  Guideline and policy news

  • A request for comment is open that proposes a process for the community to revoke administrative permissions. This follows a 2019 RfC in favor of creating one such a policy.
  • A request for comment is in progress to remove F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a, which covers immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags.
  • A request for comment seeks to grant page movers the delete-redirect userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target. The full proposal is at Wikipedia:Page mover/delete-redirect.
  • A request for comment asks if sysops may place the General sanctions/Coronavirus disease 2019 editnotice template on pages in scope that do not have page-specific sanctions?
  • There is a discussion in progress concerning automatic protection of each day's featured article with Pending Changes protection.

  Technical news

  • When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage.
  • When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision.
  • There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322).

page translation France Vitrail International

Draft:France Vitrail International (Stained Glass)

Hello Keith, I saw you edited the page i'm trying to realize. Thank a lot for that! I'm not sure that I understood what to do... I did, after you, some edit but I saw it was not what I had to do, as all the ref are not at the good places (after reading the Help page I thought it was just about the links and not the ref) I tried to undone my changes but I have to do it manually. I would be pleased that we can speak a bit about what to do and how to do it. If you have time later. It's still a draft so we have time. Thank you again for your help, have a great and peaceful day

I have fixed the page layout problems of mis-matched </ref> tags and also the reference date errors. Keith D (talk) 12:56, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Mick McCarthy

Hello Keith,

I do not understand why you reverted my edit on Mick McCarthy's page. The link I used to get his number of games from 994 to 999 was this: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9329329/Mick-McCarthy-set-charge-1-000th-game-manager-against-Huddersfield-Town.html.

This link proves that four games were missing from his page, so therefore I've made the page factually accurate and it also proves that tonight is McCarthy's 1,000th game as a manager. Another link is below:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56291119

Thanks, 176.253.239.91 (talk) 15:03, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

The problem was that there were a number of references removed and scanning it I could not make sense of what was going on as you had not explained the edit in the edit summary field. By the way the Daily Mail is not classed as a reliable source. Keith D (talk) 15:08, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

OK understood, is this link reliable?

Infobox error

A see that you have edited Template:Infobox UK England county recently. Can you take a look at the errors in Northamptonshire (in the unitary authority section). The article changed recently which caused this, but I can figure out what is wrong. MB 21:46, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

@MB: Hello, before my edit it was converted to a wrapper for {{Infobox settlement}}. If the problem refers to the convert of area and density it looks like that needs |gss_code= setting for unitary authorities and it is not set for Northamptonshire. Keith D (talk) 22:41, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
OK, that seems to be the problem. I put in an incorrect GSS code and the errors were gone. But with the what I believe is the correct code (E10000021), a population number shows up but the area is still missing. Where does the area actually come from? Is there some other template involved? MB 23:05, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
@MB: Hello, the area comes from {{English district area}} & {{English district area rank}} to which |gss_code= is passed. Keith D (talk) 23:13, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
South and East Northamptonshire are in those tables, but not Northamptonshire. I am really too unfamiliar with English geography and government to know what to do next (i.e. was the infobox correct two days ago or does Northamptonshire belong in those tables now and if so, where to get the area and ranking?) Can you suggest a place to leave a note about this. MB 23:33, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
@MB: You could try at the project WP:WikiProject UK geography or may be the users who modified the template Keith Edkins or The Equalizer. Keith D (talk) 23:44, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello Keith D & MB, the wrong field had been incorrectly populated by the user prior to @MB in the Infobox, so tidied that up and it all shows correctly now (considering the user was making changes in advance of the council being abolished in April) - Regs, The Equalizer (talk) 02:19, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
@The Equalizer: Many thanks for fixing the problem. Keith D (talk) 11:26, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

First Time Translator Requesting Guidance

Draft:Ghafour Youssefiani

Greetings Keith from Washington DC, I am hoping to get guidance from you on what more I might need to do to have an article I've translated from Persian into English? A "first timer" I am looking to learn the translation process, hoping to further contribute. One issue is, though I have ensured the Persian copy being translated is the most current, I keep getting an error that the copy being translated is an earlier version, which is not so. Reaching out to you because you edited an earlier version of the article on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ghafour_Youssefiani Kind regards, - Marty — Preceding unsigned comment added by مهرداد یوسفیانی (talkcontribs) 19:05, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello Marty, sorry but I have no knowledge of the translation process. I edited the article to fix the cite date error messages that were being displayed. You may find the answers to problems over the translation process at Wikipedia:Translation, though some text from that page has recently been moved to Help:Translation. Pipe fix

