Head's up

Just so's you know, to specify notability you add piping (e.g. Notability|music|date or Notability|companies|date). I fixed your edit at Brooklyn's Don Diva. Peace —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 20:31, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

WP:RFPP reports

Great job on those three you submitted recently! Keep up the good work, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 06:41, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. That's because I had those 3 pages on my watchlist, and they just had a LOT of vandalism on St. Patrick's Day (I thought that day was for good luck!) --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 02:22, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Beijing

Hey Arbor to SJ/Archive 2! I'm currently planning the launch of the WikiProject Beijing, depending on if enough other editors would be interested in such a project. I saw you have edited the main Beijing page recently and therefor might be interested. If you are, please sign: User:Poeloq/WikiProject_Beijing. As I am posting this to quite a few editors, I am not watching your page and would ask you to reply with any comment or questions on my talk page. Cheers, Poeloq (talk) 20:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Lil Wayne Page

You have removed the "notable names" section from this page. Originally these names where in the Alias section, but were removed because according to Wiki rules for Alias's the artist has to release under them. I felt that these names needed to be mentioned in the page somewhere as most people(including Lil Wayne himself in some songs) refer to him using them. If you don't believe this is the right section for them, where would you suggest they be put? I feel that there has to be some place to put them that we can both agree on. If you could let me know, I would appreciate it. Zad27 (talk) 19:22, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok, so perhaps putting some of the names in the lead into would work better. I'll try that and see how it goes. Zad27 (talk) 22:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguation using popups

It looks like you have popupFixDabs set to true in your monobook.js so there should be links at the bottom of the popup window anytime you point to a link that goes to a disambiguation page.

Michael Jackson

I thank you for your helpful edits to the michael jackson article, its a rarity that such a thing happens on that article. Realist2 (talk) 00:18, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

He also you seem to know a lot about MJ so you might be interested in this, the Thriller album is being reviewed for GA. The reviewer has said it will pass, all that needs doing is the sources need formatting. We have formatted 100!!!! but there are stll anther 52 left to format, if you want to chip in and help the article reach GA please do. Realist2 (talk) 03:30, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Homophobia article

Hi, I have to insist that the edit I've made to the homophobia article remain in the article. It's incredibly insulting for the segment that reads "homophobia is a controversial term because of debatable ethical views" to be included if the segment that states that homophobia is prejudice (which it absolutely is) is not included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JuMorris (talkcontribs) 04:02, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

MJ

See the MJ FA review. I have responded to your concern. Realist2 (talk) 22:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Ive resolved the 300 hundred thing. I did some reading and my book specifis it at several hundred. He does so much privately there's no direct figure. Are you 100% sure we cant use youtube, there are tons of links where he is congratulated for giving the specific 300 figure. However to keep the peace im prepared to stick with several hundred. Realist2 (talk) 05:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, you voted to support the MJ article going to FA. The article is doing very well, 6 support 2 oppose. However i, and i believe you also, would like to get those who oppose on side. They are requesting additional copy editing which i have started doing. If you could improve the article in any way in this issue, please, please do. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 22:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Im sure your aware by now i closed the nomination. It still needs a good copy edit apparently, if you ca help please do, yours. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 05:32, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup on Southern rap artists

You mind taking a look at some Southern hip hop artists -- DJ Drama, Yo Gotti, Young Buck, P$C (which may be again deleted by now) and Lord T & Eloise for some cleanup and advice on keeping/getting these articles stable and well sourced? I try not to interfere too much with sourced content unless it obviously conflicts with WP:BLP, but the volume of repetitive, nn, redlinked or POV edits makes it difficult to keep up. Flowanda | Talk 02:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Federalist Society

