Sorting by date edit

It would be helpful to add the dates of all summits in the same form as for the wartime summits, and to list them in chronological order. GilesW (talk) 20:31, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dating the term edit

Could any one provide the date when the term in this sense began to be used. It is relatively recent, i believe (dating from the 1970s?)Muscovite99 (talk) 21:12, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

heads of state edit

The G7 G8 meetings are of heads of government, not heads of state; in five of the seven eight, these are not the same person. —Tamfang (talk) 20:59, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Correct. For example, the head of state of the UK is Queen Elizabeth, not the Prime Minister.71.109.144.35 (talk) 00:56, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Is it a mistake to say the "2002 South American Summit, Guyaquil" was in 2004? edit

This article says the "2002 South American Summit, Guyaquil" was in "2004". That seems like a mistake to me.71.109.144.35 (talk) 00:58, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Origin of the term edit

I'm looking for more detail on the origin of the term. It is not clear from the current article why the media chose this particular word to describe the cold war meetings.

I found some references to a speech by Winston Churchill containing the quote "parlay at the summit", can anyone knowledgeable comment or expand te article?
