Help?

Hi there, you recently reviewed an article I was working on for an actor Mark Griffin and it was declined. I appreciate what you said about it and I wondered if you or someone else might be able to help me get it right for resubmitting it next time. Any help would be great. WelshWonderWoman (talk) 00:24, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

@WelshWonderWoman: Hi there, since your draft was declined due to not proving the notability of the actor, the first thing you should do is to find independent, published sources that talk about the actor in detail - news sources, reputable magazines critiquing his work, some movie reviewers talking about his acting, etc. After you've found sources you can get back to me here and I'll help you with citing them. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 11:02, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Editor of the Week

  Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week for embodying the true characteristics of an "editor of the week". Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

L235 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I nominate Darylgolden as Editor of the Week for their great work in articles for creation and other maintenance or cleanup-related behind-the-scenes dredge duty. Darylgolden is a very consistent AfC reviewer, and I haven't really found a review I strongly disagree with yet. Darylgolden also goes deep on their reviews - not just snatching the easy fast declines for a higher edit count. Darylgolden takes the time to check sources and has a good accept-to-decline ratio. Darylgolden also does heaps of other miscellaneous gnome-y work, such as maintain persondata templates- something most editors don't dare to touch with a ten-foot pole. Darylgolden is really an all-around great editor.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

  • I'm always humbled by editors like yourself, who don't jump into the limelight, but instead, jump into the trenches and work some of the most backlogged areas of the encyclopedia. What we sometimes call "gnomes", the quiet editors who simply fix things and incrementally improve the encyclopedia one edit at a time, are the most important types of editors we have. It doesn't require many hours a day, or flashy style, just dedication and persistence. Your efforts make a difference. For taking the time to join Wikipedia, and for doing some of the most underappreciated work here, we truly owe you a debt of gratitude. Thank you. Dennis - 20:57, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

I got a message saying I was patrolled by you. Not sure what that means or why you did it so can you fill me in on that? Thanks. - Jabrona (talk) 07:03, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for help in IRC

Hey Darylgolden, Thanks for helping me out in Helpdesk. I've edited my drafted article. If you find time than can you please check it and help me to learn how to improve wiki article more? Thanks a lot, again. --Pruthv (talk) 11:17, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

@Pruthv: Well, the article does seem to have a lot more secondary sources, but notability is still a bit shaky. Most of the sources talk about the radio station as a whole, or another event that she just happened to participate in. If I were to review it, I would have a hard choice choosing between decline and accept, but if other reviewers are more strict, they might go for decline. I think one more good source will make me lean towards accepting it, though. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 01:37, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Spitalfields Mathematical Society

Hello, I've just attended a training session for new Wikipedia editors during which we had to create a new Wikipedia article. I was encouraged to publish mine as it had two notable references, and was going to go back to it later once I'd checked additional references which are only available to me as hard copy. The article was marked for speedy deletion and disappeared before I could edit it. If you are the deleting administrator, please could I have the text of the article so that I can work on it in my sandbox and try publishing it again? Messier40 (talk) 14:58, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello,

I'm messaging you about this article as I see that you previously declined it - I was intended to review it myself but got carried away and ended up re-writing it! I was wondering if you could pop back over to it and have another look. I have updated it with good references and tried to make the article less promotional.

Thanks, ツStacey (talk) 14:53, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

@Staceydolxx: Hi, I can't really say for certain whether this draft is good to go or not, because I don't have access to Newsbank, but assuming the articles on Newsbank are good, then I think the article is acceptable. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:27, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello,

I have created page which goes into speedy deletion. And the problem mention is: (A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject) I would like to tell you that this real estate company is 14 years old and have covered most of news portals and companies. you can find them on international expos as well.