Hi, Keith D, and thanks for this fix to a missing pipe at Ordinance of 9 August 1944. How do you manage to find stuff like that, just happened to be browsing, or something more organized? Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 20:49, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, articles go into Category:CS1 maint: PMC format that is a hidden category which can be seen by setting the option in your preferences. (Appearance tab, Advanced options, Show hidden categories). You can also get inline text to show which reference is causing the problem by following the instructions on the category page. Middlesbrough and Stockton Council area

The town of Middlesbrough includes the TS2 area which mostly lies within Stockton-on-Tees council boundaries. This is written within the Wikipedia page:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Clarence

I will include external references to verify the accuracy of this information to this segment of the page Lbooth89 (talk) 20:14, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

I have found more overlap in the TS8 area too. I'll add this as a reference. Lbooth89 (talk) 20:29, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Further verification for the reason for change. See TS2 and TS8:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TS_postcode_area

How do I include external sources? Lbooth89 (talk) 20:47, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

@Lbooth89: It is not Post Code areas that are used for the determining of the authority the place is in as Post Codes are just for the convenience of the post office. You need to have just areas that relate to the council area (under the council jurisdiction) and none of Middlesbrough is covered by Stockton-on-Tees council. Keith D (talk) 21:07, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

You are mistaking council area for the town itself. What has happened to the Redcar and Cleveland bit too? Eston, Ormesby, Normanby, South Bank and Grangetown are all suburbs of Middlesbrough. Lbooth89 (talk) 22:45, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Please see the talk page there is a much broader discussion of what "Middlesbrough" actually is. Koncorde (talk) 00:53, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

WikiProject Yorkshire/Watch All & WikiProject Yorkshire/Articles

Hi Keith: Wanted to let you know I've moved Ann Walker of Lightcliffe to Ann Walker (landowner) per an editor's suggestion/request and support of a 2nd editor. All discussion is on the talk page. The move should bring the page name into compliance with WP:NCPDAB policies. While updating the links to prevent double redirects I came across two WikiProject Yorkshire pages (as listed in the subhead above) and thought you might want to know. Watch All & Articles will need to be updated accordingly. Wasn't sure if these were pulled by hand, a SQL query or some sort of script so I didn't want to mess with them. Also the pages took to long to load for me because I usually work on my phone. Hit me up if you have questions or need a hand. Cheers. Kimdorris (talk) 10:54, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I used to create them with a script, but changes caused the script to fail. I switched to using AWB and changed the naming of the files, it is a little fiddly, so they do not get updated so often but will pick it up when I next generate the pages. Keith D (talk) 20:59, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Talk:Arn Gill

You might be interested in this one, which possibly is and isn't on your patch. The original article has apparently been deleted, and subsequently merged (a little) with River Gaunless, to which it is a tributary. There is a Welsh copy of the original Arn Gill article here, and a Commons category for it here. I think that what happened was that the original article was categorised as a village, although it is actually a beck in Langleydale, County Durham here. So maybe it got deleted because no-one could find the supposed village, and no-one was looking for a beck. (Note also, it's ARN Gill, not AM Gill - easy to misread).

At the same time, there is another Arn Gill in North Yorkshire, and that one is a ravine which contains ruined lead mines called Arn Gill Mines, here. The existing Commons category and Welsh article (both linked above) refer to County Durham, though, so I guess we must be dealing with that one.

I'd like to reinstate the article, though, even if it's only a stub, but with the correct co-ord and categories. What do you think? Storye book (talk) 14:10, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Yes I would recreate a stub to cover the County Durham entry, though may be best to place at Arn Gill (County Durham) as not really the main article for the term. Keith D (talk) 20:53, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Talk:York/Archive 1

Hi Keith, I probably owe you an explanation for my latest moves with this page along with Talk:York. I found it while following links and, when I check a talk page, it is my habit to check its earliest revision to see if its text was removed in later edits. (This can surprisingly often cough up buried treasure (or junk, if you will). Anyway when I checked the history at Talk:York, I was very confused when the first revision had "new section" in its edit summary; I had *never* encountered that before. I noticed you doing a history split on the page but didn't really understand its purpose, so I undertook to put the history back where I thought it belonged, by moving some edits at Talk:York to Talk:York/Archive 1. After some thought and going through your move log, searching it for moves of archive pages, I realised there was actually a method to your madness, and that my history fiddling made the history at Talk:York/Archive 1 more confusing. Therefore I put everything back where it was initially. I think I've done everything correctly but it's ridiculously late at night here so I may have made a mistake; feel free to double-check my work. I'm aware that you no longer do these talk archive moves in the main namespace. Graham87 20:55, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Are you OK?

