From the course syllabus: Evolution informs all aspects of biology because all pathways, processes, and body structures have come about due to evolutionary processes. Thus, this course strives to strengthen your understanding of evolution by examining the mechanisms of evolution and providing an overview of evolutionary biology topics that are relevant to many research disciplines. Students will utilize primary literature (historical and recent) throughout the course and be asked to critically evaluate evolutionary theory and research. Students will also practice communicating evolutionary biology topics through in-class presentations and Wikipedia article contributions on a topic related to evolutionary biology.
