Lede addition edit

In 2007, Jetton called for the criminalization of "deviate sexual intercourse." In December 2009, Jetton was arrested for allegedly drugging and assaulting his mistress after engaging in sadomasochistic sexual activity. Bearian (talk) 03:38, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for adding the reference about gay sex. Yes, he's a hypocrite. However I don't think it deserves second graf in the story - especially since the graph is taken out of context. I fleshed out his stance. He's only been charged in the case and not convicted so there's BLP issues. Getting a conviction in a case like this could be difficult given the circumstances. The prosecutors are clearly implying that he date raped her but they can't prove it. Americasroof (talk) 15:58, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
How was the gay sex information taken out of context? --Joe Jarvis (user, talk) 20:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I did not delete the section. It actually adds a lot. The deviant sex quote was not in its entireity. I've tried to give details of the case and let the readers make up their own minds. Many of the other additions gave no details on the case but rather immediately jumped to the conclusion of the hypocrisy. I started the Missouri House Speaker article and have done several bios (but did not initially do this one since there was info here. Missouri House Speaker is probably the most indicted position in the state usually for influence peddling. But I've never seen a case quite like this one. Deletion of material possibly added by Jetton edit

I deleted much of the material that looks like it could only have been added by Jetton years ago (e.g., appearance in high school play and interest in track) since I can't find references for it. It might be worthwhile if somebody can track it down. My edits were here.Americasroof (talk) 11:51, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
