Knock You Down2 edit

The review has been finished. It was an extremely stressful review I have to admit, coupled with the fact that you were taking so much time to address concerns. It is close to GA now after the prose changes that you have to do as part of the review, but please be prompt. I am seriously too busy to come back and ping you and remind you to look over at your own nominations. I hope you understand Candy. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:56, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Start it up DYK and page moves edit

I reviewed Start It Up at T:TDYK. Please check there and comment.

Also, I notice u moved an article about a song to make way for ur article about the TV episode, seemingly first by a regular move and then, after another editor moved it back, by a cut-and-paste move. This is wrong; u should not ever do a cut-and-paste move as it messes up article history and hence attribtuion of who wrote what. Currently it looks like you claim credit for the song article, becuase it is your edits in its page history. If there is any reason to think there is contention about what is a proper article name, or if there is any technical difficulty, u must use the helpful wp:RM requested move service instead. Here the fact another editor moved it back shows u there is disagreement. I opened discussion at the article's Talk page, u may comment there. I'll watch here too for a while. Thanks. --Doncram (talk) 15:41, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

RE: I've Tried edit

Hey Candy... I think you've done a wonderful job. Take into account what the article was like before... compared to now. Well done. "Hello Good Morning" is already GA. I've tried to make "Angels" GA-worthy but in the end I've decided to nominate it for deletion under the context that it didn't receive enough independent coverage to go beyond a stub. If that's the case.... then "Coming Home (Diddy-Dirty Money song)" is well on its way as is "Ass on the Floor". and of course the album page needs a small tidy up but there's a potential GA topic looming I reckon. Perhaps we should turn out attention to "Gimme Dat" and "Ride"? -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 03:31, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yup that sounds like a good idea to focus on "Ride" first. I'll give it a once-over tomorrow and then we can discuss what we think needs sorting out before dividing any of the work up that needs doing on it. As for "LYNM" I'm quite happy with it. I'll take a look at it tomorrow too to see if there's anything missing. The only thing I can think of is Manuela Arbeláez appearance in the video will need a source. Other than that I won't know till I've had a proper look. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 03:56, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
No wonder gaga pushed album back to may. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 20:39, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's cool. No i think I missed your last post. It might be cause the archiver BOTs been active, admins have been reverting vandalism and I've got a troll following me so it could have been lost somewhere in the reverts. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 22:51, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Probably not a good idea until the outcome of "Freakum Dress" is determined. But tbh I'd view it as a different situation since it attracted media attention etc... I'm undecided about the whole not-charting not notable thing. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:00, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re: Start It Up edit

Looks good. :) I took the courtesy of adding Category:Television pilots. About the show, do you like it?, To me, It's OK, But Good Luck Charlie is best show on Disney right now, IMO. QuasyBoy 15:55, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's cool, But I don't expect Shake It Up to have third season. The writers will probably run out of ideas by then. How many scripts can you write about two girls being in a dance show. All the other Disney Channel shows are pretty lackluster, IMO. Sonny with a Chance had a hilarious first season, I don't know what happened after that. Sonny is a comedic actress, now she wants to be a singer, LOL. Wizards is only a little watchable now, but the fact that the writers are putting so much emphasis on Alex and Mason's relationship annoys me. Never really cared for The Suite Life on Deck, Now if London had her own spin-off I would watch that. :) Good Luck Charlie is the only show I LOVE right now, a show about regular people, not people who want to famous, LOL. I grew up watching shows like Family Matters and Full House and Good Luck Charlie is a great throwback to those shows. QuasyBoy 21:00, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, Knowing Disney they will probably going to push music on Good Luck Charlie, LOL, But we'll what happens. And yes I heard about the Glee-esque show, It's from the producers of Jonas/Jonas L.A., not really surprised that Disney is going that route. Frankly, I'm surprised that Disney didn't come out with a show like that after the success of High School Musical, LOL. And Yeah, Zendaya is favorite cast member along with Caroline Sunshine, they are both hilarious on the show. And Yes, Demi has the best voice out of all the Disney Channel girls. Also You and I have same interests, Do you have twitter, If so Follow Me :) [2] QuasyBoy 21:26, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I feel the need to let you know that as a member of WP:RCP I always enjoy seeing your username pop up on the New Page section because you seem to have the rare ability to create and edit Justin Bieber articles in a manner that conforms with Wikipedia policy. I was hoping that more information appeared, and that Kingston's new album included the song, so it could be have more critical reception. If you wannt to continue with it, I have no problem. TbhotchTalk and C. 21:08, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Just because it happened with an article does not mean that will happen with all. Many times users have changed the "song" or "promotional single" to single, just because it has "airplay", thus giving misinformation. Remember that the main characteristic of a single is its commercial release, not its promotion. TbhotchTalk and C.
Be concient that if it is a US single, it is NOT an international single and the article MUST discuss about that. TbhotchTalk and C. 00:20, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album edit

I am so glad to see someone else working on the Grammy Awards categories! I am happy to assist with its nomination for FL status. See comments on FLC page as well. For future reference, you can view up-to-date information about the Grammy Awards lists on the "Projects" tab of my profile. I look forward to adding the star and "Done" symbols to the Contemporary R&B Album list in the near future! --Another Believer (Talk) 19:45, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

The official Grammy site is no good for finding nominees. Your best bet is to simply Google search "Grammy" + "nominee" + one or two artist names that were nominated for that year. You may have to play with the wording a bit, or even try the Google News Archive to search newspapers for details. Another option is to look at References used in other Grammy-related lists with featured status. I do this often--the source is already found, so may as well use it again for other categories! I hope this helps. Sometimes it can be tricky to find a reliable source (I have a few lists that are almost ready to go but I just need one or two more sources). Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you enjoy working on the Grammy lists! --Another Believer (Talk) 18:36, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
By the way, the list looks pretty good! I made some adjustments so that it is consistent with other Grammy-related featured lists (I have done so many and wiggled them through the FL nomination process that I can crank them out quickly!) Keep up the great work. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi! edit

Hi Candy -> Here you go (sample of Pray) [4]. Lemme tell you somethin'. Justin Bieber ain't no Justin Timberlake (said in a good way). He is the next Jesse McCartney... I was listening to this song, and when I reached around 1:21, I started feeling McCartney's vocals :O He's still improving, so who knows what he might become ;) Novice7 | Talk 09:07, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

You like McCartney? Anyway, you're exactly right. His songs are really good, but never get the attention they should get. There are many artists that I know apart from him, who are neglected just like him. About Justin, yes I do believe that he'll improve a whole lot more :) Almost everybody's voice crack, and its just a temporary issue. But, I did get a little (I mean very little) mad when he said he hated Mimi though ;D Novice7 | Talk 16:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Is it, really? Sorry then :"> I shouldn't have jumped over it... I don't want to disclose names, but lootttss of artists stay behind the curtains, and never get the chance to showcase their talents. Some are over-rated!! Hmm.. Hey, I was wondering if I was to take "Irresistible (Jessica Simpson album)" to a GT, then I should take the album, two singles and the tour (if possible). Simpson sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow". Should that be included too? In that case, I don't know anything about the song :( Novice7 | Talk 16:25, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Aha! "they"? I should find out who they are :| Lol, thanks anyway... Is it possible to have a GT with just an album and its two singles? Novice7 | Talk 16:34, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Pray / Never Say Never edit

