I am new to Wikipedia, and need help in setting up a sandbox. I submitted a page and it was "speedy deleted" I am a Thai lady. We use Wikipedia often in writing university English papers. Now I would like to write a page about a religious leader who has offices here in Thailand. Thank you. Sawasdee Ka Jackie-thai (talk) 06:42, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
As I see it I am way below a minimum base level in trying to get any material onto Wikipedia, with the result that even the help sections are no help at all as they assume a level of competence I don't yet have.
Nothing makes any sense. Even this posting is probably is the wrong place in the wrong way, so sorry, anyone.
But it would be useful to know how and where jpg's could be posted for evaluation and discussion without actually publishing them. I know there are reams of copyright restrictions, most of which are unintelligle to me, and so I felt it would be useful to offer them for disucssion of the hopes that someone with more knowledge might, if they were felt worthy of publication, be able to guide me through all the tortuous processes Songhouse (talk) 17:13, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Help with Subpage
editHi,
I was suggested to make a subpage (where I can work on my page) for the "László Marton" article. I have no idea where to satrt or how to do it, although I read the information about it!!!
Help is very much appreciated!
Thank you!DvornicsekDvornicsek (talk) 14:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Dvornicsek! I created the page for you: User:Dvornicsek/László Marton. You can work on the article there. It's easy to create subpages; you just need to add some text to the address bar in your internet browser. For example, when you're viewing your user talk page, you will see that the end of the address is "User_talk:Dvornicsek". After that, you just type a / and the name of the subpage, and then press return, and it will take you to the empty page. Then you click on the "create" tab, write some text, and then save.
- You can keep track of the subpages you've created by clicking on "My contributions" (top right), scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking on the link that says, "Subpages". That will show you a list of your created user sub pages.
- Hope that helps, let me know if you need anything else! Maedin\talk 14:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
RfCs in userspace
editRelevant discussion taking place at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion#RfCs in userspace. Question was posed by User:Casliber: "...have we ever discussed how long is a reasonable amount of time to develop and/or leave a made-up-and-loaded RfC in one's userspace before it should be by rights deleted as an attack page? (i.e. "put-up-or-shut-up" rule?)" thanks, IZAK (talk) 22:16, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
I would like to post an article or a page or whatever it is called but there are no directions just sites that send you to other sites. All I want to do is post something to Wikipedia? Can't be that difficult can it?Lucycushing (talk) 18:23, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Could someone make me a subpage so I could start on an atricle. Lucycushing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucycushing (talk • contribs) 18:25, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Critics to Wang Experiment
editThe Wang experiment :1) Wang generalizes Sagnac and Fizeau , but he uses max. speeds 70 times inferior to F. and 30 times less than the minimum-one of S.; 2) the F. ' generarization (proposed by W.) seems indipendent from the refraction index , showed always to modifie the answers of moving matter ; 3) F. had already showed that the ligth ' speed could not surpass 300.000 km.s.; W uses an optic fiber ( semplifing : some moving mirrors ) and , if the ligth ' speed cannot change , it was clear that the phase should change exactly in proportion to the effective used velocity , like showed by W ; 4) in S all was moving , in W source and detector are fixed ; 5) in F the quantity of matter crossed by ligth (at the detector) was changing with the speed , in W is fixed (but moving ) ; 6) W could arrive to same numbers , measuring the external movements ; 7) W speaks to measure the nanometers , but he says nothing about the lock-in ; 8) in W it is hard to see relations with the absolute motion ' challenge ( S had to use the sideral time and W ?) Often Physical Revew edits what 'Nature' and 'Science' don't edit .))188.153.133.187 (talk) 15:09, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
