Summary edit

The workshop aims to equip its participants with the rudiments of contributing to Wikipedia, and to introduce Wikipedia as an encyclopaedia and a concept to them. The workshop is free of cost and open to all.

About the workshop edit

The three-hour workshop covers the basics of Wikipedia in theory and practice. There will be a demo of editing Wikipedia pages, a hands-on Wikipedia editing session, and a questions and answers round.

Important information edit

  • As the workshop involves hands-on learning about editing Wikipedia, participants are required to bring along a laptop, netbook, or tablet.
  • We are using the English-language Wikipedia to instruct participants. If you don't have an account already, register on Wikipedia using the Create account link before you attend the workshop.
  • Free Wi-Fi is available at the venue but you are strongly advised to bring a data card/ mobile Internet dongle along.

Learned to know about history of Wikipedia and enjoyed the presentation. Learned about the basic editing of wikipedia, and due to my prior commitment, can't able to attend the full editing session by Rohini. -- Mohsin2710 (talk) 10:10, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
