Wikipedia Takes Columbus: Photography Event; April 9 - April 16; Facebook Event Page

Our second annual Wikipedia Takes Columbus photography event is underway! This is a fun week-long event (April 9 - 16) where we upload photos of Columbus and Ohio State to the Wikimedia Commons and help illustrate our city on Wikipedia.
- Scavenger hunt tonight! In place of our weekly workshop, we'll be going around campus to photograph. We'll be meeting at our normal room at 5:30, distributing checklists and snacks, and then heading out. Cameras and smartphones alike are welcome for taking pictures; or just feel free to tag along!
- Prize update: We'll be giving a Wikipedia language water bottle + notebook to the following two people:
  - Whoever takes the photos of the most unillustrated Ohio State campus buildings (refer to Draft:List of buildings at Ohio State University).
  - Whoever illustrates the most Wikipedia articles with their uploaded images.
We're participating in The 50,000 Challenge! The aim is to make 50,000 article improvements and creations for the United States, and we're only ~2.55% done. Be sure to sign up if you're interested.

In addition to photos and images, the Wikimedia Commons hosts freely licensed videos, sounds, documents, and more.
