The course examines the global sustainable seafood movement. It focuses on the role of non-state actors and civil society campaigns to reform capture fisheries and to combat overfishing, destructive fishing practices, human rights violations and the killing of marine wildlife by fishing gears through seafood awareness, eco-certification, supply chain traceability and accountability measures.
