In Automatic Warning System, what is TBL? Tabletop (talk) 09:01, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

TBL is another type of Automatic Train Protection (ATP), and can also refer to a Belgian safety system called Transmission Beacon-Locomotive. TBL (as ATP) is not found inside Automatic Train Protection article & you can see it in MTR EMU SP1900.

Image permission problem with Image:BVEHistory1.gif edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:BVEHistory1.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 87.123.98.39 (talk) 14:45, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

An article you contributed to maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you edit

The article you helped contribute to: BVE Trainsim may be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster you respond on this page, the better chance the article you created can be saved.

Finding sources which mention the topic of this article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted {{Findsources3}}:

Find sources for BVE Trainsim: google news recent, google news old, google books, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

Also, there are several tools and helpful editors on Wikipedia who can help you:

1. List the page on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
2. At any time, you can ask any administrator to move your article to a special page. (Called userfication)

3. You can request a mentor to help you: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
4. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. These acronyms don't need to intimidate you. Here is a list of acronyms you can use yourself: Deletion debate acronyms, which will help you argue that the article should be kept.

If the page you edited is deleted, you also have many options available. Good luck! Ikip (talk) 00:51, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:250px-JNR-485-Hitachi.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:250px-JNR-485-Hitachi.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:03, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:OSeriesSkcar21-7000.gif edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:OSeriesSkcar21-7000.gif. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 17:09, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mtrc79.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Mtrc79.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • Anakin (talk) 13:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Mtrc79.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Mtrc79.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Help with undoing block 2 May 2011 edit

I find it rather suspicious that you're editing from the same IP address as a different editor, blocked for repeated copyright violoations, when it seems you've been repeatedly warned for the same problem. Can you explain this please? —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 06:37, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Tived, I strongly suspect that there might be a bot causing me to be accidentally autoblocked in this case. The last copyright violation problem causing me to be banned was last mentioned in my talk page almost two years ago and such a time span wouldn't warrant an autoblock on my account with which weak justifications were given. Can u please review my request again (even though the ban has expired) and inform me of any solutions to this problem, as well as Rizan's take on my issue, tks.--Mbssbs (talk) 09:43, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

March 2012 edit

Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Tsurumai Line. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this article.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 12:21, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your Recent Edits 1/4/2014 edit

Dear Mbssbs,

I have noticed your recent edits to the Selena article. You have edited the info box and changed the birth name from "Selena Quintanilla" to "Selena Quintanilla Zamora". I have undone your edits, because they are incorrect. Selena was not born in Mexico or any other Latin American country, so the Spanish naming customs do not apply to her. Selena was born in the United States, and people born in the U.S. are only given the father's last name when they are born. In Selena's case her last name is "Quintanilla". Please refrain from making edits like this in the future, because people who read these articles will get the wrong information. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Tejanorules (talk) 06:52, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

December 2014 edit

Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Minami-morimachi Station.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. DAJF (talk) 12:46, 24 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Infobox Japan station edit

Hi. Thanks for your work in adding infoboxes to Japanese station articles. Please have a look at the documentation for the infobox at Template:Infobox Japan station. As you'll see, we only add the year to the "Open" field. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, the field is labelled "Year opened" in the infobox displayed in the article, and more importantly, the field is used to generate the category "Railway stations opened in XXXX", and this feature won't work unless a four-digit year is entered. Hope this clears up any confusion. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 08:01, 25 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Tokyo Monorail 10000 series, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Hi, I noticed that you added a Substack source to 103 series. It was removed because Substack posts, in many cases, are considered self-published and thus unacceptable for use. Sources edit

You have warnings dating back to 2015 regarding your edits: you frequently fail to provide sources, and the sources you provide often don't support the claims you're adding to articles. I (and others) have reverted many of your edits for this very reason. Please start following the policies at WP:Verifiability, WP:Citing sources, and WP:Reliable sources. I'll be honest: I'm afraid there won't be any more options than to report you to ANI if you don't. This has been going on for way too long. I don't want to ask you again, nor should anybody else have to. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 02:16, 11 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll second the request from XtraJovial above: @Mbssbs: please cite your sources when adding content to articles! I just partly undone your edits to High-speed rail in Poland, because the content you added to the rolling stock section was unsourced, with the sources currently in the article also not verifying the stuff you added.