Thank you, Daryl! Thought I'd start small as far as creating my first article. It felt oddly self-serving, but since I'm not included on the list of people, that alleviated some of my feelings about that. Ha. Given that the family has kept its identity intact for over 2,000 years, I thought it should probably deserve an article. Though, as Terry Bellefleur on 'True Blood' said, "All families are old, some just keep better records". :) Again, thank you for the compliment! Quinto Simmaco (talk) 12:18, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Question

Hello. I am not sure where exactly I should post my message. It relates to my article 'Alfred Edwin Jones' which you reviewed. You raised the issue of copyright. I have now contacted the Dictionary of Irish Architects who have given me permission to use their material. I have sent an email to permissions_en@wikimedia.org giving details (the text of the permission, date, email address and name of person giving the permission). Since I had already referenced the material used from the Dictionary, and since the Dictionary is a published work, I assumed that was sufficient. But evidently it was not. What must I do next? Will I receive permission now from Wikipedia allowing me to remove the Copyright Violation note from the text of the Article and to restore it. I will look through it before putting it back to see that everything is properly referenced. Thanks. Hope your exams go well. I am a Septenarian a veteran of many exams!

Hi Eamon, aside from having the dictionary email Wikipedia, it would be good to have the dictionary state on their webpage that they release the content under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License (allowing anyone for any purpose to use it, provided credit is provided and they use a similar license). That way, administrators can see the license more easily. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 09:02, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

I am increasingly confused by Wikipedia. My article titled Alfred Edwin Jones has been accused of violating copyright. I received permission from the author to use the material excluded by Darygold (sic)). I thought I followed instructions by sending an email containing the permission to the address given and also notified Darygold (sic) of the fact I had got permission and sent the email. How every I have heard NOTHING from anyone. I need someone to help me so that I can restore my article

Eamon, I have responded to you here. Since you have already emailed Wikipedia, you should wait until your request is responded to and the copyright template will be removed.~Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 06:03, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

iStreamPlanet

Hi Darylgolden, In review of submitted article for iStreamPlanet you write that "Although the article appears to have sources from major news companies, the articles are actually just press releases from Marketwire." That is not entirely correct. The Marketwire press releases were only cited in support of the company's announcement of Series A funding, not as proof of the subject's notability. The subject's notability is supported by citations from the Wall Street Journal, Geek Wire, Streaming Media and CNN.com. I have removed all Marketwire press releases from the article and resubmitted it for approval. Thank you.

(talk page stalker) The WSJ is cited for one of their competitors; I doubt it says much about iStreamPlanet. CNN.com says nothing at all. The Streaming Media pieces are a "vendor-submitted case study", not third-party coverage, plus a blog post with the Q&A to a webinar co-hosted by iStreamPlanet - even less independent coverage. The GeekWire piece doesn't support the barrage of PR buzzwords it's cited for. Huon (talk) 10:27, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Help with feedback on DRAFT page, and how do I add/upload a photo for this article?

Hi Daryl, Here's the draft article, can you please provide some feedback. I used the code for Notes and references from our former President's page but it doesn't appear in this article the same/correctly - the links were added directly under the Notes & ref section. I only entered "NA" because I got an error for empty categories when I saved the draft. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Dyan_at_SAC/sandbox/Steven_R._DiSalvo,_Ph.D. Also, how do I add an image to this article? 12:35:08, 20 April 2015 review of submission by P Bonnin Cugno

Hi Daryl I was wondering why the references here are not enough to establish his notability. They are national Press< govt bodies and universities is it because I have not referenced them properly? This artist is one of a small group who have changed scottish art into a diverse but strong culture and this has directly lead to so many Turner prize winners but possibly helped to create the modern confidence that has arisen in our country. I have followed the guidelines as far as I can see and have looked at many other British artists on Wikipedia. Many who have less references and have taken a lesser part in British art therefore I am a little puzzled can you help me please? P Bonnin Cugno (talk) 12:35, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi P Bonnin Cugno, there are indeed many online newspapers in the article, but they don't seem to talk about P Bonnin Cugno. However, if the offline newspapers mention the person extensively, tell me here and I'll leave a note that they do. Another issue you have with the article is your tone. Even in your message here, you have used some promotional words about the person, which is alright here, but in the article, you must be completely neutral. You should make it feel as if the person writing the article has no particular interest in that person, no particular interest in their art and no intention to critique their work. So it should feel like an article containing solely of important encyclopedic facts, presented in prose. So the phrases such as "Forbes at his best, fragmented.." have to go, because they're both promotional and your own personal opinion of the person. Thanks! Hi Darylgolden Thank you for your useful suggestions. Rereading my work I can see that I let my passion for art spill into the article. I have changed it to include another two references and can assure you that the press cuttings that I have gathered from the archives are all about Forbes work. Thanks for feedback on my draft

