Should page- and namespace-blocks be used instead of full blocks? I say yes
The purpose of a block is not to punish, but to prevent harm.
Now that we have page- and namespace- blocks, I don't see any reason to impose a full block on someone who edit-wars. In most cases, a single-page block or article-space block is enough. In more difficult cases, a block that allows editing in Wikipedia: and Wikipedia talk: namespaces and the user's own talk page is enough. In some cases of course a full block will be needed but that should NOT be the default. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:07, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
