you're reading the series, you should've read that (I guess you missed it), but if you look at the edit history and see that that material was added by me, that should've told you it was legit, since I don't add material without a cited source that makes it clear.

Spider-Men is pretty good, but I'm waiting for something substantial to happen on a character level. I'm not reading AvX. Are you on Facebook? Nightscream (talk) 00:03, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

I'm fairly certain that I've explained this to you, but I'll do it again just in case. According to the list's talk page, there has been a policy developed regarding appropriate and reliable sources. Also see WP:RS. My issue is that the Behind the Voices website simply doesn't fulfill WP's requirements for reliable sources. The YouTube clip, however, fulfills the criteria; if you cited it, I think that it would be a better choice. YouTube clips don't tend to list the puppeteers, which is why the Sesame Street.org bios are more reliable than YouTube clips. Please stop adding plot details to the article. Such articles have to summarize the character, and should only mention major events. If you want to add details from each issue, might I suggest doing so with the List of Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man story arcs article? WP:Real world. Feel free to add notes about how a character's portrayal differs from the comics, how a portrayal impacted pop culture as a whole, etc. But blow-by-blow, episode-by-episode, or scene-to-scene plot summaries of the spin-off material is not appropriate for comic character articles. White space

Reorganizing the in other media sections of the comic characters to add a ton of unnecessary white space is not helpful and very counter-productive. The image does not need to be directly beside the line it pertains to, it can be near the relevant section. It is often much cleaner to do just that, especially when there are only a few blank spaces. Adding the space template (Template:-) only serves to break the flow of a page when the image only pertains to one item on a list of items. -Fandraltastic (talk) 18:55, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Why was the page moved in the first place? I wasn't aware that it was. It should probably be moved back, as that was the show's formal/production title, and that's where all the links head. The picture overlapping the media section is intentional. That's why there's usually one image per "other media" section. The template just creates a bunch of unnecessary white space in most cases. That's a template that should only be used sparingly, when it needs to be to clean up a page's flow (for instance, if the section above "other media" has an image that hangs into it, or if something hangs into the "references" section). Please do not add superfluous details or headings to articles, as you did with this edit to Red Hulk. It is not the role of articles to detail every single fight that a character has been in. As for headings, they are not decorative, nor arbitrary. They are used to when sections have grown so large that they need to be divided into subsections. I asked you a question 1 month ago. I'm still trying to contact the person. Who wrote the whole page on Asclepius on Wikidoc. She does not have a talk page. And the guy from the Cyclops page. Gold Dragon his account was deleted because he had more then on account name. untail I can contact the woman from Wikidoc to answear my question. I have one final question for you. and i'm going to bother you with it again. My question in responce to what you told me a month ago. You said you cant remember where you heard about. Zeus freeing the Cyclopes from Hades. That being said you also told me you read Theoi. So do I. I have read everything on Theoi. It's source of information. My question is how to you edit information. Do you copy off of other Wikipedia pages. I ask this because I read false information on Wikipedia before. Most of the time information is correct but I have seen. False information put on there before. Which is why I never trust what I read on Wikipedia. It's good I can Talk to you. To get to know you a little better. I would like to know do you use published sources. Do you read a lot of greek mythology books. Where does your knowlege come from. Anchors in the biographies of comic character articles

Why are you removing them? They break up the enormously long sections, allowing readers to jump in and not be overwhelmed. They also help with the table of contents at the top of the page. The anchors help with maintenance, allowing users to edit a portion of the enormous section and jump right to it from the table of contents. You can use the main template right below the anchor if you want to link to an article on the storyline/series. I undid the whole edit so I wouldn't have to go back and readd the anchors one-by-one, sorry about getting rid of the Avengers stuff. Feel free to readd that. Some Examples (errors in bold italic):... Sam the Eagle is showin hosting "Everything Stinks" on WGF News, Scooter is working at Google, Crazy Harry is shown replacing the Abraham Lincoln head on Mount Rushmore with his head, and Sweetums is shown chasing after them again after leaving "Mad Man Mooney and Sons." After 'unseen pick-ups of Rowlf the Dog (who pick-up was shown' in a cutaway) and Swedish Chef, the Muppets head to Paris where they finds Miss Piggy working as Vogue Paris's editor for "plus-sized" fashion. Unable to convince Miss Piggy to return, the group replaces her with Moopet counterpart Miss Poogy. The Muppets pitch their telethon idea to several television networks like FOX, NBC, and Univision, but are rejected. There fourth attempt occured at CDE where it's executive Veronica shows the Muppets the popular shows out now and states that the Muppets aren't famous anymore. I've been telling you this for some time, and you seem to just ignore this or go back to your old habits after biding some time: Material in articles needs to be summarized. An article on Doctor Octopus is not a rundown or index of every single plot detail from every media appearance he's ever made. That material was removed for a reason. Please do not restore it again. It is not the role of Wikipedia to detail the plot of every story a given character has appeared in, whether that character is Doctor Octopus, Batman, Sherlock Holmes or Tarzan. An article about a character summarizes that information about that character. Articles on comic book characters will generally focus on major events that occur in the medium in which that character originated or is mostly known (comics), and then provide capsule information on appearances in other media.

