Event Organizer edit

Who is organizing this? I'm a current student and am trying to figure out who's organizing the event, but can't find any information. I'd like to collaborate in future. Upjav (talk) 21:25, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Upjav: Hi there! I'm coordinating this event with staff at the Special Collections and Research Center (SCRC) in Regenstein Library. I'm glad to hear you're interested in helping organize future events. You should probably get in touch with Ashley Gosselar (Processing Archivist) or Julia Gardener (Head of Reader Services) at the SCRC, who I've been in contact with about the current event. The SCRC's contact information can be found here. Thanks, I, JethroBT drop me a line 16:16, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Photo ID and pass registration edit

@Mareklug, Buster7, Czar, and Qazwiz: Hey folks! Thanks for your interest in the event. The Special Collections staff has informed me that we'll need to register for day passes for the library and therefore need to bring a photo ID to obtain one (at no cost, of course). Check out this new info here. See you all soon, I, JethroBT drop me a line 18:20, 9 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and I'm also told there will be pizza from Medici on 57th. :) I, JethroBT drop me a line 18:47, 9 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Wikimedia NYC approves of this culinary choice, go Cubbies!--Pharos (talk) 20:11, 9 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Possibly related NYC Jazz event edit

If the Chicago Jazz Archive is going to be a part of this, then perhaps we could coordinate some collaboration with Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/WomenOfJazz, which will be later on May 30.--Pharos (talk) 20:32, 11 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Pharos: Interesting! Thanks for bringing this up. I added that archive in as just one example of the resources that are available through the Special Collections Research Center. I'll look through the archive prior to the event and see what topics we can work on together. If we start any biographies or topics related to women in jazz, I'll certainly alert the coordinators. :) I, JethroBT drop me a line 06:27, 12 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thank You, Jethro, for holding this event. It was very stimulating being able to work with the actual reference documents rather than just images on a screen. Also, thanks for the many tips you shared on making the editing process easier and more enjoyable. Your presentation stimulated my urge to hold some "Become a WP Editor" tyle event at my local library. IO'll be in touch. . Buster Seven Talk 20:03, 16 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
