Epoches edit

I put links to the Epoches so people can read further on them. I don't know if the Imperial Age and the Industrial Age exits, for I could not find any Wikipedia articles on them. I know we are in the Digital Age now, but thier is no Wikipedia article on it. I bought this game a few days ago and loved it (after I tried the trial version). I tried the trial version of the original Empire Earth, but did not like it much. --Admiral Roo July 8, 2005 17:59 (UTC)

I know you put the ages in, I read them once, but now, a month, later I go to look at them again and the're not there! What happened?!?

I restored the info

Mad Doc Software edit

Can someone please create an article on Mad Doc Software, so that the links to Mad Doc in this website wont be red anymore. I will appreciate that guy who will do this.

Feedback on the Game edit

There doesn't seem to be a fair representation of the critisism for this game. I don't own it myself, but from what I've seen on the forums, the majority of people were disappointed in it. The section that covers this area seems very gentle on the game, and quite upbeat, almost as if it was written by Mad Doc themselves. I'm not saying we should be portraying it really badly, but it doesn't seem quite reflective of the general feedback the game has been getting. Richard001 07:46, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

The fact of the matter is that this is seen as a 'good' game by the majority of the gaming media, it doesn't matter what a bunch of fan-boys on various forums think.

Cheats edit

At the beginning of the cheats section it said this:

"Despite what it say's on the EE II box, that new AI technology stops enemies from cheating, there are cheat codes in Empire Earth II."

The statement seems to be implying that the box says that cheats are not allowed. The person who has added this does not understand the statement.

The AI in Empire Earth original was very poor - arguably one of the games weakest points. What this is saying is that the AI no longer cheats. An AI that cheats, which is what the default AI did in EE, basically get unlimited resources and is thus able to make buildings, train units etc very quickly and 'rush' the human player. It is unfair that the AI does this, because the human starts with a small amount of resources and has to gather their own. It also means that raiding the enemy is somewhat ineffective, because the CPU player doesn't rely much on its citizens to gather resources, when it can get them automatically. This was necessary however, because an AI that doesn't cheat (which can be created in the scenario editor) is pathetically weak.

What Mad Doc are saying here is that the AI no longer depends on cheats to win in the sequel EE2, and the player will get a fairer game playing against them, as they will be on more equal terms. Since this statement has nothing to do with the game cheats themselves, I've edited it out.

I have also taken out the line "Cheats are recommended only to be used only in a scenario that is hard for players."

Personally, I despise cheaters, though it is up to them when and where they want to cheat. For this reason I disliked the fact that they made cheats able to be locked in custom made levels in EE (like the default campaigns, for example). I still use them myself, e.g. when I am desperately stuck and need to see the map to find out whether a scenario is actually playable, or finding the last few units I have to kill scattered across a giant map. Another example is taking screenshots to post on a forum; you need the fog of war off to get a nice screenshot, especially when you don't want to play half the scenario to get to a certain area. The fact that EE2 allows you to use cheats in any scenario seems like a good thing to me, though the fact that you have to type a cheat just to cheat seems a bit redundant.

But getting back on topic - I don't think this is a good statement to make about cheating. If a scenario is too hard, the player should play on a lower difficulty, read the hints, think it out, build up their skill etc. Cheating to beat a level really ruins the experience of it. Scenario Editor edit

There needs to be a section on this. One thing also of importance here is the fact that triggers were not made for EE2, instead scripts were used (without documentation on how to use them, for some time, as well), like in Rise of Nations. This has been received poorly, and many designers have gone back to EE original, with only a small number of simple scenarios being made in the EE2 editor. Overall Tone edit

I think that this article sounds way to much like a commercial than an encyclopedia entry. For example, it says "For those of you who are planning to buy EE II or is about to play the game this is what we, the ones who help create and improve this article:

Good Luck and may God be with you in your conquests!"

Most of the article needs to cleaned up. Anyone else agree? Spizzma 17:49, 24 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I might clean it up a bit, but I'm too lazy at the momment. I'll just tag it for clean up. - XX55XX 20:02, 6 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The article has been cleaned up. edit

The "you's" have been replaced with "the player" and the article has been wikified. I don't have this game, abeit having the original, so can someone verify what I have typed? Especially in the Epoch's section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by XX55XX (talkcontribs)

If this article has been cleaned up, then why is the clean up template still on the page? InGenX 10:19, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Details about units edit

This article should not have all of the details about the units and powers. It is a violation of WP:NOT. Wikipedia is not a game guide. Nate 21:11, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely correct. Someone ought to delete all of them. Maybe if it isn't done soon, I'll do it, but it would be best if someone that made it did it.-Hairchrm 18:45, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Historical Inaccuracies edit

All civilizations have the Panzer AND Sherman tanks. They have the B-17 AND Me-262. This should be mentioned. 59.183.157.1 18:11, 22 June 2007 (UTC) Vader1941Reply

Do you have a reference from a published work mentioning these historical inaccuracies? Because Wikipedia does not allow original research (I agree with you though, there are many problems).--Clyde (talk) 18:19, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cheat Codes edit

Should it contain some cheat codes? Uzumaki Dude 03:39, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

...No, none at all. --Blackguards_Light (talk) 15:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Territories edit

Is it worth mentioning in the gameplay section that the map is divided into territories which are capturable and doing so provides benefits to the player who possesses them? I think it is worthwhile to briefly mention it seeing as it is a new addition to the game series. TheTrojanHought (talk) 12:40, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
