Thanks to those who organized this, and to The Wing for the hospitality. The collection of sources on this page was a great idea, which addressed an issue beginners often find particularly hard. There are a couple of things that could be improved:

  1. Why, of all the possible things users can do, focus on creating new Biographies of living persons? This sent the wrong message, since those are the kind of articles Wikipedia already is inundated with, and which consequently are under an especially high threat of being deleted, as our experience proved. Since the Wing Luke Museum is to a large part a historical museum, it would have been much more appropriate to focus on historical topics. In preparation, it would have been good - maybe in collaboration with museum staff - to look at existing coverage relevant to the museum, and teach how to improve it.
  2. I don't see the rationale for teaching the creation of new articles. It is always easier to spot faults in existing work than to come up with something one is happy with by oneself. An example for articles within the scope of the museum that would have been great to improve is the one for the first Chinese Settler in Seattle, Chin Chun Hock (version during the event).
  3. It would have been good if we had used this talk page as a communication hub, and had instructed everyone add it to their watchlist. I spent considerable time finding out participants' user names, just so I could provide them with links. Since finding the article on the Wing Luke Museum is easier than finding this page, we could have simply put a link to this page there.

I only now realize that there is a section for Articles that might be expanded or improved; which partially addresses my concern. But that leads me to further suggestions:

  1. Have a neat box at the top of this page with suggested articles and links to their details.
  2. Put the details on the same page. It's very unusual to have non-talk information on a talk page, and having to switch between the pages was confusing for some users.

Oh, and finally: :

  1. Invite participants to provide feedback. Aside from its direct use, it also would be a great opportunity to practice editing in a safe environment.