Hi there. I understand the notability requirement. Although I think this company does gain coverage, perhaps more outside the US, and there are notable factors in terms of patents, and the IPO. I'm focused on smaller cap companies that ultimately can drive some technologies forward though the may be outside the coverage in the general business press. In any case, I've noticed that some of the entries in Wikipedia in certain niche technologies are interesting to me and others, but not necessarily notable to the general public. Picking almost at random, here's an entry that's not "notable" but certainly of interest: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ApexKB.

So I'll move on to other topics. Thanks again for you help.

Aware IM

Hello Darylgolden,

First of all, thank you for reviewing my article about Aware IM.

This article is about a software system that has been around for more than 12 years and is used by people in more than 30 countries around the world. Not only that, but they also formed a development community that maintains its own resources to help others learn and use Aware IM.

The review comment says "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability". I can assure you that all the references I included into the article (except for one that is clearly marked as such) are from genuine independent Aware IM developers. They are either from people describing their own experience working with Aware IM, or their actual applications built with Aware IM, or both.

Surely Aware IM deserves no less attention than similar tools such as Filemaker, Alpha Five (database) or AppFlower, each of which has its own Wikipedia page even though their history and widespread are apparently different. Some of them only have a single external reference, and even that does not appear particularly convincing.

I am trying to get a feel of the consistency in Wikipedia’s approach to assessing notability. I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer on how I can improve the article to prove Aware IM notability.

Sincerely yours, Pen93 (talk) 05:38, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Wikipedia content should be based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as articles about the company written by newspapers or reputable magazines. For comparison, Filemaker is the subject of an entire book published with J. Wiley & Sons, Alpha Five (database) has been reviewed by PC Magazine. AppFlower was tagged for probably not meeting our notability guidelines for years; I have proposed it for deletion. The references cited in the Aware IM draft do not meet Wikipedia's standards for reliable sources; not one of them is a third-party publication subject to editorial oversight. If the draft were turned live in its current state, it would go the way of AppFlower. Huon (talk) 10:27, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Tit Coin

Hello, Darylgolden. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Tit Coin".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Tit Coin}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:49, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thank you for thanking me

I'm just a casual editor, usually when I notice mostly non-factual errors (except for pages about subjects dear to me), such as typos, punctuation, spelling, syntax, style and similar errors. Still, recently I've encountered less than enthusiastic responses, though in the two most recent cases my ignorance about Wikipedia procedures was to blame.