I am confused to how this song is a single from My Worlds: The Collection, and not a single from My Worlds Acoustic? And with Never Say Never, isn't an acoustic version on the album, since it is an acoustic album, so how it could be a single from that album? Why must his releases be so confusing. :L nding·start 01:36, 19 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ah, alright. Makes sense. A page should probably be made sometime, or at least more info be added such as cover and such to the page. Haha yeah. Haha yeah. That's what I was thinking too. No official announcement was even made about the label anyway, so that part could have been untrue. Aww, that's always the pits. Haha, I know what you mean! Hey edit

Hi Candy. Long time no speak :) What do you say to "Vision of Love" for "Love Sex Magic". I am aware of the controversy regarding the recent "speedy" reviews, but I don't recall any of our articles to have been the subject. What do you say?? :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 20:20, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hows that sound?--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 01:10, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
This is a fair advice to both of you. Stop this nonsense of 1-for-1 reviews. There has been thorough discussions that this give rise to sucky and pathetic reviews and I don't wanna have a repetition of that. There was enough discussion regarding the Beyonce articles, and the Mariah articles will follow suit. Nathan, if you are aware of the "controversial" reviews, then why are you requesting for another one? And Candy, I hope you have learnt your lesson form my previous corresspondence with you and I don't want this being repeated. I'm watching all of you. — Legolas (talk2me) 18:13, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well I still don't see a problem. The main issue with it was the fact that people were rushing through the reviews to get them passed quickly. The only thing this will accomplish is to have them get reviewed, but not just passed. I can honestly say that if Candy accepts the proposition, I would still review his article the same than if it were you're Who's That Girl that was not a trade off. And when I say I'm aware, it means just that, meaning I would not let the same happen to the articles I review. Nothing more. To Candy, plese don't feel pressured. If you don't feel comfortable if really okay, I wont hold it against you :D. Thanks though for worrying Legolas ;)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 18:29, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
You know what. Never mind Candy, obviously it bothers editors so let's just forget it.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 18:36, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the late reply! I've been all over the place applying for college & everything. But not only taking into consideration what Legolas said, due the WikiCup directors discourage this also, because I had originally asked Legolas to review LSM, and they said they were against it. So I'll have to respectfully decline, even though the review would probably be right & proper. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 20:46, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Never Say Never edit

I think it's safe to say the other date was just promo. It's been re-released to iTunes, with a new cover. see here I think that cover should probably be used as the main one, and have the other one as another one. nding·start 20:41, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, that's true. But the new cover should at least be used, as well as the date. Did you see my message about Woohoo? nding·start 20:55, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well I still think it should be used anyways. xD And this one. nding·start 23:30, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I guess you're right. I have a quick question. A physical date for Back to December was added, and someone reverted me adding it saying it goes by the radio date. Would it be different for this case because it was released months after? nding·start 23:41, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

All I Know Is Falling. Hard (song) lists first purchasable date, and the release is kind of similar to this. Radio a few months before. nding·start 23:57, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Problem edit

OK, I seem to keep messing up on the new release history for Woohoo.

Hi Candy, we've spoken in the past about working on a few Mariah Carey articles, I believe you were interested in The Emancipation of Mimi for now? Well I would love to start on it in the next few days :). If you're up to it, how about you do the "Background", "Recording" and "Composition and music and lyrics" sections and I do the "Critical reception", "Commercial reception", "Promotion" and "Singles (mostly done)" and "Re-issue (Ultra platinum edition)". How does that sound. Let me know if you have any specific sections you would rather work on. Thanks :D--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 14:20, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2011 January newsletter edit

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. Signups are now closed, and we have 129 listed competitors, 64 of whom will make it to round two. Congratulations to   The Bushranger (submissions), who, at the time of writing, has a comfortable lead with 228 points, followed by   Hurricanehink (submissions), with 144 points. Four others have over 100 points. Congratulations also go to   Yellow Evan (submissions), who scored the first points in the competition, claiming for Talk:Hurricane King/GA1,   Miyagawa (submissions), who scored the first non-review points in the competition, claiming for Dognapping, and   Jarry1250 (submissions) who was the first in the competition to use our new "multiplier" mechanic (explanation), claiming for Grigory Potemkin, a subject covered on numerous Wikipedias. Thanks must also go to Jarry1250 for dealing with all bot work- without you, the competition wouldn't be happening!

A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round two is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Mimi edit

Hi Candy :) So I've started the article and have completed the "Commercial reception" and am almost done the "Singles" sections. I would like to switch something with you, since you didn't start yet. I would like to compose a "Music and lyrics" section, due to the fact that I found a lot of sources discussing the album and song's composition and instrumentation. So I will do those latter 3 and the "Critical reception" and "Awards and accolades" which is five and you do the "Background" (I'll be happy to help. I found sources on the title and stuff) "Development and recording", "Re-issue (UPE)" and "Promotion". For the last one, try and also mention all her promo for the album aside from the tour, such as all her television and award show appearances :). Thats all, that okay? Also, I suggest before we nominate it, that we each c/e each others sections. Sound good? Get started! :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 09:49, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi :). I will don't worry, I'm making sure we keep up with Confessions on a Dance Floor lol. That sounds great! Legs is doing "ILT", Novice "FLAB" and you "SIO". Sounds very cool :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 15:17, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure. So the "Background" is going to be pretty big, we need to cover all the info on how this was such a big deal for her career flollowing "CB" and "Glitter". Then the "Development and recording" is going to be about the writers and producers she worked with, things about the writers, any info on that. Then the "Music and lyrics" part will have all info on the song's production and stuff, and about the instrumentation, vocals, sound and lyrics.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 15:38, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mr. Sugary Candy, I left my support of your FLC, looks good, just lacking reviews. I did my part. Also, to inform you I am just about done my share of TEOM. Take a look it you want. Mr. Sugary Sweetness. Not to rush you at all, just out of curiosity. When do you plan to have finished TEOM? Just so I have an idea ? :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 03:11, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure! As I said there is no rush, if you need take longer. I was just wondering when your original plan was to have completed it. I'd rather it be perfect than quickly produced :) Don't worry, I'm patient.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 21:38, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Lol, yup! I know exactly what you mean. you-know-who has gotten those articles and their editors on patrol lol. Even recruiting and leaving messages for people to join the Wikiproject. Like a Surgeon edit

