Final Section

edit

@Baffle gab1978: Looking at the final section of the previous year's report, titled "Closing thoughts", it's really only the first two paragraphs that need changing, for a similar section to be placed in this year's report:

  • Thank outgoing coordinators <yourself> (and possibly mention your continuing extensive help with coordinators' duties) and User:Zippybonzo, as well as welcome User:Wracking as new coordinator.
  • Explain that the position of lead coordinator is more or less a pro forma appointment, as the present holder is not the most experienced of the coordinators (I don't think that anyone has served more terms than User:Miniapolis). Or we don't have to explain that, other than that the lack of a lead coordinator no longer obtains.

Thanks for making this happen!

I'd love to see more focus on trends in # of articles edited, # of words in them, and # of editors participating. Just looking at the backlog is not encouraging (to say the least). Lfstevens (talk) 20:51, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Lfstevens:, thanks for the feedback. I think analyzing the Drive and Blitz data would be a lot of work, though the data are recorded on the barnstar pages so it's possible, and I might look into it. Having more people willing to help out with writing the newsletters and reports would be nice. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
There's a fair amount of the data you mention, lower down, in prose form, although somewhat haphazardly put (e.g. word counts not listed for all drives, order of data inconsistent). And, of course, not in easy-to-digest tabular and chart form, such as is the total backlog. Is that what you're looking for, for it to be made more prominent? That would take some work, and Baffle is the one doing almost all of the statistics-keeping, at this point. Dhtwiki (talk) 05:00, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