Must you cite to Lyndon LaRouche in this article? You can surely find better sources than EIR and the Huffington Post. Gabriel Duvall (talk) 20:08, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Blog posts are never appropriate for BLP, except for articles about the author of the blog post. Look up Lyndon Larouche for why EIR isn't appropriate. The entire listing is unencyclopedic: as the talk page notes, nearly every American conservative or libertarian attorney in the 21st century is a member of the Federalist Society -- it's like listing the famous members of the District of Columbia bar or the American Bar Association. If you must have a listing, go to the Fed Soc website, it lists the members of each executive committee for each practice group. You can also go by articles written by members that talk about their membership (e.g., Viet Dinh or Eugene Volokh). You can't go by who speaks at events, since the Federalist Society is a debating society, and invites non-members to debate members. Gabriel Duvall (talk) 10:24, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edit(s) to Conservapedia, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Speedy deletion of Image:Eminem warrior.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Eminem warrior.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Eminem warrior.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nice Work

Hi, I just wanna say that I think your work the Dr. Dre article has been great and that you've done well to put the page up for GAN. Also, I've uploaded quite afew samples of Dre's music from N.W.A, The Chronic and 2001, so you could add some of them to the article if you think it would improve the page further. Anyway, Great Work ! - Guerilla In Tha Mist (talk) 13:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

RE: Dr. Dre

Have to say you're right about not putting the Jerome Young thing in the article. However I have to say i don't think it's coatrack material, rather that I should Stay on topic. Coatrack's a nice essay but I feel a bit insulted by you referring me to it, especially when i only made a suggestion. Try to be more careful with it in future. Thanks. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I noticed what Guerilla in the Mist said here and i've placed the samples on the Dr. Dre article. If you don't think it's suitable please remove them. Thanks. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 19:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah: Sorry to make a dick of myself about the coatrack thing but i'm glad you got what i meant. Recommending a GA pass for the article now. I'll try to get the reference from the book too. It's always much easier to cite books than linking random webpages which will likely disappear. I foresee a time when someone will be going round fixing broken, 10 year old links and linking to the Way Back Machine! More exciting wiki clean up work... Sillyfolkboy (talk) 02:13, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Just want to say thanks for all the work you've put into the Dre article. I'm a big fan of his music myself and it pleases me to see a good article on him. Here's to hoping that Detox is finally released this year! Sillyfolkboy (talk) 01:53, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:E40.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:E40.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:E40.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, you might be interested in this. Regards, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry about it, it took me some time to become acquainted with wiki's myriad of license tags. Rule of thumb for flickr images is that the only licenses that may be uploaded are {{cc-by-2.0}} and {{cc-by-sa-2.0}}. Best of luck to you when you have some more time to waste :) ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle clarification

Hey, I've noticed your recent edit, where you identified a user's edit as vandalism, through Twinkle. Does it consitute vandalism if he adds certain unsourced information? Or is it something default with Twinkle? Reply on my talk page please. Cheers. σмgнgσмg(talk) 05:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the clarification. σмgнgσмg(talk) 11:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Conservapedia (June 2008)

Hi Andrewlp1991 - about the edit on Conservepia, [1] After a short discussion on talk:Coservipedia and some time to think about it you were correct about your edit. If you want to remove it, help yourself. Take care... Dinkytown (talk) 20:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I completely agree that none of the ways I worded the statement about critic's views on Conservapedia were completely neutral; I think that is entirely justified because the critics were not entirely neutral, and the presentation of viewpoints held by verifiable sources is entirely consistent with WP:NPOV, regardless of whether that viewpoint is neutral or not. So long as we also present viewpoints that support Conservapedia, the article remains neutral. We, as editors, are (correctly) not allowed to write our own viewpoints into the articles or attempt to delete viewpoints found in verifiable sources. I'm still concerned that some of those sources don't call out specific factual errors in Conservapedia; as we had been discussing in the talk page, I think we need to make sure our sources verify the statements in the article very explicitly. An article that considers Conservapedia biased or simply laughable has not necessarily supported the claim that it has factual errors. It's subtle, but I believe that getting the subtleties right on this article is important. Oneforlogic (talk) 13:26, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Cold War