I reached Across The Universe accidentally, but I read it because I love the movie. There were one or two very minor mistakes, which I felt obligated to fix, but I must compliment you on the overall quality of this page. I won't insult you by comparing it to so many pages I read which sound like they've been written by nearly illiterate authors; still, it's a pleasure to read a well-written account, and of course to be so graciously thanked for doing something so small. • Darylgolden, writting my first Wiki-article Dipromisto I got a remark from user Satabdirayi that the article may require copy editing for grammar, style, cohesion, tone, or spelling; needs additional citations for verification; and contains content that is written like an advertisement. I worked to improve the article and have changed it to meet better the Wikipedia's demands on January, 17. I kindly asked user Satabdirayi to check it and inform me if it is enough verifiable now and if it doesn't look as an advertisement any more or what I have to change more User_talk:Satabdirayi. But still there is no answer. It is necessary for me to receive an approval of the English version of the artcile before I'll publish the Russian version of it. I'll be grateful for your help or any advice what I have to do in this situation. OleAna (talk) 08:58, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
@OleAna: I think the article is fairly neutral now, and it would be quite safe to remove the advert part of the tag. However I still think the article needs a bit of copy editing - there are a few run-on sentences here and there. I may copy edit a few parts of the article if I have the time (I'm very busy with real life stuff). But do note that it's ok to have these tags on an article, and you shouldn't be too flustered about it. In fact the article is quite well written for a first attempt. By the way, in general the Wikipedias in different languages are all independent from each other, so you wouldn't need an "approval" on the English version to write it on the Russian version. Unless the Russian Wikipedia specifically states you do, which would be quite strange. And there's no "approval" system either, once an article is there, it's there. Those tags at the top have nothing to do with approval. Thanks and happy editing! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 14:28, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
@Darylgolden: thank you for your answer and support. Getting support from English wiki community is necessary for me, because the Russian community is much less friendly. There have been already an article about Dipromisto created by someone few years ago, but it is very short and I got a question about changing the name of the article (due to the differences in Ukrainian and English names of the institute). I started consultaions regarding the article and representatives of Russian wiki community refered to the previous version of the English language article with the remark about an advertisement, saying that such article in Russian Wikipedia will be deleted immidiatly. So now it is important to have the English article at least without remarks that it needs additional citations for verification and contains content that is written like an advertisement to be more assured for publishing it in Russian Wikipedia. Thank you, once more. OleAna (talk) 11:14, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Editor of the Week : nominations needed!

The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.

The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?

Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

UN Stubs

Just a quick point, I did go to WP:AN because I was pointed that way, by an administrator as a place to see advice on the issue. My intent was to make sure I knew what I was talking about so I didn't end up confusing a new editor if I was wrong. That was pretty much it. No menace was intended nor did I request any action be taking against the user. It has been pointed out to me how It could look threatening to a new user to see the WP:AN Notice template, which hadn't dawned on me. I have apologized to the editor. New page reviewer granted

Hello Darylgolden. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. -- samtar talk or stalk 08:22, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello Darylgolden,

Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 814 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.

Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

PLEASE VOTE: Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey:

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

Leaving generic messages doesn't seem like a good way to combat vandalism. Maybe you can try personalizing them. It is nice to know that the person leaving you a message is actually a person and not a robot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.174.85.103 (talk) 05:28, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

These messages have been well-established by the community and helps editors know the amount of vandalism conducted by a user, allowing them to decide if they should be reported or blocked. They are also used by semi-automated tools and bots which can automatically escalate the "warning level" and report the user once they exceed the final warning level. Moreover, insulting the vandals only incites them to vandalise more, because they know they are getting attention. Just as well that they think the user warning them is a robot. Lord Myners

Hi Darylgolden,

I am keen to work with the editing community to provide sourced updates to Paul Myners entry. There are a number of verifiable, factual elements missing which could help move the class of the entry up from start. Are you able to help with that?

Thanks.

New York Life article

I saw that you restored its Criticism and Controversy section. I'm not the one who deleted it, but I'm not sure the "well-researched" justification fits that particular text. See the article's Talk page. I left the main page alone. – 2*6 (talk) 06:33, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

RFK's death date

I'm a political scientist and I noted the death date of RFK was incorrect. He died shortly after midnight on Wednesday, June 5 (not June 6). He died the night of the California primary, which I knew was on a Tuesday (June 4). See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries,_1968. So you should leave my edits as they are. I think it was confusing because of the "shortly after midnight" description. Someone must have thought it was the next day (June 6). But he died late on a Tuesday night (i.e., early Wednesday morning). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.22.205.11 (talk) 06:04, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

