Pobeda is misspelled. edit

Though "Pobeda" and "Pobeida" seem to be used interchangeably, I believe the most correct spelling is "Pobeida", or so says Jane's Fighting Ships: 3rd Edition.

I am new to Wikipedia and would correct the spelling of the title myself if I new how :-/

Lead image edit

Given there's three images of the Pobeda in the article, why is the lead image of a different ship? Adam Cuerden (talk) 11:02, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Because it's the best one that shows the layout of the ship. If you want to swap it out for the bow-on view pic I won't object.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:08, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

There"s an equally good, if not better, actual photo of the Pobeda in Wikipedia Commons (https://commons.m.Wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Russian_battleship_Pobeda_on_the_Kronstadt_roadstead_1901.jpg).

Why not use it instead in the Infobox?

Just curious. 2600:8800:785:1300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 12:49, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Because its copyright status is still uncertain. The various licenses on the photo are spurious.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:23, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Can someone explain why the picture of this Russian ship is flying a British flag? I didn't see anything in the article that suggests it was ever a British ship. Are we sure that we have the right image? -Fogelmatrix (talk) 17:40, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

A minute of your time on the Flags of Russia page would have shown that it's the jack of the Russian Navy.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:45, 12 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