I have noticed that you were making a considerable output on WP until 26 March, but have not contributed since then, and that (unusually for you) you have not put up your wikibreak notice. So please could you kindly let us know that you are OK? Please forgive me for asking such a question - but the present climate tends to give a cause for concern these days. Your contributions have always been highly valued, and your presence here is currently very much missed. All the best. Storye book (talk) 08:08, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

I too am as concerned as Storye book is. Your absence is notable. Here's hoping everything is okay with you Keith. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 07:40, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
@Storye book and The joy of all things: Hello & thanks for the consern. I am OK, my PC died and have had to wait until the unlock on April 12th to get it into a repair shop. I now have a new hard drive in the PC but have to get things back up and running - what a pain. Keith D (talk) 00:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Glad to hear it, Keith D. I am sure you have a backlog! If you need any help, just ask. Happy editing. The joy of all things (talk) 06:01, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
If you want too help you could convert the new references in Kingston upon Hull to use cite templates for consistency. Keith D (talk) 20:39, 17 April 2021 (UTC)  Y - that's a big article; it take ages to resolve when editing! Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 20:20, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Many thanks for that. Keith D (talk) 20:29, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Good news! So glad to hear you're OK. Now, of course we'll expect you to put in extra hours to make up for it - there's a big pile of wrong-sort-of-hyphens that's built up in Yorkshire new articles ... (just joking). Good to see you back. Storye book (talk) 10:10, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Harv error - false positive

Hi KeithD: I see you fixed references to Marshal's Royal Naval Biography that were throwing up harv cite errors. Following the suggestions of @PBS: I recently made a large number of Marshall cites in dozens of ship articles. Is the cite error a general problem that I need to take account of when creating the citations, or were the cases you fixed specific glitches? Please advise. Acad Ronin (talk) 15:18, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I think it is a general problem because of the intermediate template that is used to call the {{cite *}} template. I suspect every instance will cause the problem, unless something can be done with the {{cite RNB1823}} template (or similar) to avoid the problem. Keith D (talk) 15:25, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Can you explain to me what the problem is? Or at least the page which was edited to fix the problem so that I can see what it is. -- PBS (talk) 15:42, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
I presume it is HMS Scout (1804) history. Specifically this edit which suppressed the appearance of the article in category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors by tagging the parameter "ignore-err=yes" into {{sfnp|Marshall|1832|p=154|ignore-err=yes}}. Is that correct? -- PBS (talk) 16:01, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Assuming this is the error I checked the article using {{Cite NBD1849}} and it places the article into the same tracking category, but {{cite EB1911}} which is also a wrapper does not. In other words it appears that there is something incorrect in {{cite RNB1823}} (Marshall) and {{Cite NBD1849}} (O'Byrne). I have already checked and it is not multiple instances of either template causing the error so it must be something else and I will run some tests to try to identify what. In the meantime please do not add any "ignore-err=yes" parameters as that is a sticking plaster over the error and does not effect what the reader is seeing. -- PBS (talk) 16:38, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

OK found it. This is a really nasty problem because it only shows up in article space, not in tempate or user space so it has to be tested for in article space.

The explanation is here: Category:Harv_and_Sfn_template_errors#Current_limitations_and_false-positive_errors — these two wrapper templates need to be added to Module:Footnotes/whitelist. I've spent a lot more time on Wikipedia today that I budgeted for user:Keith D please could you make the request to add {{cite RNB1823}} (Marshall) and {{Cite NBD1849}} (O'Byrne) to Module:Footnotes/whitelist? -- PBS (talk) 17:31, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello, it was on HMS Acheron (1803) that the edits were made as well to remove the error message and category listing for the article.
Would not adding the wrapper template to a whitelist prevent any actual errors been shown if it ignores all cases of template usage? Keith D (talk) 20:42, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
My boat is currently moored in a spot with very spotty internet access. Short answer is no. My tests yesterday used {{Cite EB1911}} as a known benchmark and it worked as one expects showing up the same errors as {{cite encyclopedia}} (around which it wraps), which is how I found out about that list. -- PBS (talk) 15:47, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
I have added a request to "Module talk:Footnotes" for these two templates to be added to the list. -- PBS (talk) 16:14, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for adding requests, I was just cautious in case we were going to lose error messages. There has to be a better way of handling this. (The e-mail service does not appear to be working as have not got notification of your edits to my talk page). Keith D (talk) 21:42, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Reviewing Fundbox Suggested Edits?