Soulja Boy

Hey,I saw that you put on the talk page of this article that you were gonna request a move for it. When you request the move, please make sure to request that it be moved to "Soulja Boy Tell 'em",not "Soulja Boy Tell 'Em". Thanks! ILikeMusicaLot (talk) 01:43, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Because "em" is an abbreviation for "them",but the "e" comes after the 1st letter. ILikeMusicaLot (talk) 01:56, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
It's not Wikipedia's fault that those sources don't know proper grammar. ILikeMusicaLot (talk) 02:00, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Final deal: Default title will use lower "e", redirects use "E".--Andrewlp1991 (talk) 03:56, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Michael Jackson

Hi, you commented at a previous FA review of the Michael Jackson article. Currently the article is at peer review and I will be renominating the article for FA at some point soon. I would really love to know what your opinion is of the articles quality now, either at the PR, the article talk page or even my talk page. The current PR hasn't drawn much attention so I'm in real need of feedback. I hope you can contribute an opinion to this article. Thank you, regards. — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 17:50, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Cheers ;-) — Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 01:49, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Physical appearance, health and diet of Michael Jackson the vote was to keep, now hopefully I can get back to the Jackson article, thank you for your support regarding that deletion nomination. — Realist2 (Speak) 19:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Conservapedia (July 2008)

Congratulations on your conservapedia clean up attempt. I think that some are being reverted? Better luck next time. TheresaWilson (talk) 05:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Haha, thanks. No one wants to get in trouble with "User:Aschlafly"!!! So I'm trying as hard as possible to avoid "liberal bias" in my edits. Anyways, I was just about to update the EOBIW (short for the Examples of Bias page title that's so long) page to update on Wikipedia's epic battle over including tabloid allegations in the John Edwards article, but it's 1:00 AM Eastern time now (curfew has begun!), so I gotta wait till tomorrow. Oh well. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 05:15, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
It's his "reason for existence" (EOBIW), so amendments are really closely scrutinised. Best of luck though. TheresaWilson (talk) 05:44, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

For this. But couldn't an AFD, resulting in a snowball close get it deleted quicker? 203.11.167.2 (talk) 06:09, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually PROD goes before AFD. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 06:13, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah, yes, I see it now. Thanks. 203.11.167.2 (talk) 06:15, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Fat Joe Mixtape: The Crack Era (up for deletion)

I have made a discussion for the article if you want to take a look at it . Your talk on my page mentions the deletion may be stopped if the prod date is removed are you suggesting I do this?

Smush123 (talk) 16:57, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

I understand now and have replied to your reply in the The Crack Era talk page. And thank you for the warm welcome. I'd be happy to help with Wikipedia content but haven't a clue what to add. As for what I use it for I can already find pages about.

Smush123 (talk) 19:51, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

I deleted the release dates from the article just now to make it more of a reference than anything. Or would it be possible for me to mention the mixtape in the main Fat Joe page as a small sentence?

Smush123 (talk) 19:59, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

A short sentence on the main Fat Joe article would be OK, but the problem is that there's very little written about that mixtape, so that should be enough --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 20:02, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Help proposing deletion on articles

Hi, I was reading up on the rapper Cuban Link when I found the article to contain details about an album that went unreleased. The whole article has no sources. I think the biography should stay just not the details and track listing on the 24K album since it was never released. I would of proposed the deletion myself, but since the unreleased album information is on the main page I don't know how to do it without deleting the entire page. So I thought it was best to ask someone who might know. Smush123 (talk) 15:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

I removed all the speculative info about '24K - actually the information is still "hidden" within the source code but just not visible to most viewers. Test the text-hiding feature for yourself over at Wikipedia:Sandbox - when you're editing, to hide a certain portion of text, select the text then click the button with the red X over the pencil & paper. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 21:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok I will do thank you. But what is the purpose in hiding it instead of just deleting? || Smush123 (talk) 21:21, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
