Rugby culture

edit

I started writing a rugby league culture article but most of what i wrote would be more suitable for a Rugby Culture article. It consists of only two sections at the moment, but i would think it could be added with "Rugby Shirt" from the rugby shirt article and what is on the current rugby football article. Shall i keep going with it? Also note, the Masculine section will get a re-work, its very (too) league aligned at the moment. POds 04:54, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The culture in both forms in very similar and I think it would be better to be named simply as Rugby culture. Keep on going on with it. It's looking good. I also noted that Rugby ball redirects to Rugby football, even though there is nothing about the ball itself in the article. There should be enough info for Rugby ball to have its own article. I think i've noticed that myself before. Certainly enough info. POds 11:37, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Steve Rogers

edit

With the untimely death of Steve Rogers (rugby league footballer), should we be looking at expanding the article? Rogerthat 01:26, 3 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Gareth Dean

edit

Someone has {{prod}}ed the Gareth Dean (of Wales RL and the Celtic Crusaders) article. It's a bit stubby, and some more references would be nice. Can someone from this project give this article some TLC ? Thanks, Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Gentlemen:

I am a disambiguator. I find a disambiguation page and look at all links to it, and then change them to link to the correct page instead. I usually pick a dab page from the top of the current "dabs in need of help" list, and simply go to work.

I picked "Rugby." The page had 193 links to it when I started. I "fixed" most of them. It was only near the end of my efforts that I stumbled across the rugby portal.

Two issues:

  • We need to merge Rugby football into Portal:Rugby. For now, I'm adding a link to the portal from the dab page.
  • during my (perhaps mis-directed) efforts, I shifted a very large number of links from "Rugby" to "Rugby football." I now realize that I should have asked for expert help: many of those should have pointed at either Rugby league or Rugby union.

In my defense, I did at least correctly fix the links to Rugby, Warwickshire, Rugby railway station, and Rugby School, and perhaps 10% of the links to union or league, but I now feel that most of the links that I made to Rugby football should be further refined. -Arch dude 01:13, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I suggest you post this message to the Union and League projects respectively. The head project is inactive. GizzaChat © 01:23, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Day Awards

edit

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 19:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
