Link to Cafepress banned
editI got a blacklist-message when I tried to insert the links to the Wikipedia page at Cafepress found at Meta:Wikimedia merchandise. Couldn't this page justify being an exception? After all, it is our project that profits from it. Mikael Häggström (talk) 17:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've requested at MediaWiki talk:Spam-whitelist#Cafepress.com. Hopefully correctly phrased and placed :) -- Quiddity (talk) 19:54, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- Seems very all right. It should be possible to temporarily lift the blacklisting for just this one. Anyhow, thanks! Mikael Häggström (talk) 04:41, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's still banned to have correct link and current link is to some crappy old page. I had to search to find the correct one. It's banned on the talk page too. HOWEVER, I see Wikipedia is about to do it's own store, so hopefully the link to that will work!! CarolMooreDC (talk) 16:29, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Good news! I'm looking forward to see that store. Mikael Häggström (talk) 17:44, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Posters
editThe French Wikipedia links to a site to purchase posters, from each image page. Here's a link to the archived Signpost story about it: Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-01-03/News and notes#French Wikipedia uses image pages to sell posters. Just for future reference, in case anyone else was looking for it :) -- Quiddity (talk) 21:47, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting idea. As CafePress with posters as well. I didn't find the link on that image page however - perhaps I didn't look close enough, or have it perhaps been abandoned? Mikael Häggström (talk) 05:12, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Still there: [1] just above the top-right of the image, "Obtenir un poster de cette image". I haven't checked around the seller's site though, and the one page I went to had what looked like a database error message... *shrugs* -- Quiddity (talk) 05:53, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Found it! =-) Mikael Häggström (talk) 10:15, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, a WP poster is a great idea. Even though I spend more time contributing to WP than doing anything else (including talking with my wife), I'm always worried I'll forget to do it. A poster would be a good reminder… Maybe a Wiki-tized version of the Uncle Sam poster, where a serious-looking WP-globe-headed figure points a finger at me and says, "I want YOU to edit WP". – AndyFielding (talk) 09:46, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
Merchandise suggestions
editA Wikipedia ball (possibly one of those which have flashing lights when you bounce them).
Versions of the '15 puzzle' (where tiles are slid around in a tray) and/or Rubik's Cube using the letters on the WP globe. The advantage is 'every single arrangement is correct.' Jackiespeel (talk) 15:21, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- I want a t-shirt that says, "I edit Wikipedia—but I have a life, too, really". – AndyFielding (talk) 09:39, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