No, really, "Like a Surgeon" wasnt released. I looked at the page it was sourced for June 15th and it lists songs and remixes that weren't officially released, take a look. It listed "Gimmie Dat" for August 24th, which we know wasnt true. Also FMQB and allaccess and GFK radiio never gave its release. Therefore, it has no sources for release. Ciara and her label never talked about it after may 2009, and they considerably would, seeinh=g how they gave work a big video premiere. A video was never filmed nor released for the song. Also some sites have confirmed that it was cancelled. It would make sense as Fantasy Ride underperformed in the US. All these things prove that it wasn't releases. I know you may think that I'm only saying this because it didn't do well on the charts, but gimmie dat and speechless performed worse, and I wholeheartedly acknowledged there release, as they are sourced. Please check all of these facts, and you will see that it wasn't released. Also, all sites that say june 15th just got it from here, not the label. Plus, june 15th 2009 was a monday, whereas songs are released in the US on tuesdays, unless a label thinks it will be big. Please reply. Plus, I acknowledgde that "speechless" and gimmie that were released , because they were released as donloads and the latter was released to radio. This song wasn't. I dont know if your from the US, but everyone from here knows it was cancelled. I mean at leaset check and you'll see thats not an official release page. It wasn't confirmed by other sites. Prove to me that it was releases then, because that's a leak site. Neither Ciara nor her label acknowleges it as a single anymore--68.79.92.229 (talk) 00:40, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please reply instead of sending block warnings, plus how can you call "Go Girl" the lead single in the US. It wass denounced to a promo single after it had poor success. It was then confirmed by numerous sites that "Never Ever" was the new lead single in the US, with "Love Sex Magic as the second. "Like a Surgeon" was planned as the third in the US, but had no form of release. Please reply instead of just going with blocking to get what you want.--68.79.92.229 (talk) 00:53, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here's the link for the supposed radio release, as you can see all it is is leaks, it even lists Lil Wayne's Green and Yellow. So it does not show it was released. http://www.radio1.gr/music/rnb_new_songs.htm The same page listed "Gimmie Dat" for August 16th, which is around the time it leaked to radio and we all know it wasnt released till November 9th on urban radio: http://www.radio1.gr/music9/rnb_new_songs1033.htm This one says "Ride" was released to radio on April 26th, which is when it linked. It wasnt released to radio till May 4th.: http://www.radio1.gr/music9/rnb_new_songs1017.htm

Like a Surgeon not released: http://happysego.onsugar.com/Like-Surgeon-Cancelled-Ciara-Flops-Like-Fish-3755164

Radio-1 is unreliable as you have been told ask other editors who say not to use it, so you need a source to day that it was released

I somewhat agree with what this user is saying, to an extent. The sources seems to be off, and the refs pointing to them don't match up with what's being said. But I have no doubt in my mind this was released. To this IP user, this is a type of thing that needs discussion before changing. And reporting (might I add incorrectly) Candy makes no sense at all. You were the one being disruptive. nding·start 12:27, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well I know Usher was on tour during January/Feb so he wouldnt have been able to film a video anyway. But without a single to keep the momentum going the album has flopped well and truly. Have you seen the rumours of her getting dropped? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:21, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Its funny because someone emailed me the 'press release' about her being dropped and I posted it on UKMIX forums asking if anyone knew if its true or not. (if you check the Basic Instinct forum there'll be a post from myself (same user name as this wiki one...). It smells like a cover-up if ever I heard one... Basically that press release is correct but Jive won't release her because she has still one or two albums on her contract. Well I hope me posting the rumoured press release spurs Jive into thinking that its worth releasing Cici... — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 01:59, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I did post a 'this is a rumour' thing with the press release stating it landed in my inbox. but Toyaz' world and Flop of the pops also recieved it. ???? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:32, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Music sample edit

I know, she just pulls you to her music :P Here's the sample -> [7] It's going to be a little difficult to complete the article, imo, as it's from 2001. Good luck. Novice7 | Talk 06:32, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Maybe second link "rap-lite teen-pop tease" would help? Also, this, and this. Novice7 | Talk 05:47, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Candyo, your Filemanager.svg file (on the menu) doesn't show up and the commons link to it shows it might be harmful to execute? Novice7 | Talk 13:46, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oops, I meant "Candy", not "Candyo". Whenever you get free time, can you write me a synopsis for All the Man That I Need? Novice7 | Talk 13:56, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Lol, thanks, and you're welcome. It's just as amazing as your usual works :) Ooh, I found this (a review). Thanks for synopsis, I hope the song doesn't bore you :D Novice7 | Talk 14:09, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's more than enough. Thanks so so so so much!!! Did the song make you yawn??? Also, I joined a wiki (Wikimusicguide.com) long time ago, and created Justin Bieber's page. Well, you know what, it was vandalized too! Novice7 (talk) 14:34, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I'm so sorry. I like the song (like any Whitney song, obviously, lol). I'll surely try to find the release date. Novice7 (talk) 16:23, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Luckily, Allmusic had the CD Single Releases. Boys and AUS CD Single. Novice7 (talk) 16:25, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

(→) In the US, a vinyl was released, that's for sure. I don't think a CD single was released. I guess it is safe, but we don't have a solid source for that. But, don't you think the low charting due to no release is leaning a tiny bit to OR? Novice7 (talk) 16:43, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was searching for it, and as I was, I found An old review and two sources MTV and AOL. They don't state the type of release though. Novice7 (talk) 17:00, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Glad you could find it useful :) Amazing work on the article! Novice7 (talk) 17:12, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah! He should know something about this, so I thought I can ask him. I saw that, and thankfully, Xwomanizer reverted his nomination. I've asked an admin to delete the archive. I saw that review for Naturally, and also Who Owns My Heart. I even warned him of the consequences at his talk. Thank god it was you and Ipodnano. What if it was a new user like me? Seems like he doesn't get them well. Also, did you notice some of the non-minor edits he's been doing as "minor edits"? The article is almost ready. Does it deserve a screenshot for mv? Novice7 (talk) 17:22, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Me too. First, Saulo copied my review of Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know and pasted it on the review of Someday (I Will Understand), lol. He even copied my signature's font and colors :D He must read some of our guidelines. Oh, I see. I didn't read the whole mv section. Also, found a source for the lyrical content Plugged In. Novice7 (talk) 17:29, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Lol, yes he did. And, you're welcome. Novice7 (talk) 04:26, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

Have you heard Mario's "Break Up"? If so, can you help me sort it out. Not now, maybe later? Novice7 (talk) 12:53, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

