This course examines the materials, means, and methods of building design, construction, maintenance, and alteration, with particular attention to how they have evolved in North America from the period of colonial settlement to the present. Students will add to or improve one relevant Wikipedia article as a final project.

Everyone has begun writing their article drafts.
- Assignment - Start drafting your contributions

By the end of the assignment, your contributions should meet the following goals:
- Improvements to existing articles: add 3,000 to 5,000 bytes, including at least two new citations
- New articles: 5,000 to 8,000 bytes, including at least three citations

Every student has finished reviewing their assigned articles, making sure that every article has been reviewed.
- Assignment - Respond to your peer review and begin moving your work to Wikipedia
You probably have some feedback from other students and possibly other Wikipedians. Consider their suggestions, decide whether it makes your work more accurate and complete, and edit your draft to make those changes.
After you've improved your draft based on others' feedback, it's time to move your work live - to the "mainspace."

Exercise
Now's the time to revisit your text, refine your work, and format your article to match Wikipedia's tone and standards. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media. Remember to contact your Wikipedia Expert at any time if you need further help!