@67.22.205.11: Fair enough. I was initially suspicious of your edits because changing the date of death of a person is quite a common subtle form of vandalism. It would be better if you cite a reliable source to support the fact. I would also discuss the matter with SNUGGUMS, who disagrees with your edit as they state "While the assassination took place on June 5th, he actually died on the 6th." Thank you. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 07:01, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Hello. Sources such as United Press International indicate he was shot on June 5th, but died the next day. IP, I'm not sure if there's a specific citation you have for a June 5th death, but the Wikipedia article you linked currently states "After giving his victory speech at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, Kennedy was shot in the kitchen service pantry in the early morning of June 5. A Palestinian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan was arrested. Kennedy died twenty-six hours later." Snuggums (talk / edits) 18:42, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

RFK death date cont.

My mistake. Sorry! Snuggums is correct. I was going by the date of the California primary. I did not realize that Kennedy lived 24+ hours after being shot. Collaboration: that's the strength of Wikipedia, right?

Indeed. I do hope you create an account and stay around - editors with special expertise in areas of knowledge is very much needed on Wikipedia. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 04:34, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello Darylgolden,

A HUGE backlog

We now have 814 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 814 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello Darylgolden,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 814 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Bronwyn Manchez

Hi Darylgolden, Apparently I overlooked the AfD tag on the page Bronwyn Manchez. As i was absolutely convinced it was a hoax, I requested Speedy Deletion today. Not sure it interfered in the process when DESiegel deleted the page, but it if it did, please accept my apologies. Greetings, darthbunk pakt dunft 20:08, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

I was aware that the page was up for AfD when i saw the speedy delete tag, Darthbunk_Pakt_Dunft. It is perfectly proper to tag a page for speed deletion while it is being considered at a deletion discussion. An admin will tend to decline anything borerline in such a case, and leave it for the discussion to consider In this case several othe neditors had called for a speedy delete, and none for keep, so the speed could also be thought of as a SNOW delete close, althoigh it was a valid speedy delete in my judgement. This sort of sequence is not uncommon, and does not violate procedure (spoken as the drafter of Process is Important). DES (talk) 20:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Technology update:

  • Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements

Response to your last messgage/Hello!

Dear Darylgolden,

I've recently received your message informing me of an non-cited piece of information that I had edited on the article, Battle of Seattle (1856). I'll admit to adding that piece of information on the page without any source. However, there is a Wikipedia article detailing the Yakima War which blatantly says on the Battle of Seattle section; "Two Americans were killed in the fighting and 28 Natives lost their lives." I've linked the page for you to see; it is the very last sentence of that exact section. Thank you for taking the time to read this response.

Warm regards, ISpeakWashingtonState Wikipedia User — Preceding unsigned comment added by ISpeakWashingtonState (talkcontribs) 06:57, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

@ISpeakWashingtonState: Then please add the content again while citing the same source that the Yakima War article used for that sentence. On an unrelated note, please also sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each post - this will automatically be converted into your username with a link to it. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 07:13, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Checking about notability

Thanks for your advice about checking notability on my talk page earlier. I'd just like to check that the two secondary sources I've added to the J. P. E. Harper-Scott page are the kind of thing I need to include for new pages. They're in the second paragraph, and in the new section on sources. They're from books. Thanks! Constituent12 (talk) 12:57, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

@Constituent12: Yep, those are good sources. I don't know if it's sufficient to completely ascertain notability, but you're on the right track. If you can find more sources, you can add them, otherwise you can just leave it. In future though please try to keep the discussion in one place (respond on your talk page and ping me). Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:02, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
@Darylgolden:Thanks again. There's lots to learn but it's clearly a very supportive community! I hope I've got the ping right now, and will keep to single pages in future (I wrote on your chat page because I didn't know about pinging!). I'll put in one or two more sources from Google Books maybe, and then leave it to the review process, which I guess will happen sooner or later?Constituent12 (talk) 13:07, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
Yep. Good luck! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:10, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Quick response