And, maybe Let Me Love You too. Do you hear his songs? If not, it's okay ;) Novice7 (talk) 15:35, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I need to work on TGIFY and FLAB too. What's your opinion about Mario? I like his Break Up, Let Me Love You and some other songs. Novice7 (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Omg, I absolutely love Ne-Yo's songs. Oh, Candy buddy, it's like you read my mind :O I've already started here. Go ahead (whenever you're free) and edit anytime you like. I found a SOS source, which we can use for Recording section. I'll push "Need You Now" to the top of my priority list (Mario down :P) Seems like you're getting to like country music more. Did you watch the Grammys? How was Miranda Lambert? Her The House That Built Me is sooo adorable. I've moved it to sandbox too. You can work, if you want to. You know, I suggest Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Josh Turner. They're all awesome! Novice7 (talk) 16:07, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Lol, that's great (you like Carrie, Taylor and L.A)! To be honest, I didn't see the performance too, but I love the song (The House That Built Me). Country music takes some time to grown on us, and trust me, when we get into it, you'll love it! So, you've heard Carrie's "Songs Like This" (from Play On), "Last Name" (Carnival Ride) and "Before He Cheats" (Some Hearts)? That's the kind of country music I like the most! Oh, sorry, I blabbed a lott!!! We can work on Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now", and maybe "American Honey" too. – Novice7 (talk) 15:35, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Comeback edit

Hey, how do you want to handle the reviews for "Comeback"? I've been very loosely drafting reception of the episode itself in a sandbox, while leaving out all the music-related commentary (eg. working from the layout of "The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle", but specifically only on the "Episode" section). I thought that might be the easiest way to split it up - I don't mind at all if you'd rather do it some other way, but I just want to make sure we're not editing over one another :) Frickative 15:03, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good stuff :) I just figured that one of us concentrating on episodic reception and the other on music might keep us from inadvertently covering the same reviews at the same time. If they're any use to you, the ones I've so far skimmed over for being solely music reviews are [9], [10] and [11]. [12] has some praise of the "Take Me or Leave Me" duet, [13] is mostly a plot-based review but does touch on the songs, and the last page of [14] is a music review. (I'm sure you've already come across most of these yourself, they're just what I've still got open in tabs atm!) Frickative 15:22, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's what I was hoping - I really don't mind if you'd rather do it another way, I just want to make sure we're not redundantly covering the same stuff (case in point, by a funny coincidence I was working through the Time review at the same time, haha). No worries about it being on the long side - Time (and The A.V. Club) always seem to go far more in-depth than all the other critics :) Frickative 15:34, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Totally, whatever works for you! Most eps are split by songs/subplots just because that's how I personally find it easiest to compile, but if working reviewer-by-reviewer is your preferred method, then by all means go right ahead. Frickative 15:41, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure thing - I've copied bits to work with from The A.V. Club, The Atlantic, and Entertainment Weekly, but I don't have anything down from the others, so that would be great. A couple more that might be of use - MTV and the NY Daily News. (Mostly recaps, but with titbits that might be usable). Frickative 15:50, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looks good to me! Don't worry about length, especially if you're thinking of perhaps re-arranging it by song afterwards - if a few of the critics end up making similar points, it's usually pretty easy to rein in that way :) Frickative 16:01, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
The music section and lead are shaping up brilliantly :D Your wording in the lead summarising the critical response sounds more impressive than I managed in the actual section, haha. I only just finished watching the episode all the way through, so if you did go through the plot, that would be great, and then I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow. A Mark Salling image sounds good, and then if the "Music" section expands enough to require breaking up a bit (actually, glancing a it now it might be at that point already?), perhaps a double image of Lea Michele and Amber Riley for their duet? It really has been fantastic collaborating with you, and I very much hope another episode piques your interest similarly in future! Frickative 00:00, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hey, the "Music and performances" section looks great! No worries at all about being verbose, I'm exactly the same way (& really didn't intend for "Critical response" to end up over 1,000 words long, haha). I'll go through both sections later and see if there's any paraphrasing or slight trimming that can be done to rein them in a little bit. And thanks for both tidying up the plot, and the Billboard link - good to have an opposing POV on that scene :) Frickative 14:18, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

What do you think edit

Of this? Is it okay? Also, is this worth mentioning in the article? – Novice7 (talk) 15:41, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! Yeah, I'm very afraid. But, seeing Speechless (Michael Jackson song), I have a little hope :) Oh, and the article, where can I mention it? The music video section? – Novice7 (talk) 16:03, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I've seen Goodies' FA archive. I'm trying to find as much as I can for Irresistible, digging up old archives and things like that. Of course, I'll try to find sources for Justin. Maybe this? Lol, I know what you're thinking :D I only give you Plugged In links :D I promise, I'll surely find out more. So, if you're free (and if possible), can you write me a simple synopsis of this? The Bow Wow-Dupri part has the priority. Jessica's parts are not needed. Thanks! – Novice7 (talk) 03:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi again! When you compare this to this, which is better? I'm waiting for an e-mail from Simon Brand so that I can add some references to the music video section. Can you do me the synopsis? I know I'm forcing you to do something, and I'm extremely sorry for that :( Pika Pika ;) – Novice7 (talk) 17:00, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for my lame Pikachu comment :"> So, whenever you're free, can you do the synopsis? – Novice7 (talk) 16:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's okay. I saw you were busy. Well, the synopsis.. You don't have to. There's nothing much in the video. – Novice7 (talk) 03:17, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure, thanks. Well, as for the FAC, so far one support. Release dates obtained from Amazon have been questioned. It's kinda taking too much time, imo. Sometimes, Recording and production might be asked (lettin' you know as you're planning on nominating Love Sex Magic sometime) Also, I heard that "tbh" has been added to dictionary? – Novice7 (talk) 03:29, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mimi edit

Candy, I really don't like bothering, but we made it up 3 weeks ago, and you've promised it to be done already twice. I mean, you're only doing like 4 sections. I mean I honestly am excited to have this article done, are you going to be able to finish it? Can you give me a final concrete date that you'll be finished? But a concrete one, even if Justin Bieber has a new album :P--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 00:38, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

PS - Feel free to use My Sandbox for the work. I have been done a while so noone touches it :P. The lead is already done, so use it if you'd like.?.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 00:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is there a reason you aren't responding to me? I mean come on, please stop leaving me here hanging Candy!--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 09:04, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
You do realize that we began 26 days ago, and that I've been don for over 16 days right? I mean its great you've finally got some stuff down, but you still have a lot to do and you have already given me like 3 different final dead-lines. I mean when do you honestly plan to get this done?--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 04:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I mean obviously I'm not forcing you to do it, you can take as long as you would like. But I mean realistically how long does it take to do a GA? I mean no offense but you have like 48 under your belt already, and I know this is a long one, but since your only doing like 40% it really isn't longer than a regular Bieber article. You just should understand that I am kind of excited to get this project done, so I just didn't think it would take so long. I don't want you to think I'm pressuring you or being rude, that isn't my intent, you know I always want to have a very easy and smooth relationship with you, and want to hopefully do more projects with you. Honestly, the only thing I want is just to know when, you know just so I ca plan other things around it and be able to pace myself. Thats all. If you tell me you will for sure have it done by March 21 (3 weeks) thats fine, I just like having dead-lines, just so I have a guarantee. I know its weird but it keeps me at ease lol. So thats all I ask, not for you to vomit a quickly done thing by tomorrow, just a date you will have it completed by, but a real one, whether it be April 1st. So be completely honest this time :P :). And please respond to me! lol, I'm not your teacher, you don't have to feel uneasy about telling me you need more time.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 12:30, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2011 February newsletter edit

So begins round two of the WikiCup! We now have eight pools, each with eight random contestants. This round will continue until the end of April, when the top two of each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers of those remaining, will make it to round three. Congratulations to   The Bushranger (submissions) (first, with 487 points) and   Hurricanehink (submissions) (second, with 459), who stormed the first round.   Casliber (submissions) finished third with 223. Twelve others finished with over 100 points- well done to all of you! The final standings in round one can be seen here. A mere 8 points were required to reach round two; competition will no doubt be much more fierce this round, so be ready for a challenge! A special thanks goes, again, to   Jarry1250 (submissions) for dealing with all bot work. This year's bot, as well as running smoothly, is doing some very helpful things that last year's did not. Also, thanks to   Stone (submissions) for some helpful behind-the-scenes updating and number crunching.

