Lewis County Discussion

edit
  • Hey James and Weird!

I'm an editor who's focused on Lewis County and wanted to add in my views here - please let me know if this should be placed on the Talk page instead - but seeing as how the list is in a conversational style, I'm starting here.

Sorry to see Ceres go. I have several sources that explain Ceres' history in more detail and had I logged in maybe I could have prevented that. I'm going to ask the admin, Liz, to maybe upload it to a user draft page for me so I can work on it.

As for Bositfort and Forest - same as Ceres - I've been compiling secondary and some primary sources for a couple years that go into detail about both towns/communities. Evidently they were hopping back in the day, especially Boistfort which began one of the first school districts in the region; the Boistfort High School and its student body are a big part of the LC school system. In present day, both towns are residential communities and people who live in Forest (or reporting from the area) tend to describe it as either a neighborhood or town. I suggest using the local news source, the Centralia Chronicle (chronline.com) to verify for now and hold off on any further action.

I'd ask we not jump to deletion immediately. While I don't have a ton of free time to devote myself exclusively to the three town articles, there shouldn't be a rush to remove the knowledge of these places, either.

Excellent work tracking all this stuff down. Very impressive!

An article deleted by prod can be protested at anytime, in this case you can request an undelete, no reason required. Liz will be able to direct you on that. I don't think anybody will mind you doing what you can with it. Don't put alot of effort in though unless you have quality sources because it could get redeleted. The person who did the PROD would have done their best to find sources online. I'll split this out from the state, into a Lewis county bin and let you work on it. Lets do keep these more expansive chats on the talk page though. And keep this to comments specific to the places. James.folsom (talk) 22:57, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Shortiefourten I fleshed out Lewis county and moved it to its own page. I put our discussion here on its talk page. James.folsom (talk) 01:59, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
