Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates/The Battle of Alexander at Issus/archive1

Comment. Alt text done; thanks. Alt text is mostly present (thanks) but has a few problems:

  • File:Albrecht Altdorfer 037.jpg lacks alt text.
  • The alt text for File:BattleofIssus333BC-mosaic-detail1.jpg doesn't do justice to that image. I'd mention the Medusa breastplate, the wavy dark hair, and the determined look.
  • The alt text "A military diagram" is too terse; it should briefly say what the map says, excluding info in the caption, to avoid repetition. Topics might include the location of Parmanian, Orientals, Greeks, and Darius. Please see WP:ALT#Maps for a guideline.
  • The alt text for File:BattleofIssusDetail11.jpg should briefly mention the most striking part of that image, namely the fluttering reddish drapery. Or perhaps the drapery should be cropped out, if it's not relevant?

Multiple authors not correctly cited in short citations.
Please name them. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:55, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
For example, "Sacks, David; Murray, Oswyn; Bunson, Margaret (1997)." is cited as "Sacks, p. 14" when it should be cited as "Sacks; Murray; Bunston, p. 14", this is true of other multiple author works in your short cites (Corvisier, André; Childs, John (1994). Hagen, Rose-Marie; Hagen, Rainer (2003). Hanawalt, Barbara; Kobialka, Michal (2000). Heckel, Waldemar; Yardley, John (2004). Janson, Horst W.; Janson, Anthony F. Romm, James S.; Mensch, Pamela (2005). ) Fifelfoo (talk) 11:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