To update something is to add new or recent information to make something up to date. It does not refer to merely adding detail. Nightscream (talk) 16:14, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

I just thought I would point out that you were using a particular word incorrectly, aside from the more salient issue of detail bloat. But if you really want a suggestion, when I add material to article, I generally use "Added material with source", or in the case of minor details, "Detail". Hi Rtkat3. Typically I have no quarrel with your contributions, because I can tell that you want to do a good job. However, some of your contributions are either too verbose, contain trivia, or are written in a way that is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. Excess parentheticals for example (Some of the info you're submitting doesn't belong in parentheses, like this sentence). Additionally, I would appreciate it if you would not revert edits without explaining the impetus for your reversion. I chopped a lot of unnecessary info and drivel from this article, and I explained my edits on the Talk Page. I don't understand why you feel "Ninja Turtles" is more appropriate than "Turtles" in an encyclopedia. But to me, "Ninja" would be their title or honorific, similar to "Dr." Per WP:SURNAME, we don't need to repeat their titles, just like we don't need to keep repeating Chris Bradford's first name every time we mention Bradford. And if you can explain why: "In 'The Gauntlet', Bradford and Xever go after the Turtles again and are exposed to mutagen which transforms him into the spike-backed dog-like mutant Dogpound (with the mutation being contributed by Chris Bradford being previously bitten by Shredder's pet Akita Hachiko)" is better than" " In 'The Gauntlet', Bradford and Xever go after the Turtles again and are exposed to mutagen. As Bradford previously came into contact with a dog, the mutagen transforms him into Dogpound, a spike-backed dog-like mutant with a large left arm." As a follow-up to that question, I'm curious how you know Fishface's fangs are venomous, or that the dog that bit Bradford was an Akita. List of Transformers: Prime characters

Hello. I noticed that once again you've removed everything I've contributed to the List of Transformers: Prime characters article without giving good reasons as to why. Don't think I don't notice. I'm sending you this message out of curiosity, what exactly is wrong with the things I contribute to the article? I made the lead section longer and more detailed because the "Multiple Issues" box says that the one short sentence you seem to love so much doesn't adequately summarize the article's contents. The lead section I wrote is more informative and gives a bit of background on the series. Why must it be only one sentence? Also, you have never given a proper explanation as to what is wrong with separating the character bios into sections like "Main Cast" and "Minor Cast". It's something that most List of Characters articles on Wikipedia do, it defines the character bios a lot more easily and it gives the reader a better idea of who each character is and what role they play in the series. You keep removing them but have never explained why they're bad. I've seen edit summaries like "Let's not do that", but I want to know exactly why. I want you to tell me why you don't like these certain things, but you don't seem to communicate with anyone, and you don't seem to be okay with any edit or contribution made to that article which wasn't done by you. That didn't really answer any of my questions. I've recently been removing the "Deceased Characters" bits and merging them with the "Other" sections, like putting Cliffjumper and Tailgate along with Wheeljack, but other contributors put it back. I'm annoyed because you take out every single section title, including the "Main Cast" ones. There's nothing wrong with separating character bios into sections. Also, the reason I take out the bios of Seaspray, The Fallen and Solus Prime is because they haven't actually appeared in the show properly, they're only mentioned in dialogue, and I believe that only characters that have actually physically appeared in the show warrant inclusion in the article because, well, they've actually physically appeared in the show. Also, I don't understand your point about learning more about new characters in the third season, getting new characters in season 3 is a no-brainer, but how does that answer my question about why you shortened the lead section or take out section titles? You don't have to include information about the Iacon relics at all. It's a character page, not a general information page. There's enough information on the Iacon relics in the episode article. I've noticed that you have a habit of stuffing articles to the gills with information that the article would be perfectly fine without, I've seen what you did to the Doctor Octopus article. Sometimes less is more and more is less, and you don't have to go over everything. And as I said, I no longer include a "Deceased Characters" title, but other contributors (who hide behind IP addresses) like to put it back when I remove it. It's a wee bit out of my hands. And as for other list of Transformers articles not being split into sections, look at the one for Transformers Animated, that is what I have in mind for the Prime article. And even outside of Transformers, other list of character pages such as this one separate character bios into easy-to-read sections. I have a feeling that our conversation is just going to go round in circles, you'll keep avoiding answering my questions until I smash my computer's monitor and you won't take anything on board. You still haven't answered why you shortened the opening paragraph when the Multiple Issues box says it's not an adequate summary. I'm going to continue to contribute to the article even if my contributions aren't valued or respected, because who knows? One day I actually might start being treated equally. I don't care what you were trying to do. The point remains that material in articles needs to be relevant to the article and supported by citations. The article is not about the Avengers, so it is not important to detail their roster, and the mention of Osborn and Octopus' plans were not sourced. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
