Je sait seulement defaire un changement a la fois, tandi que toi tu a fait ca: (Reverted edits by 80.189.175.230 (talk) to last version by ClueBot)

Merci d'avance, et excuse mes fautes.

P.S. I was writing to you in French because I saw a sign on your page saying you don't speak English, but then just now I glanced in your archives and saw something you wrote in perfect English, so I'm confused. If you don't understand what I wrote above in French, let me know, I'll rewrite it. (Linda Smart (talk) 03:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

P.P.S.: Okay, I figured out my mistake. I went back on your page to reread the sign that says you don't speak English (after reading many more posts in your Archives written by you in perfect English), and I saw that I had misread the sign. I thought it said: This user is a negative speaker of American English. Ha! I thought that was a funny mistake. Anyway, my question, above, still stands.

(Linda Smart (talk) 03:47, 20 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

Hi, yes I speak English, but let me see if I can answer your question that you asked in French, but I'm not going to answer it in French. What I think you are asking is how I revert unwanted edits. Let me explain a bit, I am an administrator, and as such I have an extra button on my screen that allows me to rollback any user's edits to the last user. But anyone can do this, it just takes more time. In order to undo multiple edits without the rollback button: click the history tab, then click the time and date of the version of the page history that is desired, then click edit, then enter an edit summary then click save. See Help:Reverting for another explanation. Basically, administrators have a button that makes reverting faster and automatically supplies an edit summary. Hope that helps. Thanks! Yes, that helps a lot. (Linda Smart (talk) 23:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

Hey! edit

I have been very busy. Moved, got married, grad school. Really busy actually. So my editing is sort of drive by. How have you been? I'd love to take some Harvard photos. The weather's been crappy around here -- dirty snow on the ground, big wet puddles. So I think I should wait until it clears up a little. The Holyoke Center I know very well (used to go to the dentist there) Peabody Terrace looks familiar, though I can't quite tell where the google images of it are taken from. It seems like most of them were taken from across the river, perhaps that's the only way to get a good image. I'm rarely over by the Divinity School so I don't recognize that building, but it shouldn't be that hard to find. So I'll give it a shot when I'm next around Harvard.

(wow I didn't even sign the above, shows how rusty I am. No worries, just moved to a nicer place in somerville. Same distance from Harvard.) Dina (talk) 00:54, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi DVD,

Just wanted to thank you for removing the vandalism on my User Page. Cheers. --RobNS 22:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Luxembourg again edit

This time under a new IP. Must be a sock puppet. Can you block it or lock the page. It's getting out of control. Thanks. --RobNS 22:36, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sure it will be alright. I have to go now and will be offline for a while but will take a look again later today. Report them to WP:AIV if they start vandalising again, and if they change proxies again try WP:RFPP. But like I said, I will look again in a couple hours, protect the page, and do some blocking if need be. Regards, dv dv dv d 22:53, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

General Motors Building edit

DVD R W, thank you for your contributions to the General Motors Building article, and for nominating it for DYK. You did a very good job! And I have one question: are the number of bytes for the article equal to the number of characters? Thank you again. Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 20:08, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

My RfB edit

I wanted to personally thank you, DVDRW, for your support in my recent RfB. By the way, are you +RW or -RW (or is that only for R's?) I am thankful and appreciative that you feel that I am worthy of the trust the community requires of its bureaucrats, and I hope to continue to behave in a way that maintains your trust in me and my actions. I have heard the community's voice that they require more of a presence at RfA's of prospective bureaucrats, and I will do my best over the near future to demonstrate such a presence and allow the community to see my philosophy and practices in action. I hope I can continue to count on your support when I decide to once again undergo an RfB. If you have any suggestions, comments, or constructive criticisms, please let me know via talkpage or e-mail. Thank you again. -- Avi (talk) 16:30, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure, no problem I think you would make a fine b-crat. I'm not sure anymore which type of disc I am, that name was chosen because it is coincidentally the disemvoweled form of part of my irl name, and it suits the purpose here of "(R)eading" and "(W)riting." dvdrw 20:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

RFA thanks edit

Thanks for your support in my RFA, that didn't quite make it and ended at 120/47/13. There was a ton of great advice there, that I'm going to go on. Maybe someday. If not, there are articles to write! Thanks for your support. Lawrence § t/e 17:46, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: A request edit

(copied over from my talk page:) Hi, I'd like to help with that, because it's an area of interest on many levels: Latin American, film, and in fact directly related to a research interest of mine. On the other hand, I'm trying to stick to my resolution to edit on weekends only (today being an exception because El Señor Presidente was on the main page). So if you can wait until Friday, and are happy with my being a bit off and on, then dandy. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 04:41, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Russian? edit

BTW, do you speak or read Russian? You do seem a dab hand with the Cyrillic. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 02:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment, yes, I speak and read a little- maybe a lot for an American citizen who has never been to Russia. I've been studying, and learning mostly online but I've taken 4 or 5 classes in the last few years, maybe 3 years. I used to have a babel box that said I was level 2 on my userpage, but now just a redirect. dvdrw 03:02, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rfb participation thanks edit

Hello, Platter of plastic that can be re-written and re-read  .

I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 17:47, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

RfA thanks! edit

  RfA: Many thanks
Many thanks for your participation in my recent request for adminship. I am impressed by the amount of thought that goes into people's contribution to the RfA process, and humbled that so many have chosen to trust me with this new responsibility. I step into this new role cautiously, but will do my very best to live up to your kind words and expectations, and to further the project of the encyclopedia. Again, thank you. --jbmurray (talkcontribs) 05:46, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nikolai Ladovsky edit

Fresh rewrite needs copyedit. NVO (talk) 19:02, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nice to hear from you. I copyedited it as requested, I think your writing is very good, and very informative. My copyediting is only so-so hence the article may need someone better later, but it should be fine for now. Since it was expanded 5x the article qualifies for DYK. Maybe you should enter it. They've been requiring lately a quote that proves the hook written by one of the references and placed in the footnotes. I'm sure you could think of a better hook but, how does something like this sound:
...that Nikolai Ladovsky applied psychological concepts to architecture, and was a leader of "rationalism" in architecture?
(I can't seem to get this so that I'm satisfied with it. You really should write the hook with it fresh in your mind.)
...that Nikolai Ladovsky designed and implemented an array of equipment for measuring "psychotechnical" aptitude?
These are described in Cooke, and would need to be added to the article if this were the hook, thats why you should write one :)
Don't forget his "psychotechnical laboratories." There is some interesting information about them in Catherine Cooke, Russian Avant-Garde: Theories of Art, Architecture, and the City, Academy Editions, 1995, if you have access - probably elsewhere as well, I imagine there is some description of them in Khan-Magomedov's books which, unfortunately, I don't have. These forays of Ladovsky, in applying scientific and psychological methods to architecture are well worth mentioning, they should be mentioned in the VKHUTEMAS article, I guess its not too late for that. By the way, could you link a biography of Selim Khan-Magomedov in a reply on user talk, or write an article about him? Regards, dvdrw 01:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
