2020-21 new playoffs
editFor the 2020-21 season the nfl changed their playoff schedules.a 7th seed is accepted, 2nd seed no longer has a bye. The lowest seed still plays vs the 1st seed in the divisional round but the other 2 wild card winners face each other. - Yes. A new bracket must be made. I have no idea how to do it though. Jdavi333 (talk) 16:51, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- Although I initially created Template:12TeamBracket-NFL, I had used Template:Round16 as a basis. I had no part in implementing those re-seeding conditionals that render dotted lines, as described on Template:12TeamBracket-NFL/doc#Re-seeding. The editor who did that is no longer active. I also really had no part in implementing the red/blue coloring scheme, which switches depending on whether the AFC or the NFC is listed first. So until a new 14-team version is made by someone who knows how the previous template works, let's temporarily use Template:Round16 here. Zzyzx11 (talk) 18:18, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

When ready
editWhen this template is ready, then the back bone can be ported over to: Template:14TeamBracket-NFL. Afterwards, future modifications can be made so that it does not need to rely on a 16-team format. Good work. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 10:01, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Protect the Template from Vandalism
editOn January 14, 2021, multiple unregistered users erroneously vandalized the template with final scores up to Super Bowl LV. This is clear and convincing evidence that the page should be semi-protected from vandalism. Sammy Maggio (talk) 21:42, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sammy Maggio, I've requested (temporary) page protection. –Piranha249 23:31, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think in past years it has been semi-protected from the beginning of the playoffs through the Super Bowl. Jdavi333 (talk) 01:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Jdavi333: I tried to notify HJ Mitchell (who protected this page) about this fact, but received no reply as of now. –Piranha249 20:01, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- It's protected for now. We can always re-protect when it expires. Jdavi333 (talk) 21:44, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