Some news for those who are interested- March will see a GAN backlog elimination drive, which you are still free to join. Organised by WikiProject Good articles, the drive aims to minimise the GAN backlog and offers prizes to those who help out. Of course, you may well be able to claim WikiCup points for the articles you review as part of the drive. Also ongoing is the Great Backlog Drive, looking to work on clearing all of the backlogs on Wikipedia; again, incentives are offered, and the spirit of friendly competition is alive, while helping the encyclopedia is the ultimate aim. Though unrelated to the WikiCup, these may well be of interest to some of you.

Just a reminder of the rules; if you have done significant work on content this year and it is promoted in this round, you may claim for it. Also, anything that was promoted after the end of round one but before the beginning of round two may be claimed for in round two. Details of the rules can be found on this page. For those interested in statistics, a running total of claims can be seen here, and a very interesting table of that information (along with the highest scorers in each category) can be seen here. It's okay. I didn't see someone was copy-editing in the first place :D Yes, it is amazing!! I don't know... ET (solo) is great, but with Kanye (I don't like Kanye much :P).. Yes, J.Lo is gonna be #1 next week (that is, if the sales are steady) Aahh, Brit's "Till the World Ends" is good, but nothing like "Toxic", "Overprotected" or even "Outrageous". Yep, Gaga needs to move :D Oh, I see Knock You Down is an FAC. Good luck! Novice7 (talk) 04:08, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, he was pretty popular in the mid-2000s, but that's about it. He hasn't been relatively successful in the past few years, and would not make the short list of greatest rappers of the past ten years. He really never got out of the post- first-album block.Candyo32 14:40, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ya.. I listened to Camera Phone. Not that good (Ne-Yo is good). Back to Brit. Omg, I totally agree. I love all her albums from BOMT to ITZ. Blackout had some decent songs, but I don't like her going too much into electropop. She should return back to her dance roots. And, lmao, I thought I was the only one who thought Ga is over-rated. BEP's songs are good, but too much auto-tune. As for ET, I like the solo, as I said, and I agree Kanye's featured singles are great (I like your current FAC Knock You Down, Run This Town... and few others). Speaking about FAC, I changed the link of Source to a direct one. Novice7 (talk) 15:04, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
OMG I used to LOVE the BEP until this muck came out. My Humps was their best, IMO. will.i.am is too obsessed with the dance/autotune stuff (yuck). And personally I think Blackout was Brit's best work. :-) Adabow (talk · contribs) 03:29, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I also wish the same. But don't you think R&B is going down these days? I mean, in countries excluding the US? Jivesh Talk2Me 15:45, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was going to come to that. I mean, look at Usher..... When "OMG" and "DJ got us fallin' in love" were released in the UK, they did so well. But when "More" was released, it only managed a top thirty peak. But i will always love R&B. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:49, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

May i ask you something? Jivesh Talk2Me 15:50, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you are right. You must be the ........ tenth or even the fifteenth person telling me this. But let's be positive. I used to love Lady GaGa but now i hate her for being so eccentric. Do you think people would listen to her music if she wasn't so eccentric? She has even started laying eggs in her videos. And making men dance on heels is just the limit. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:52, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rihanna has also changed but i still like her. Did you see the video for "S&M"? She really has a lot of guts. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:54, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

By the way, do you like Katy Perry? Since the release of "Teenage Dream", i fell in love with her music, "E.T" is my favorite song. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:56, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reply me whenever you get time. I am logging off. I am going to watch Desperate Housewives. I really liked chatting with you after so many days. I hope we get such opportunities more often. You rarely reply to my messages now. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:58, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

It was discussed at Template_talk:Infobox_album/Archive_6#Proposed_new_wording. Sorry I didn't direct you to the discussion - you're usually one of the first I post to. :-) I was kinda being a bit bold by interpreting the discussion and updating the doc, but seeing as you and Jivesh aren't that keen, feel free to revert! Ugh, this user is starting to annoy the hell out of me! They keep doing it! That's great you're well. I bet you're pretty excited to be on your own, but scared at the same time I reckon? (LOL, I'm currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird in school, my language has become very old fashion recently.) Yeah, I'm pretty excited too. I'm really proud of her. Finally getting some success, that's long awaited I'd say. I don't care too much for the title "I'm Into You", I need something more than that. "Good Hit" gives me life. I wish she'd just release that. Yeah, I hope so too. It's a great song, it's not her best though. It's a bit too generic for me, but nobody can do it like her though, so it's kind of different. xD Haha, ikr? To believe she's just releasing her second album, 3 years after her first, and she hasn't gone anywhere. xD nding·start 21:19, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

Wow! That is great news :D Just to help out a sec, I tried finding sources for performances but it is tricky, just so you have an idea.

Mariah performed "It's Like That" on "VH1 Save the Music" Alongside "I'll Be There" with Trey, and "With You I'm Born Again" with Legend :) Also on Ellen, 106 & Park, Echo Awards, BET: Blueprint alongside "Vision of Love" and "We Belong Together", Top of the Pops, New Years Eve on the ball drop on TV alongside "We Belong Together remix" and "Shake It Off", Saturday Night Take Away, and on her first stop to GMA alongside "Make It Happen", "We Belong Together", "Its Like That" and "Shake It Off"

Mariah performed "We Belong Together" at the following, aside from previously mentioned places. Letterman, Leno, 2005 MTV Awards, Ellen (same day as ILT), Oprah, Live 8 in UK (alongside Hero and Make It Happen), Grammys (alongside FLAB), MTV Music Awards (remix), BET Awards, Bambi Awards (remix), Fashion Rocks (remix), The View, Japan Music Awards

Mariah performed "Shake It Off" at the World Music Awards, GMA second times as well, NFL thanksgiving halftime (alongside DFAU), TOTP

Mariah performed DFAU on AMAs, Pepsi Smash 2006

There you go, a lot of fcking promo lol. But there you have pretty much all of it :D--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 07:35, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2011 March newsletter edit

We are half way through round two of the WikiCup, which will end on 28 April. Of the 64 current contestants, 32 will make it through to the next round; the two highest in each pool, and the 16 next highest scorers. At the time of writing, our current overall leader is   Hurricanehink (submissions) with 231 points, who leads Pool H.   Piotrus (submissions) (Pool G) also has over 200 points, while 9 others (three of whom are in Pool D) have over 100 points. Remember that certain content (specifically, articles/portals included in at least 20 Wikipedias as of 31 December 2010 or articles which are considered "vital") is worth double points if promoted to good or featured status, or if it appears on the main page in the Did You Know column. There were some articles last round which were eligible for double points, but which were not claimed for. For more details, see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring.