Firstly, I would like to address the fact that I'm new to Wikipedia and do not know of how to sign my name on a message. Secondly, I've tried citing the source however, it continues to show up as an error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ISpeakWashingtonState (talkcontribs) 07:21, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

@ISpeakWashingtonState: What error showed up? Also, please do not start a new section for a follow up response. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 07:24, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

The error that shows up says this: "Cite error: The named reference 'batsea' was invoked but never defined." I would also appreciate that you make it less complicated for me and instead of saying "Also, please do not start a new section for a follow up response.", just inform me that I can use the same section as used previously. (ISpeakWashingtonState (talk) 05:16, 23 August 2017 (UTC))

@ISpeakWashingtonState: I have added your content back onto the page with a reference. It appears you tried to copy the shortened form of the reference in Yakima War that is used next to the phrase rather than the full reference information (defined earlier in the article). Also, I wasn't deliberately trying to make things more complicated for you, I just didn't realise there was a simpler way of putting it. Thanks for your contributions to the article! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 11:56, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

LAMATA

Hello Darylgolden,

I am an employee of LAMATA, we are currently trying to increase our internet footprint, our references are primarily generated and we use our in house records, I would appreciate if you could slow down on your backlash, as this means a lot for our organization. regards (Muizzogbara (talk) 12:16, 25 August 2017 (UTC))

@Muizzogbara: The edits you have made to Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority are inappropriate as they are copied directly from your website, which from what I can tell, is copyrighted. Due to legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot host copyrighted text. Even if you were to try to donate the text into the public domain, the Wikipedia article still should not be written in that way, as the tone of the prose is far too promotional. Please note that Wikipedia is not a business directory, linked-in nor place to promote your company. Wikipedia is not the place to "increase your internet footprint", and if your company continues to attempt to use it for promotion, I (and other editors) will not hesitate to revert your edits. Please seek other methods of promotion instead. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 12:29, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
darylgoden I have made the effort to carefully reference text that have been cited on the page, and for your information these texts are not lifted from the website, a compendium was compiled and perhaps it might contain some words from the website, I have made an attempt to reference it. On that note I would like to inform you that our organization is not a profit making organization, We are a government agency. you saying our "prose" is promotional is absurd. Wikipedia is a source of information to educate, and our state see it fit to use the tool to educate our citizens with the right information, it has taken quite a number of people to gather these data, I would appreciate if you can make a meaningful contribution to fine tune our page for the better and not condescend our agenda.
@Muizzogbara:Whether or not your organisation is for-profit or not is irrelevant. This report shows large chunks of text directly copied from your website. Even if the text was not copyrighted, it would need to be less promotional (phrases such as "strong, renowned and internationally acclaimed" and "awesome" need to be removed) and properly referenced not just from your website, but from secondary sources as well. Since you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid editing the article directly and make edit requests on the talk page. With all due respect, Wikipedia does not care about your organisation's agenda - in fact, editing with goal of pushing an agenda runs directly contrary to our goals of writing a neutral encyclopedia. Please also note that the article is does not belong to your organisation but rather the Wikipedia community, thus you need to make sure your edits are in accordance to Wikipedia's guidelines, not the other way around. Question

You just posted the following message to me: Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 12:51, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

I assume this is in reference to the link I just posted to a trip report we wrote about our experience walking the GTA. Since the Wiki page is about the GTA and our report is primarily for providing information for people who may want to walk this route at some point, it is not clear to me what it is that you find inappropriate. We are offering nothing for sale or promoting anything that may benefit us personally. The information we provide in the site is directly relevant to the Wiki entry, but perhaps you did not have an opportunity read our entire post to assess this relevance. There are similar links on other Wikipedia entries for various trails: see John Muir Trail for example. I would appreciate a more complete explanation of what you are objecting to. • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

David Nirenburg's wikipedia article

Hi Daryl,

You recently deleted an adjustment I had made to David Nirenberg's page calling him a union buster. If we take 'union buster' by it's standard definition, that is to say: someone that actively refuses to accept the majority vote for unionization and sends anti-union union propaganda out in order to suppress unionization attempts then there is not doubt that Union Buster is a completely accurate and neutral description of David Nirenburg. Your attempt to make his wikipedia page contain only positive information about his academic career whilst ignoring the other aspects of his career (being paid by UChicago to bust unions) isn't 'neutral' at all but rather allowing the employer to have a monopoly on wikipedia and to create a one-sided and inaccurate picture of who David Nirenberg is and what his job-description involves. With this in mind, please place my accurate entry back on the wikipedia page.

