Golden Dragon Museum edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Golden Dragon Museum, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.goldendragonmuseum.org. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Golden Dragon Museum edit

A tag has been placed on Golden Dragon Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Bendigo workshops 2013 edit

Can you help? Wikimedia Australia will be holding an introductory training day for editing Wikipedia and related projects. With support from La Trobe University and Bendigo Community Health Services, it is for health information professionals across the region. It will also be open to other information community groups as well (regional historic societies, librarians and the like). The workshop is on Thursday, February 21, at Latrobe University Bendigo. If you can help, please contact Leighblackall or Peterdownunder, or register directly at the Wikimedia page.Peterdownunder (talk) 23:26, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Golden Dragon Museum edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Golden Dragon Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Alexf(talk) 11:45, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

History of Chinese in Australia edit

I have moved Talk:History of Chinese in Australia to User talk:Sir Langan/sandbox. We should not have talk pages without articles; in fact that's a speedy deletion criterion. If you want to invite others to collaborate on a draft, my suggestion would be to leave a note at the corresponding WikiProject talk pages, say WT:WikiProject Australia. The {{help me}} template is meant for specific questions about editing Wikipedia; the vast majority of the people you summon with that template would not be able to help with a topic that requires specialized non-Wikipedia knowledge. Huon (talk) 14:29, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Understood for that bit. The other thing I wanted help with was on whether or not I can use the text from articles I've had published in magazines? Can I plagiarize myself?Sir Langan (talk) 23:59, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
That depends on who owns the copyright. If the magazines own the copyright, then you cannot use that text. If you own it and your contracts with the magazines allow, you can release that content under a free license so that everybody may re-use and modify it for any purpose, including commercial purposes; that's the kind of license Wikipedia requires. See also WP:Donating copyrighted content. It will often be easier to simply rewrite the content than to bother with licensing. You may also want to have a look at WP:SELFCITE. Disambiguation link notification for September 26 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited History of Chinese in Australia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ararat (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
