Suburb of the Week/Fortnight edit

@Viatori, @An aggressive and ambiguous amphibian's absurd and adaptable anagram alarmed all ants, @CatbethePage, @Seat456, @GraziePrego, @Frey Lockyer and @Rohanmcmaster:

Hello everyone! I am wishing to gauge opinions about the possibilities of starting a collaboration of the week-type project for this WikiProject. Called "Suburb of the Week" or "Suburb of the Fortnight", depending on whether you all think it would be better to do this weekly or fortnightly, I was thinking that we could all work on one suburb of Bendigo each week/fortnight, with the initial intention of promoting that article from Stub-class to Start-class.

So... should we do this weekly or fortnightly? Should we do it at all? How do we decide on the suburb for that week/fortnight? By voting? Would anyone bother voting?

Please can you all take the time to respond below. Kind regards, Lotsw73 (talk) 12:57, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think fortnighlty works well. Maybe we should make a calendar, we have a set one each fortnight so we don't have to worry about voting every week? We can start with all of the suburbs, then move to outlying towns and finally localities. Descending order of population might be the best option to work through it? Hi @Viatori, I agree with all these suggestions you have made. I will wait a few more days for (hopefully) more responses. Even if others agree with Viatori, please say so here. Thanks, Lotsw73 (talk) 03:00, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
In the mean time, I'll make a page Wikipedia:WikiProject Bendigo/Suburb of the Fortnight with a table including all the dates, pages and information, hopefully I can complete it by Monday, depending on fast I can get through all of my homework first haha. I've talked to a few other members in person as well and they seem to be on board with it, although I'm not sure how much they will be able to contribute. @Viatori: Great, I'm glad they're onboard. If you could create that page then that would be very helpful, but don't stress about finishing it by then if you have other things to do. I'll be happy to help edit it once it's published. All the best, Lotsw73 (talk) 05:58, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
On second thoughts, I am going to move that page to Wikipedia:WikiProject Bendigo/Location of the Fortnight. That way it can encompass suburbs, outlying towns and localities. Lotsw73 (talk) 00:27, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Me again... I think a good date to start Location of the Fortnight would be 1 March, as it gives us all time to prepare. Lotsw73 (talk) 05:28, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Outcome edit

Since there have been no other ideas put forth, we will begin "Location of the Week" on 1 March, using the Wikipedia page Wikipedia:WikiProject Bendigo/Location of the Fortnight. I will place a link to this page on the main project page for easy access. Make sure to check in each fortnight to see which location we will be focusing on! Thanks, Lotsw73 (talk) 05:41, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
