Survey of Earth’s climate and the factors that influence it. Examines natural and human causes of past and recent observed changes in temperatures and other climatic variables, possible impacts of ongoing and expected future human emissions of greenhouse gases on ecosystems and society, and possibilities to avert dangerous climate changes. Offered annually, three lectures per week. This is a Baccalaureate Core Synthesis Course in Science, Technology, and Society.
