Wikipedia talk:Article Feedback Tool/Version 5/Video

Great video and idea

edit

At first didn't realise I could play it as the splash screen for the video is way to confusing for most. Once the video is started however it's great. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 22:34, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

The feedback field does not exist in all articles

edit

Something that is not mentioned in the video is that the feedback field is (currently?) only available in some of the articles. When I watched the video, I got the impression that it was available in all articles, and was mildly confused when I first couldn't find it in any of the articles I was looking for it in. —Kri (talk) 13:11, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's a good point - I'll link the author to this discussion, see if he has time to add a caveat :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 14:33, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks.
Besides from that, the video was great. —Kri (talk) 22:46, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! What do you think of the tool? Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:04, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think this is exactly the point I was going to make, though in the case of this 'mini-article' on the feedback mechanism itself. I have often resorted to the Talk tab for this kind of purpose, but this new approach seems to be better. Often I have commented on questions I had hoped the article would have addressed or aspects that seemed misleading, and this seems to be a good way for both. So for my next (old) suggestion, how about that colorized paired view, especially between languages? Shanen (talk) 02:42, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Can you explain what you mean in a bit more detail, please? :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:53, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi value but needs work

edit

This kind of feedback and contribution encouragement is so important - awesome! But gosh the pages look so busy, confusing and slow to understand and use! Too much reading, clicking, switching, scrolling, - the important stuff doesn't stand out. Please run this through some usability test and get this designed for people with extremely short attention span. Try to be as good as stackoverflow! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.113.44 (talk) 06:57, 11 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
