Trivia/Cultural References edit

I was considering jumping in to work on episode pages, since in my opinion, many of them could use some work. But I hesitate because I am not sure how to handle the "cultural references" and/or "trivia" sections that make up a major part of most of the episode pages. I personally think that they are valuable sections to have (although not all the information in them should necessarily stay), as satire and parody are part of the foundation of The Simpsons, and I think it's relevant to make note of how the episodes relate to the greater culture in ways which might be awkward in the middle of a plot synopsis. That said, I also understand the perspective of the Wikipedians who point out that trivia sections aren't appropriate for an encyclopedia article. I think the two perspectives could be balanced, but I wanted to hear the input of established members of the project before I jump in and start "being bold". No trivia - cultural references only if cited. See the some 40+ episode GAs/FAs for more advice, for example A Streetcar Named Marge. Gran2 21:18, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