Hi there Keith D! I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at our suggested edits on the Fundbox TALK page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fundbox We have suggested updates to this page to fill out Key People in the Infobox - open to any feedback as well. I noticed you've edited the page before so thought you could be helpful! Thanks!CameronSays (talk) 17:12, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

I can not see any problem with adding the information to the article, though I would add the publication date |date= to the last 2 references for completeness. Keith D (talk) 21:45, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
Keith D Thank you very much for the review and suggestion! I have added those dates on the Talk page. Would you be able to push these suggestions live? It's my understanding that an editor should handle. Thank you again! CameronSays (talk) 22:07, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Thank you very much Keith D, I've got another one look is semi-protected as well, (Mayer (apellido) Goes with Mayer (name)), and could you Rename the page in English "Mayer (name)" as "Mayer (surname)" due to it's too much frequent as a surname and the country of origin is use as surname as practically around the world, thank you so much!!! RossiLeone (talk) 01:43, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I have added the link. The rename probably needs discussing as it contains given names and surnames - may be start a discussion on talk page. See WP:Move. Keith D (talk) 08:29, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

PMC Warnings

Hi, sorry about the PMC warnings you've been having to fix. Do you know if there's a way to prevent them happening when adding papers using the citation editor? Or is it just a case of mopping up afterwards? Red Fiona (talk) 18:10, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, it is probably a case of mopping up afterwards. All the cite creation tools have their different problems. I tend to clear out the PMC tracking category as it usually goes along with cite date errors which is what I am slowly tackling but not making much progress! Keith D (talk) 18:33, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Help required

good evening Keith D I need help on my draft article Gregson maluma. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcgraham giyan (talkcontribs) 18:26, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I have had an initial tidy of the formatting. The main problem is the references which appear to be placed randomly at top and bottom of the article, these need to be moved into the text at the end of the sentence that they support. Keith D (talk) 18:56, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

China PX protest article review

Hi! Thanks so much for your contribution to the China PX protest article earlier. I have recently updated the article, and was wondering if you have time to offer some feedbacks for the new edits? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainyyang (talkcontribs) 00:09, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

@Rainyyang: Hello, I have had a look at the article and comments on it are -
  1. The lead could do this expanding to cover the content of the article, especially where is this chemical plant?
  2. What is DMT & NGO?
  3. Need a wikilink for purified terephthalic acid & polyester.
  4. I would add a summary to "2011 Dalian Protest" section from the linked article.
  5. There appears to be a mix of reference styles - for example ref 11 looks like CS2 while rest appear to be CS1 style.
  6. Ref 19 needs a full date & accessdate.
  7. Make (Li et al., 2017) in to a reference.
  8. There are some strange line breaks so need some non-breaking spaces adding between figure and million/billion.
That should keep you going for a bit. Keith D (talk) 08:17, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@Keith D:, Hi! Thank you so much for the comments, I have updated the article according to them. Would you mind having another look and giving me some tips on how to upgrade it to a C-class article? Rainyyang (talk) 23:56, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
@Rainyyang: Hello, not in bad shape now, a few minor comments to help it along.
  1. I would remove China from headings as that is implied by the article title.
  2. Numbers need formatting. Normally add a comma every 3 digits i.e. 10000 is formatted as 10,000.
  3. The date format needs to be consistent throughout the article. Mostly day first format, but I spotted a month first one (September 28) in "2011 Dalian protest"
  4. Need to do conversions from metric into imperial for those who do not use the metric system. Suggest using the {{convert}} template for this.
  5. Maybe look at the "See also" section as the portal links overrun into the "References" section and cause the references to be squeezed. You could add a {{clear}} template to push the "References" below the portal box, or you could switch to using the {{portal bar}} template to put them horizontal.
  6. A caption to first image would be helpful.
Keith D (talk) 18:15, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@Keith D:, Thank you so much for the suggestions! I have edited the article again and hopefully these issues have been addressed. :) Rainyyang (talk) 11:30, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Agreed Measures for the Conservation of Antarctic Fauna and Flora

Hi! I noticed your edit on the Agreed Measures article and was wondering if you could give me any other advice/tips to get this article upgraded from a stub to c-class! Thanks Bambixie (talk) 04:25, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

@Bambixie: Hello, I have had a quick look and have the following comments on the article -
  1. Remove the embedded external links from the text.
  2. References in the lead should be moved to the body of the text where the detail is given.
  3. There are several duplicate wikilinks i.e. SCAR, which are not needed.
  4. There appears to be a mix of reference styles - for example ref 5 & 6 looks like CS2 while the rest appear to be CS1 style.
  5. We generally do not wikilink countries (personally I do not agree with this one).
  6. Appear to be a problem with the heading levels. Level 1 should not be used. Probably just change "Other Agreements" to level 2.
That is it for quick look, have to get ready to go out now. Keith D (talk) 08:35, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