A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round three is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! Last Time edit

Candy, this will be the last time I come to you before I assume you've rudely dropped our project. I have waited 10 weeks for you to do 40% of a freaking article. You claim you have been "searching for sources," well you're two/three sections only have around 4-5 sources while mine cover over 100. You are obviously not taking this seriously, and its upsetting that you keep either not answering or giving me these BS dead-lines. In case you didn't realize, its almost April 8th, way past your 4th dead-line. I will no longer play this game with you. You have 51 GAs, I doubt any of them have taken a tenth of the time you've taken here. You have until Monday at 12AM when I arrive back from a trip. If you're not done, then our joint effort is through.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 01:56, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

There is no bad faith whatsoever. I am pointing out facts. First of all Candy, this wasn't a favor to me, I never needed help to complete her discography. We made a joint project, so I don't see where this became a favor. You know what, thanks. I'm glad you're a quitter, and leave me waiting 2.5 months before telling me you quit. Thanks a lot. You know what, thats not even what I'm pissed about, its all the BS you have fed me. Telling me you'll have it like four times already, and then on March 24, telling me you're almost done and will probably be done before April 1st. Whoe and behold, another two weeks and you don't even say a word. No person on earth would think the way you've acted is fair or just, no one. In the future, don't make commitments you can't keep, and don't procrastinate and BS others into waiting months for you. If you even wrote 1 line a day, you would have finished long before today. Long before. Lol, I'm sure you're gonna do "Shake It Off" too *Chuckles*, Don't worry, I never actually believed that one.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 02:20, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm still puzzled as to how you think 2.5 months and more is a fair amount of time for less than half an article. Be reasonable please. Anyway, as I've expressed from the beginning, I do not wish to fight or have a ruined relationship with you. I just think you're not being rational. Well, as Nicole says, I won't hold my breathe.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 02:34, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Candy, how are you? Hope I'm not taking too much of your time - good luck with the college scholarships or whatever they are (I don't really get the US school system :P). Anyway, you know how Allaccess only lists their radio dates for a little bit? You can archive them through WebCite. Not sure if you knew about this already, but I'll explain. Plug the URL in here and fill in your (or a BS/fake) email address and submit it. You can search through the archives here and select the date that a page was archived. And voilà! You have your webpage accessible forever! :-) Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:16, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Assistance with editor edit

I'd like to ask for some assistance with an unconstructive editor to the article The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III), User:208.65.20.140, who made potentially controversial changes to content without verifying or explaining, removing content of infobox genres supported in the article and adding unsourced text to the lead. The user's been pretty unresponsive to my message regarding those issue, but responded only when I mentioned at their talk page reverting their edit. The user's also accused me of harrassing them, so their most likely not gonna come around to me. I'd appreciate some input regarding this conflict. Dan56 (talk) 02:45, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Shake It Up edit

I wasn't trying to add original research. I was stating that Caroline Sunshine is credited as a guest-star, but merely acknowledging that she appears to many viewers as one of the leads in order to appease the various editors who keep insisting that she is part of the "main" cast. I realize that she is NOT part of the main cast (and I stated that in the notation), but I was just trying to find a "compromise", hoping that adding this note would put an end to the constant edits on the subject while remaining factually accurate with regards to her being a "guest-star". --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 01:56, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I actually agree - unless someone cites a reliable source that she is (or will be) part of the main cast, the assertion should not be added. I could probably link to 100 message boards with viewers posting asking why she is not credited as a main cast-member (it's by far the #1 question I see brought up most often about the show), but I didn't think it was necessary to cite them all on the page. I was just trying to find a way to factually clarify that she is a guest-star while acknowledging viewers' confusion. I still think some notation on the page would be a good idea as a way to stop the constant additions - if you can think of another way to word it. Otherwise I'll be requesting a semi-protection lock be reinstated on the page if the same edits persist. --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 02:15, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I was just trying to think of another way to say it. I was thinking of something like "Although Sunshine appears alongside Kenton Duty most of the time, she is credited as a "guest-star". Something to appease the younger viewers'/editors' frustration, but clearly explaining that Disney credits her as a guest-star. I also tried to add a more detailed explanation on the talk page earlier today, but we both know that maybe 1% of the young users will ever view the talk page and just edit the main article how they think it SHOULD be instead. I've never heard of a "hidden" comment - what is that? --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 02:45, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind - I just realized what you meant by a "hidden" comment. That's a good idea - I'll make a hidden note about it instead. --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 02:59, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thankssss!! I appreciate it alot. I've been trying to get some stuff done and nominated in hopes that it can help me in the WikiCup but its already backed up and I doubt alot will even be done by the 26th. Hope all is well over there! I don't know if I told you this before, but after first despising it, I love "Blow" and the video even better. I think she needs to refrain from the EP and just leave it at Blow and begin her second album now, and take time and release it in like the spring of next year. Candyo32 23:19, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hahaha, you're beginning to like her muhahaha. Truthfully i thought Blow i was going to flop but its 4 on radio right now and 11 on itunes still. And im not sure what shes going to do, "Cannibal" has already been confirmed as a single, but im hearing "Crazy Beautiful Life" on radio daily then yesterday she confirmed shes in the Studio with Luke recording, no clue what shes going to do. Biebs needs to hurry up and get on his 700th2nd album as well. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:26, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I like certain songs over hers lol. Every artist I like has their spot and she might not be my favorite or the best vocally, but she's definitely the auto-tune queen party-starter lol. And yes the Biebs does. They confirmed sometime ago that he would have an album out by the end of this year (probably around Christmas so they can get all those holiday sales in to have numerous big number weeks like Taylor Swift). But I know they want him to slow it down with the releases now, but then again you gotta strike the iron like its hot. But I still think he has the longevity factor. But so much is going on in music now, you got Lady Gaga, Britney, Beyonce, Katy, Ke$ha, and Rihanna doing all this stuff at the same time. I really like Gaga's new "Judas" but its so similar to "Bad Romance" and I'm really over her controversial image now. I'm tired of seeing her outrageous outfits and appearing basically naked, and I'm tired of her controversial videos and lyrics. Although I'm not in love with Bey's new single it is vintage Beyonce, and she's gonna deliver a high-powered music video and show why she's the top in the game now. I just wish she would do something other than female empowerment. But at least she stayed urban and didn't go dance-pop. As for Brit, I love "Till the World Ends" and its video slays. If she could only do at least one live performance decently to shut up the haters. Katy's doing awesome, and I love E.T. but the video is just alright although it has sick effects, and Kanye helped the hip-hop vibe already in the song. As for Rihanna....well she's not my favorite, but I liked her alot after I see her thin, whiny vocals improved in her live performance of "California King Bed." I dislike that she's supposedly so groundbreaking with all these records, but she does what she is set out to do, make dance records and be a singles hoe lol. Anyway that's my rant haha. Candyo32 23:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I like Rihanna but i dont respect her as an artist same with Brit, you need to write your own stuff. And oh my gosh, Gaga's new album cover O_O oh dear... And you're complete write about all the girls in the game at the moment, Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Britney, now Beyonce, the chicks are taking over. And im trying to like her B's new song, i respect her for not going the electronic route like everyone else BUT the demo is not her best, hopefully the finished product is better. And FYI, Ke$ha's new album (still done by Luke) is supposedly going to be a blend of "Party At A Rich Dudes House" with an electronic edge. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:54, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
[15] Heres the final, and it goes harder than the unmastered. But yeah until Rihanna goes something better, she's just gonna be nothing but a singles artist. But "It's Britney Bitch" lolLL!! So she just acts and does anything she feels like it. But seriously, most of her cred now just comes from the fact of who she is, not her work. And as you already know I love "Sleazy." So I wish she would drop the auto-tune sing-songing and go for less treated vocals with a harder, rap driven style. Candyo32 00:28, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I still dont like it, hopefully the video will change my mind. And her dropping her style is unlikely, shes signed to Luke first for 3-4 albums then to RCA, so its up to Luke what she does =/ - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 21:23, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice work Candy, I love it how you sent ten tracks to GAN at once haha. If you wanna get throught to the next WikiCup round, you might find some success by posting your GANs at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. I'll start reviewing A Year Without Rain (song), that's my favourite by Gomez. Adabow (talk · contribs) 01:28, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, just add your articles to the list. And I'm not ecstatic about Run the World either, but there are rumours that the leaked one isn't finished yet? I was so thrilled with the leaked snippet, but the full track...meh. And yes, I'm glad she didn't cave into the dance-pop drivel like Usher, Rihanna etc. LOL, her subjects have certainly been told. Have you noticed that Bey usually has the bigger hits as the second single though? I mean Baby Boy, Irreplaceable, Single Ladies/Halo are some of her biggest hits, and they weren't leads, so the best may be yet to come... Adabow (talk · contribs) 01:54, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2011 April newsletter edit

