Request to move article Duong Dong Airport incomplete edit

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Duong Dong Airport to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 05:28, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vietnamese article on Klaus Ebner edit

Hello Genghiskhan. Today I found for the first time your note (from June) on my user's talk page about your translation to Vietnamese. I looked up the Vietnamese article and saw that it is still unfinished. If you need some help, explanations on the English article or further information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I guess I will visit Wikipedia more frequently during the next weeks. By the way, many languages use a shorter version of this article; if such is an option for you, you can find the short form on the Simple English Wikipedia. Thank you for your endeavors. --Irina Walter (talk) 16:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article titles edit

Hi! Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia.

I see you made some pages about communes in Vietnam. I wonder whether the name of the page should be "Son Thuy" or "Sơn Thủy". I asked about this at the help desk. I changed the names of some of your pages, but you can still go to Son Thuy and it will redirect you to Sơn Thủy.

Thanks again for your contributions! Coppertwig (talk) 19:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

You were right! I asked at the help desk and they said to see WP:UE#Modified letters. It says to make the name of the article the way things are usually written in English.
An advanced Google search (English pages only):
  • "Sơn Thủy" 1570 pages [1].
  • "Son Thuy" 25,900 pages, [2]
  • "Xuân Thủy" 1,680 [3]
  • "Xuan Thuy" 22,400 [4]
So, "Son Thuy" is more common in English, and it should be the name of the page, just the way you had it. And, in the first sentence of the page, I think it's good to put the special characters, just as you did. You were right! Now I've moved Son Thuy back the way it was. I'll ask an administrator to move Xuan Thuy, Le Thuy back. I'm sorry I moved them the first time! Coppertwig (talk) 17:02, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've asked here for an administrator to move the page back to the way you had named it. Coppertwig (talk) 17:14, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
At Talk:Xuân Thủy, Le Thuy, there is a discussion about whether to move (rename) the page. Coppertwig (talk) 23:03, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Districts and communes of Vietnam edit

Hi I noticed your edits on districts of Vietnam. Thanks. I would be very grateful if you could help us trnaslate the articles from Vietnamese wikipedia see Category:Articles needing translation from Vietnamese Wikipedia and get these articles up to scratch. I will also be looking to start the articles on the communes by province. The more people working on these the quicker we'll be able to develop Vietnam to a better level. You are all free to help build up the communes in Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam/Provincial templates (which we need to build up with communes) like Template:An Giang Province etc as sooner or later I will be starting them all.

P.S great user name Genghis Khan was one of the greatest men in history. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:58, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sure thing! Look forward to working with you. I've nearly done the initial pop referencing for the districts, next stage will be to fill them out and remove the Vietnamese expand tags and have all the communes listed and make district locator maps for all of them. Then we shall start the communes! Regards! Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ahhh. There are however several important things I'd like you to follow as it would make life much easier for me rather than having to clean things up you start.

  1. PLease don't make seperate templates for communes. The communes should be built into the provincial template to connect more articles together. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam/Provincial templates (which should all be built up with communes) like Template:Quang Binh Province for an example of how it should be done.
  2. Please add infoboxes when you start the articles. Thus will save me a great deal of work in trying to chase around afterwards. Coordinates can be found be a google search. If you can't find it then just rmeove the digits from the box. Please see Quán Hàu for what I mean. Normal rural communes obviously you change the name to Commune and village etc rather than "Township".
  3. Please use stub templates. This makes it easier for editor to develop them later. You should add {{QuangBinh-geo-stub}} or whatever it is to apply to these new articles.
  4. Please cite references or your source. Where did you get the information from to start these articles? Again it makes like easier for other editors later when they come to cleanup/develop the articles. Please add a sectionn References and cite your initial source.
  5. If the commune is also a town or village please apply another category aside from communes, add Category:Cities, towns and villages in Quang Binh Province for example. We will need to create a hhigh number of such new categories too.