Best,

J — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8.37.27.119 (talk) 15:42, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, @8.37.27.119:, let me preface by stating that I have no special knowledge of the person, and only came about your edit while patrolling recent changes. I certainly have no interest in the actual controversy itself. That being said, your edit which removed the entire text of the article, replacing it with a two sentence criticism of the person is grossly inappropriate, violating our policies on biographies of living people and could be construed as an attack. If you have valid criticism about the person, then add it on to the article, but only if backed by reliable sources, and if there is any part of the current article poorly sourced, you can remove it. Since you seem to have been personally affected by the person in real life, please read our policies on conflict of interest and neutrality before attempting to make your changes. New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.
  • The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

James Madison-Richmond football rivalry

The James Madison-Richmond football rivalry article has no independent citations and does not establish that a rivalry exists, instead it simply reports on games played. WP:NRIVALRY. UW Dawgs (talk) 04:37, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

@UW Dawgs: Sorry, that's what I get for reviewing by only comparing with similar articles instead of actually checking for notability. Feel free to revert my review or AfD. Thanks, Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:04, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!

The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

dear sir i am trying to create an article about company i work with and i din't add any details for advertising and allways deleted i found many articles about companies in Wikipedia and didn't deleted just when i create my article its deleted

regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by AzadJameel (talkcontribs) 06:47, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

@AzadJameel: What makes you think that if you keep asking the same question over and over and ignoring all answers, you will get a different reply? Darylgolden already gave you a very clear answer. Why do you think that if you keep recreating the same article under different names they will be accepted? Please accept the fact that your company is not notable, stop spamming and vandalising Wikipedia, stop cheating and read the conflict of interest guideline. You should avoid creating or editing articles about your company. Thanks.—J. M. (talk) 15:40, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

dear iam not trying to cheat or do any thing illegal i just want to add our company and you think our company is not qualified to be in Wikipedia and i checked there are a lot of companies in Wikipedia same our company. just i need to know where is my mistake to correct it to keep our company in Wikipedia — Preceding unsigned comment added by AzadJameel (talkcontribs) 08:11, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

There is no mistake, your company doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. Nothing you do on this website will change that. Please reread your old messages for more clarification and do not make any further attempts to write an article about your company here. If you persist, you may be indefinitely blocked from editing. NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Deletion tags

  • Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.

Backlog drive:

  • A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Editathons

  • There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.

Paid editing - new policy

  • Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

  • The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Not English

  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.

News

  • Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
  • The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel: there are currently 2900 unreviewed articles, and 4000 unreviewed redirects.

  • Reviewers who review at least 50 articles or redirects will receive a Special Edition NPP Barnstar:  . Those who review 100, 250, 500, or 1000 pages will also receive tiered awards:  ,  ,  ,  .

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Darylgolden, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Hi. As you do not appear to have reviewed new pages for over 6 months, your account has been removed from the New Page Reviewer user group. If you wish to review new pages, don't hesitate to apply for the right again at WP:PERM. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:46, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

@Kudpung: Hi, I'm not sure where you got the fact that I haven't reviewed new pages for over 6 months from. While I'm not too active, this log shows that I have indeed reviewed multiple pages in the past 6 months. If I'm missing something, please let me know. Either way, I would like to keep the right. Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 13:15, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
You are quite correct. You have made exactly 50 reviews. This error comes from taking the data provided by another method, clearly demonstrating that we still have some way to go in monitoring the system accurately. There is of course the possibility that I simply failed to see your name on the lists. I apologise for any inconvenience and I have re-added your account to the New Page Reviewer group. I look forward to you helping out with a new, fast growing backlog. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:34, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Lisa Goldman (American author)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Lisa Goldman (American author), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Take part in a survey

Hi Darylgolden

We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.

Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.

As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

Click here to access the survey: https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0xE0vVW1MclX1d3

Please participate to the talk pages consultation

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

Copyvio requests on SG COVID article

Hi there, I would like to ask, how does Copyvio work? Cause to be honest, I don't see any plagiarism in the edits. Let me know. Thanks. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 03:10, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

@TheGreatSG'rean: The copyvio was introduced on this revision (the extended discussion about the SCCI leak), and was copied from [1]. I have already removed the copyvio from the current revision of the text. You can view the copyvio report here. The revisions that have this text will be revdeled under RD1. The link to the diff and copyvio report will most likely no longer work after this is done. Unfortunately, that means all contributions made within that time will no longer appear in the respective users' contributions. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 03:18, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
Let me clarify: As long as more than 50% of text is copied, that means a possible violation? Does that mean that sources shouldn't be cited? Thanks. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 03:33, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
@TheGreatSG'rean: No for both. Don't look at the confidence percentage; it is rather meaningless. If you look at the copyvio report, you'll see that chunks of text were copied directly from the Mothership article. "In the leaked audio... supermarkets island-wide." and "in support of Chan's candidness... throughout the rest of the world" were two large chunks directly copied without modification. This would fall under "No in-text attribution, no quotation marks, no change in text, inline citation only" on Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Avoiding_plagiarism. Citing sources is of course required on Wikipedia and using information from sources is the only way articles get information. However, copying the wording of sources and presenting it in Wikipedia's voice is not allowed. The rest of the article is fine because it is presented in the editors' own words. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 03:54, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the guidance. I understand now. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 03:59, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Expansion of George D. Lundberg page

I have expanded the George Lundberg page to reflect his complete history, especially as the current article is technically incorrect. I have never met Dr. Lundberg, although I have clarified several uncontroversial items via email with him; neither am I being reimbursed by Dr. Lundberg. There has been much discussion among professionals as to the need for an accurate and comprehensive article about Dr. Lundberg. Additionally, this article's footnotes and references primarily comprise research and outside verifiable sources. I have spent many hours on this project and do not appreciate you simply calling for taking it down without any discussions or without asking me any questions. I have edited and written research papers, chapters, and books for decades and was, for a decade, the managing editor of Environmental Practice journal, and this current Wikipedia project is, in my opinion, being handled quite unprofessionally. I understand the need to police, but you are doing a disservice to your readers by taking careful research and reverting to an unprofessional and untrue stub. Please tell me what it is you need to do to resolve this issue and return the article to the one I have written. If you would like me to delete the 1 or 2 quotes from Dr. Lundberg, I would be happy to do so. Debora Holmes (talk) 04:26, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

@Debora Holmes: The article that you have written is written in a promotional tone and is too reliant on primary sources. While you are not being reimbursed by the subject, the fact that you have interviewed him shows that you have some personal or professional connection to him. Please follow the advice here and avoid editing the article directly but make edit requests to the article talk page instead. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 04:59, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

Our comments have overlapped. Please see the edit to my original post to you that I wrote a few minutes ago. I should also state that I previously reached out to Wiki editors to have them review the entire article to make sure it was okay, but I never heard back from anyone. I can certainly revise the tone and avoid reliance on primary sources. However, I would like some assurance that after reviewing and rewriting the article, I can present it to someone in its entirety so that the article can be properly reviewed again and okayed (or not, in which case I can revise again). What is the best way to do this? Debora Holmes (talk) 05:07, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

I don't see any edit to your original post. As for reviewing of your edits, you can do that via an edit request. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 05:34, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Darylgolden, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)