Round 2 of the 2011 WikiCup is over, and the new round will begin on 1 May. Note that any points scored in the interim (that is, for content promoted or reviews completed on 29-30 April) can be claimed in the next round, but please do not start updating your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. Fewer than a quarter of our original contestants remain; 32 enter round 3, and, in two months' time, only 16 will progress to our penultimate round.   Casliber (submissions), who led Pool F, was our round champion, with 411 points, while 7 contestants scored between 200 and 300 points. At the other end of the scale, a score of 41 was high enough to reach round 3; more than five times the score required to reach round 2, and competition will no doubt become tighter now we're approaching the later rounds. Those progressing to round 3 were spread fairly evenly across the pools; 4 progressed from each of pools A, B, E and H, while 3 progressed from both pools C and F. Pools D and G were the most successful; each had 5 contestants advancing.

This round saw our first good topic points this year; congratulations to   Hurricanehink (submissions) and   Nergaal (submissions) who also led pool H and pool B respectively. However, there remain content types for which no points have yet been scored; featured sounds, featured portals and featured topics. In addition to prizes for leaderboard positions, the WikiCup awards other prizes; for instance, last year, a prize was awarded to   Candlewicke (submissions) (who has been eliminated) for his work on In The News. For this reason, working on more unusual content could be even more rewarding than usual!

Sorry this newsletter is going out a little earlier than expected- there is a busy weekend coming up! A running total of claims can be seen here. Well hello there Candy :P Nice to hear from you too. Yup, my queen diva had her babies :) I am also very curious for the names. Supposedly, they picked them the day they met. BTW, hows TEOM coming along? ;)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 01:44, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Candy. Not trying to rush you, but since you haven't replied, I would like to make sure about something so I don't get mixed up. Are you still on board for the last two sections on Mimi. Its been another month, and you haven't really been clear with me if you are still intertested. Let me know the status and your feelings, so if not I can get to it soon myself. Thanks and please get back to me :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 20:34, 5 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, so I'll give the promotion section a try as you get to that last section. As for the name, Monroe is OK, but Morrocan Scott is, well, wierd lol. So I just completed the "Promotion" section and added a "Tour" section as well, due to the amount of content and sources I found. Take a look and tell me what you think. Aside from a copy-edit, small linking and source fixes, as well as some tweaks I still gotta do on some sections, all we are waiting for is that last section you have. Question edit

Hey! I just have a small question on the Love Me (Justin Bieber song) page. You said that the Smeezingtons were credited on the song, yet on my album booklet, their names aren't under the names of the writers for the song. I may just be confused on this, but I didn't think they had written it. If you could please explain to me, that'd be nice! Thanks! Gabbyx23 (talk) 22:38, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

RE: RE: Your Love Composition edit

I really didn't understand anything that you had written; however, I'm willing to hazard a guess as to what you are attempting to communicate. Honestly, most pages that have to do with rap songs have nothing about the composition of it: rap inherently is composed in such a way that most people know how it is composed, thus your argument of "people not knowing" really is a moot point. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Echoghost (talkcontribs) 14:49, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re:Hi edit

Hello Candyo! Thank you so much, that means so much coming from you, especially since you've been with me since the beginning of my addiction to wikipedia articles! Hahahahaa I was actually just looking at the compositions/music and lyrics I've done on different page and it looks like I've done that a lot; but thanks for bringing it up because now i can fix it :D And regarding the "Super Bass" sample, i happen to have no clue on how to even make the sample, so i ask a friend User:Novice7 to make them for me, so he basically chooses which part of the song the sample samples... Haha But you bring up a good point, it would fit the music and lyric section better if it sampled more Nicki than the uncredited artist in the chorus... :p

well before i bore you with this rather long response, i await your return to Ms.Nicki pages! :D Theuhohreo (talk) 17:31, 7 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

If it will take you long, then I'll just do it myself, I'm already in the mindset. I only ask if you have collected any sources for the section. I believe you told me you had quite a few. I only managed to find this one which lists some background info for the song's recording. If you can give me a few more I'd be grateful. Whatever you want, you can go ahead and upload a newer version to my music video still, i dont mind :p And Yessss! "Super Bass" is doing amazingly, from what i see! So exciting! :D I want her new album to sound a lot more like "Super Bass" i hope she takes the hint :p. WikiCup 2011 May newsletter edit

We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round.   Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by   Racepacket (submissions),   Hurricanehink (submissions) and   Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.

