Jerusalem

Regarding Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Jerusalem and this edit. Could you self-revert please ? As you can see the RfC outcome includes the statement "There was a consensus that it is not compliant with NPOV policy to state in the article “Jerusalem is the capital of Israel”". It follows from this that it is not appropriate for articles to say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel or Palestine as a statement of fact in the voice of the encyclopedia in any article because it is not compliant with NPOV policy. To argue that the NPOV non-compliance problem would be limited to one article is unreasonable and looks like gaming. The RfC ended 10+ years of pointless bickering and edit warring about this issue. If you want to re-ignite it go ahead but you should be aware that this is one of the most sensitive issues in Wikipedia in a topic area covered by discretionary sanctions and mistakes could easily cost you your editing privileges. I have reverted myself. Inkbug (talk) 12:47, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Alert ???

At the top of my page there is a box where numbers pop up and if i click it it has messages. ?#1) What did it mean when it said that you had patrolled the user page of someone named Galantz (who has been active on pages where I am active)  ?#2) What does "patrolled" mean - I have previously gotten such messages only after starting new pages, so I thought it was some sort of review of new pages  ?#3) How do you send someone a thank you note in such a box. I get "thank yous" but I don't see how to send such a note. Thank you and sorry to bother you, but this place can be puzzling.ShulMaven (talk) 14:18, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

  1. You created the page User:Galastel. When I saw that user page, there was a link "mark page as patrolled" that I clicked, and that is probably the cause of that message.
  2. A "patrolled" page is a page that was reviewed. Since you created the page, you got a notice.
  3. If you go to history, there should be a "(thank)" link next to each revision.
