Latin WikiProject edit

I am not sure whether you are familiar with a WikiProject or not (a description can be found here) but I'm planning on starting one for the Latin language. This is mainly because Latin is and has been such an important language in the history of western civilization but the article is only rated a 'C'. If you support my proposal then please sign your name on the proposal page here. 95jb14 95jb14 (talk) 12:58, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! 95jb14 (talk) 15:10, 17 August 2009 (UTC).Reply

No problem I will do what I can and what time will allow. I do think it was a good idea to start a WikiProject on the Latin language though. --Lucius Sempronius Turpio (talk) 11:35, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Latin WikiProjest launched edit

I have launched the WP and got it set up and running. I was wondering whether you would have a look. 95jb14 (talk) 18:31, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry was on a break. Yes I do plan on taking a look at it, and even helping with the project. Thanks for the invite the project is sure to be fun. At the risk of sounding "nerdy" I must say anything that has to do with Latin is always fun. --Lucius Sempronius Turpio (talk) 16:41, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Omnis/Omnia Gallia edit

Having never formally studied Latin, I am still pondering the Omnis v. "Omnia Gallia" debate. About 65% of Google-Search sources say "Omnia Gallia" ("All Gaul"), while 30% say "Omnis Gallia" ("Every Gaul"?):

  • Omnia Gallia in tres partes divisa est (...and the other...)
  • Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres.

Any opinions about this, or finding the original rewrites of Commentarii de Bello Gallico which would show either "Omnia Gallia" or "Omnis Gallia"? There's no hurry on this: it's been a few thousand years. -Wikid77 (talk) 03:02, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Michael Guillen edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Michael Guillen, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://premierespeakers.com/michael_guillen/bio.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of Michael Guillen edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Michael Guillen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