A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. WikiCup 2011 June newsletter edit

We are half way through 2011, and entering the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; the semi-finals are upon us! Points scored in the interim (29/30 June) may be counted towards next round, but please do not update your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. 16 contestants remain, and all have shown dedication to the project to reach this far. Our round leader was   Casliber (submissions) who, among other things, successfully passed three articles through featured article candidates and claimed an impressive 29 articles at Did You Know, scoring 555 points. Casliber led pool D. Pool A was led by   Wizardman (submissions), claiming points for a featured article, a featured list and seven good article reviews, while pool C was led by   Eisfbnore (submissions), who claimed for two good articles, ten articles at Did You Know and four good article reviews. They scored 154 and 118 respectively. Pool B was by far our most competitive pool; six of the eight competitors made it through to round 4, with all of them scoring over 100 points. The pool was led by   Hurricanehink (submissions), who claimed for, among other things, three featured articles and five good articles. In addition to the four pool leaders, 12 others (the four second places, and the 8 next highest overall) make up our final 16. The lowest scorer who reached round 4 scored 76 points; a significant increase on the 41 needed to reach round 3. Eight of our semi-finalists scored at least twice as much as this.

No points were awarded this round for featured pictures, good topics or In the News, and no points have been awarded in the whole competition for featured topics, featured portals or featured sounds. Instead, the highest percentage of points has come from good articles. Featured articles, despite their high point cost, are low in number, and so, overall, share a comparable number of points with Did You Know, which are high in number but low in cost. A comparatively small but still considerable number of points come from featured lists and good article reviews, rounding out this round's overall scores.

We would again like to thank   Jarry1250 (submissions) and   Stone (submissions) for invaluable background work, as well as all of those helping to provide reviews for the articles listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please do keep using it, and please do help by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup.

Two final notes: Firstly, please remember to state your participation in the WikiCup when nominating articles at FAC. Finally, some WikiCup-related statistics can be seen here and here, for those interested, though it appears that neither are completely accurate at this time. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! There are currently 2 Grammy-related lists at FLC (Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year and Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance), so be sure to offer feedback/comments if possible. WikiCup 2011 July newsletter edit

We are half way through the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; there is less than a month to go before we have our final 8. Our pool leaders are   Adabow (submissions) (Pool A, 189 points) and   PresN (submissions) (Pool B, 165 points). The number of points required to reach the next round is not clear at this time; there are some users who still do not have any recorded points. Please remember to update your submissions' pages promptly. In addition, congratulations to PresN, who scored the first featured topic points in the competition for his work on Thatgamecompany related articles. Most points this round generally have, so far, come from good articles, with only one featured article (White-bellied Sea Eagle, from   Casliber (submissions)) and two featured lists (Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, from PresN and Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album, from   Another Believer (submissions)). Points for Did You Know and good article reviews round out the scoring. No points have been awarded for In the News, good topics or featured pictures this round, and no points for featured sounds or portals have been awarded in the entire competition. On an unrelated note, preparation will be beginning soon for next year's WikiCup- watch this space!

There is little else to be said beyond the usual. Please list anything you need reviewing on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, so others following the WikiCup can help, and please do help if you can by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup- points are, of course, offered for reviews at GAC. WikiCup 2011 July newsletter edit

The finals are upon us; we're down to the last few. One of the eight remaining contestants will be this year's WikiCup champion! 150 was the score needed to progress to the final; just under double the 76 required to reach round 4, and more than triple the 41 required to reach round 3. Our eight finalists are:

  •   Casliber (submissions), Pool A's winner. Casliber has the highest total score in the competition, with 1528, the bulk of which is made up of 8 featured articles. He has the highest number of total featured articles (8, 1 of which was eligible for double points) and total did you knows (72) of any finalist. Casliber writes mostly on biology, including ornithology, botany and mycology.
  •   PresN (submissions), Pool B's winner and the highest scorer this round. PresN is the only finalist who has scored featured topic points, and he has gathered an impressive 330, but most of his points come from his 4 featured articles, one of which scored double. PresN writes mostly on video games and the Hugo Awards.
  •   Hurricanehink (submissions), Pool A's runner-up. Hurricanehink's points are mostly from his 30 good articles, more than any other finalist, and he is also the only finalist to score good topic points. Hurricanehink, as his name suggests, writes mostly on meteorology.
  •   Wizardman (submissions), Pool B's runner-up. Wizardman has completed 86 good article reviews, more than any other finalist, but most of his points come from his 2 featured articles. Wizardman writes mostly on American sport, especially baseball.
  •   Miyagawa (submissions), the "fastest loser" (Pool A). Miyagawa has written 3 featured lists, one of which was awarded double points, more than any other finalist, but he was awarded points mostly for his 68 did you knows. Miyagawa writes on a variety of topics, including dogs, military history and sport.
  •   Resolute (submissions), the second "fastest loser" (Pool B). Most of Resolute's points come from his 9 good articles. He writes mostly on Canadian topics, including ice hockey.
  •   Yellow Evan (submissions), who was joint third "fastest loser" (Pool A). Most of Evan's points come from his 10 good articles, and he writes mostly on meteorology.
  •   Sp33dyphil (submissions), who was joint third "fastest loser" (Pool B). Most of Phil's points come from his 9 good articles, 4 of which (more than any other finalist) were eligible for double points. He writes mostly on aeronautics.

We say goodbye to our seven other semi-finalists,   Another Believer (submissions),   Piotrus (submissions),   Grandiose (submissions),   Stone (submissions),   Eisfbnore (submissions),   Canada Hky (submissions) and   MuZemike (submissions). Everyone still in the competition at this stage has done fantastically well, and contributed greatly to Wikipedia. We're on the home straight now, and we will know our winner in two months.

In other news, preparations for next year's competition have begun with a brainstorming thread. Please, feel free to drop by and share any thoughts you have about how the competition should work next year. Sign ups are not yet open, but will be opened in due course. Watch this space. Further, there has been a discussion about the rule whereby those in the WikiCup must delcare their participation when nominating articles at featured article candidates. This has resulted in a bot being created by new featured article delegate Ucucha (talk · contribs). The bot will leave a message on FAC pages if the nominator is a participant in the WikiCup.

A reminder of the rules: any points scored after August 29 may be claimed for the final round, and please remember to update submission pages promptly. If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. User edit

{{admin help}} This user is showing extreme similarities of a sockpuppet from before. Could someone help me out here? Candyo32 19:36, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Can you please provide the comparison information, e.g., "this edit is similar to this edit, and this edit is similar to this edit..." Best would be to supply diffs, but if that's unfamiliar to you, just do your best to tell us which articles and what edits you are talking about.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 01:44, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
... or at the very least say what "sockpuppet from before" you are referring to. At present I have no idea what to look for. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:04, 23 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Almostlove.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Almostlove.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 17:13, 24 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
