Protest songs edit

There are plenty more out there. Selery (talk) 21:36, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've added these two songs to the meta page (see below) and will encourage Selery to add more there or here. Swliv (talk) 21:49, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Duplication edit

We seem to have multiple lists of media coverage - this one, and the one on meta at meta:English Wikipedia anti-SOPA blackout/Media (created so that it could be updated during the blackout). I've been working on updating the one on meta; I see others have been updating the list here in parallel. Can we merge the lists together - and which place would be best, here or meta? Thanks. I've merged the list to meta, since that seems to be the best place for international coverage (since the issue was covered in multiple languages and countries). Mike Peel (talk) 21:19, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Drawbacks/thoughts. Wikipedia contributors have to figure out what meta is; links created here/log in don't work there; edit history is buried. Will meta show up in Wikip. searches? The outreach on the issue was all around Wikip.; will this "result" end up sequestered in meta? That's a first reaction. My second contact with meta; didn't "cross over" then, not sure I will now either.
Here's what I was going to do to one Jan. 18 entry (I would recommend cutting the Jan. 25 entry -- this combines the two; and I would link to M'Watch Wikip. if poss. -- it's an RMurdoch outlet):
Sure - it's not ideal - but it's better to have just one list. ;-) and the one that appeared to be being kept up-to-date (excluding my edits) was the meta one rather than this one. The edit histories were never going to be able to be merged. :-( You can link to meta from here using [[:meta:Page]] - and from meta to here via [[:en:Page]]. Your user account should work on meta as well as here (Single User Login's great). Searching here won't show up the page on meta - but google should find both, and there's links here to help people find the page. The step between here and meta isn't too big, hopefully (I'm certainly aware of even bigger steps in Wikimedia, e.g. to outreach: - and miss the days when it could all be centralised on somewhere like meta...)
The expanded summary of the article looks great, much better than the simple link! Please add it to the page. :-) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 17:24, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the good explanations. Good intro. I was still sort of reluctant but ... did create an account over there and do the upgrade; plus the songs above. We'll see; so far so good. Cheers. Swliv (talk) 21:49, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
