Genetic disorder category edit

If I see it well, a big part of Genetic disorder articles should be in the congenital genetic disorders' category. NCurse   work 11:59, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think you are correct - I've been wondering about that, and I think it applies to most of them... Perhaps "Gulf War syndrome" is an acquired genetic disorder, and some of Category:Radiation effects. See also Category_talk:Genetic_disorders and Category talk:Congenital genetic disorders. --apers0n 12:29, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

But, to be honest, Congenital genetic disorder should be merged into Genetic disorders. I understand that not all types of genetic disorders manifest early after birth (see Huntigton's disease), but the mutated gene or condition is inherited in both cases. Article rating edit

The progress grading scheme and the Article Alert Status appear to be doing the same thing, I wonder if we need both? --apers0n 05:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure I understand. You mean the template and the table are the same? NCurse work 10:50, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I understand you now. We've worked so much with the article rating, but this list is much better and updated by a bot. When we're ready with the rating, we should change to that list. NCurse work 08:42, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I guess we are using the bot updated table now? Should put a note on the article - I nearly manually edited it Leevanjackson 18:32, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, thanks for the suggestion. I put a short note right now. NCurse work 17:54, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good articles edit

We have plenty of great articles, borderline FA articles. I think we should nominate them to become good articles. What do you think? In the first table, you can find at least 5 of them. NCurse work 10:50, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good idea - it would be good to start improving the article ratings as well as grading them. --apers0n 18:09, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
But what do you think about our list? (section above) It's not necessaire to keep this one if the other is much better. NCurse work 18:14, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Let's change to the new list. --apers0n 09:02, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Animal genetic disorders edit

Lethal white syndrome is a genetic disorder of horses. Do we include this in the project and in the Category:Genetic disorders? --apers0n 09:02, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No. It's part of veterinary medicine. It needs a new category. NCurse work 14:55, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Who rates articles? edit

This may be a bit of a newbie question, but who rates the articles and how does one go about recommending an upgrade of status for a given article? Medical geneticist (talk) 02:22, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Simple answer, anyone in the project, but advisable to get a second opinion to get to A rating ... I think ;) LeeVJ (talk) 23:06, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
