Discussion of the Wikipedia Takes Philadelphia project photo list edit

Here is a list of photos I already have on my hard drive.--DThomsen8 (talk) 13:15, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

South Street edit

Rittenhouse Square edit

Avenue of the Arts (South Broad Street) edit

North Philadelphia edit

(Only include locations walking distance from the Subways)

I will add some targets to the overall list today. Please tell me here or on my talk page how we will decide to remove targets from the overall list. Obviously, Palumbo's must be removed, but perhaps someone can find an archive photo somewhere. Since I uploaded the photo and added it to the article on April 1, 2009, the New Century Guild should also be removed.--DThomsen8 (talk) 13:15, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

DThomsen8, I see that you've removed some of these from the list. if you're going to remove them (and this project is delayed until the fall), please go ahead and upload those photos. Thanks. --Mblumber (talk) 03:22, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Interior pictures edit

I am sorry that I did not specify this before, but due to licensing and permission constraints, the only pictures to be included in the Wiki Takes Philadelphia event in October will be exterior pictures. With that said I'm going to leave the lists of artwork on here; they might be handled by later events at the Art Museum and other places like that. --Mblumber (talk) 02:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Addresses for photos? edit

Should there be addresses for all the photos requested, or do we leave the addresses off in some cases as more of a challenge for participants? Obviously, participants who know Philadelphia well will have an advantage if the addresses are not given. Of course, in some cases, the article itself does not give an exact address. That is something that I like to remedy when I come across it, especially for historic buildings of interest to tourists. --DThomsen8 (talk) 16:12, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

National Register of Historic Places edit

Philadelphia has 522 places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but only 121 have pictures. Could the remaining 401 — or at least some of them — be added to the list? Go to National Register of Historic Places listings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and click on the various pages linked from the table in the middle of the page to find lists of sites. Even if there's no article on a building yet, the photo can be used at the list of sites. Nyttend (talk) 01:49, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