Basically if you can closely follow my example for An Thủy then you should be doing it better. Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:04, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why did you completely ignore my message? Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:56, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:45, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wuu edit

Hi Genghiskhan .
I think I have already welcomed you before, if you were the same author of wuu:同海机场. I am chinese living in Australia and Thailand. And I hope one day the wuu.wikipedia become the place to go when chinese people need information for every  Tinh / Quan / commercial bank / river / airport / mountain / etc. etc. of VN.

If you wish to learn more about our dialect, you may spend some time in here. As dialect, we encourage people to use slangs in their writings, although standard chinese (mandarin) is 100% acceptable as well. By the way, we prefer to use punctuations like 、 , : 。 ? ! ; : (   )       (not quite like English) they are called wuu:全角汉字标点符号 perhaps worth a bit of attention in the future . . .

Any way, thank you for your contribution and hope you can help us make the VN section much better.

Đại Hòa, Đại Lộc edit

Hi, I came across this article as part of the new pages patrol. I removed the navbox at the bottom because it was empty- as explained in the edit summary. I also made some minor edits to the grammar- structuring it into full sentences etc. It could really do with a little expansion, with more context for people unfamiliar with the subject, making use of inline citation where they're needed. I'm not sure what was going on with the navbox I removed, but I suggest adding it back in (with some content) if it's relevant to the article. Anything I can do to help, just drop me a line! Regards, HJ Mitchell (talk) 10:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'll leave this message on the article talk page, too! HJ Mitchell (talk) 10:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vietnamese-Norwegian translation edit

Hi. Thanks for your attention to my translation work from the Vietnamese Wikipedia to the Norwegian Wikipedia. I've added some additional info on the article you asked me to help you with. I am happy to help, but I'm not too good at the subject. My strongest subject is propably war history. If you have any additional information to the Second Sino-Vietnamese War, then please tell me. List of wars involving Vietnam edit

Here is a norwegian list of all wars which has involved Vietnam: [5]. Do you have any additional information? Has Vietnam participated in any recent conflicts?--Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 22:27, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

It seems like Vietnam participated in both the Thai-Laotian Border War and the 1997 clashes in Cambodia. Although Vietnam itself has been in peace the last years, it's armed forces might still have participated in conflicts in other countries. Do you know if Vietnamese soldiers has been stationed to fight in another country in recent years? With regards, --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 13:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh by the way, where shall we talk? On this page, or on my page on the Norwegian wiki? --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 13:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I do not understand too much Vietnamese, so I am having a real hard time finding tracks of my theories in Vietnamese internet-newspapers. Therefore, I was hoping that if you saw something, then you could refer it to me.

Here is some Norwegian glosaries, if you'd like:

Yes - Ja

No - Nei

Evening - Kveld

Morning - Morgen

Day - Dag

Dinner - Middag

Norway - Norge

Thank you - Takk

Translate - Oversette

Help - Hjelp

Country - Land

Soldier - Soldat

War - Krig

Good luck, and please, tell me if you need help, or have any questions. I am more than willing to help. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 15:41, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Golden Triangle (Southeast Asia) edit

Hi. It seems OK, but in all honesty I've never heard this term before. I know Burma has an extreme problem with opium and that the Burmese military are actually profiting off it and running processing plants themsevles in some parts of eastern Burma so that is true. Thailand to my knowledge has nowhere near the problem that Burma has, if they do it is likely produced in the northwest of the country in the area it is grown in eastern Burma.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:12, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Vietnamese troops at Preah Vihear? edit

I have heard rumors that Vietnamese forces has been stationed at Preah Vihear. Unconfirmed online reports also claims that an entire Vietnamese tank division has crossed Cambodia and are moving towards Preah Vihear in order to defend it's ally. Have you heard anything of this? --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 00:10, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article I posted was based on rumors, and was unsourced. However, I do indeed find it interesting, as secrecy is not something new in Indochina. I'll keep an eye on the situation from now, as this is starting to get interesting. If you have any additional information, than please make a noise. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