DIO Holbeach AWR

Hi Keith,

Please could stop undoing all my Holbeach edits. Perhaps instead of undoing them you should have asked yourself if the page needed moving instead of just keep undoing someones work.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulspot (talkcontribs) 13:12, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, you should request, and wait, for the article to be moved before changing the article detail, as the article title should be what is in the bold text at the start of the article. I could move the article, but not having appropriate references to support it, I will leave you to request a move. Keith D (talk) 16:18, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Atriplex semibaccata

Hi Kevin D!! I am a university student working on improving the article for Atriplex semibaccata for an assignment due in a couple days. I would really appreciate if you can have a look over the article and recommend suggestions. I am aiming to write an additional 1000 words to improve the article class by the due date (28th May). I greatly appreciate your time and effort. Thank you!! Hippocrates1354 (talk) 06:40, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Hippocrates1354:, I cannot help with the content of the article but can give you some pointers on the formatting and things that need looking at.
  1. Problem with the URL on reference 13.
  2. For the authors of the references the initials need to be standardised with full stops and space between initials.
  3. The measurements in the lead and Description section could do with formatting and giving a conversion into non-metric units. Suggest using {{convert}} template for this.
  4. Maybe a wikilink to Cardwell in the lead.
  5. Maybe add a couple more images to the article to illustrate parts.
Keith D (talk) 09:20, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@Keith D:, Thats fantastic! Thank you for the tips. I will get onto it before the due date.Thank you for your response! Hippocrates1354 (talk)11:14, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for restoring time sanity :)) I have been slowly working on the article, do you think it might be ready for a reassessment and if you have any free time and interest do you have any recommendations. .... (lol Hinchcliffe the joint founder is a genuine Yorkshire man). ~ BOD ~ TALK 22:33, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

@Bodney: Hello, I think that it is easily a C-class article now.
A few pointers, mainly formatting. I would look at adding some accessdates e.g. refs 6 & 7. CBS This Morning probably should be in italics. I would put a comma in the number 1000, for consistency, though 4-digit numbers do not need it. Song titles usually go in double quotes. Keith D (talk) 00:20, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
Many thanks...will apply recommendations tomorrow. ~ BOD ~ TALK 00:23, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Please help me

Can you tell, how am I contributing to Wikipedia and if possible participate on Talk:Hindi literature because my article has been proposed to be merged on this article.I think I am contributing well to Wikipedia, what would you like to say about me? Best Regards.✨️Serious Black@Contribute 04:44, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, do not be disheartened by the merge proposal, they happen all the time when articles on overlapping subjects are found. A merge is better than an out right deletion. Your work appears to be OK but needs supporting by more references to show where the information came from and to back-it up. If you are thinking of starting a new article it is good to have a look around first to see if what you are proposing fits in to another article and add the detail there. Keith D (talk) 10:26, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Can you review my page please

Hello friend. I was recently given new page reviewer rights and autopatrolled rights. But I created an article over a month ago that slipped through the net and has not been reviewed so it's not showing on Google search. Can you just approve the page for me please? It's here: Samuel Flippen. If you could just approve it for me that would be great. Thanks. Inexpiable (talk) 14:11, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I have had a look at the article and as far as I can see it is already approved. It could be a problem at the Google end not spotting the article or them taking time to put it live on their site. It may be that someone on Village Pump may know what is going on, so I suggest you ask there. Keith D (talk) 17:15, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Yeah someone already approved it earlier today. Thank you anyway for the suggestion. Inexpiable (talk) 19:29, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Censorship of History

Not much longer than a year ago Keith D was responsible for the censorship of the Fearnville Gulag paragraph on the Fearnville page. For to long has Fearnvilles history been dictated by the elites of British conservatism. Getting references right

Hi there, Am very new to Wikipedia editing and stil finding my way about. I see that you've tidied up a few of my references (they are labelled as bare references). I don't want to keep creating more work and wondered if you had a link to a WP best practice article about reference formats? SnowballWT (talk) 18:39, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

@SnowballWT: Hello, probably the best place to look is Wikipedia:Citing sources which indicates what should be given for citing different types of source material. Format varies and is not standardised, but most use the format produced by the various cite templates e.g. {{cite web}}. Keith D (talk) 18:51, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
