Loong

I intend to create a page for Loong, Bendigo's heritage listed imperial dragon that is believed to be the oldest in the world. However, at the moment ((Loong)) links to Loong and not the red link page I intend to write. I would appreciate help making this work with disambiguations and whatnot. Help greatly appreciated. I read somewhere that if you think something needs a page you should put a red link up about it, ie say I thought the tame mudlark that visits me at work deserved a page I'd put somewhere on the Bendigo page, little Claude the mudlark is beloved of the town. You can use this link to edit the redirect: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Loong&action=edit The thing here is that loong is a term for a Chinese dragon, and you want to write about a specific one. So its like trying to edit the Dragon article. Then the question is whether a reader is going to expect an article about the generic Chinese dragon, or the specific one at Bendigo? In this situation you can also use a disambiguator eg Loong (dragon), which should show as a red link. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:37, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Loong is a version of the phonetic spelling of the Cantonese pronunciation of 龍 I was told it was a spelling used in neither pinyin nor wade giles which is interesting. After being told that I was surprised to find that loong linked to the Chinese dragon page. Obviously that spelling is in wider use than my colleague believed. I was hoping I could make Loong link to a disambiguation page where the reader will have the choice to go to the page about Loong the processional dragon or the generic Chinese dragon page. Would those writing the collections section please add citation links to related articles, books, and webpages in order to substantiate information given; otherwise, there is a good chance the page will be up for speedy deletion again. These are suggestions to keep it from being deleted (some editors are very quick to recommend speedy deletion in Wikipedia):

1) Stop whatever you are doing and start adding citations to what you have so far. Without citing 3rd party sources, the article is ripe for deletion. You cannot use yourself or a personal interview with somebody you know as a source to be cited reliably. If you do have access to pamphlets that you have written, that would be a fine source to cite until you find other sources.

2) For anything else you plan to write, start practicing writing it in your sandbox. You can save it and add citations there as you find them before you make it go live on the Wikipedia page. The article looks in depth as it is now, so you do not need to worry about the length of the article or the notability if the museum, but you do need citations in order to protect your article from being deleted, because it is mostly unsourced. I know this form experience having been in the path of the dangerous editor Qworty. If you are too new to have kown about Qworty, below is a list of articles about his downfall:
