Upon completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Identify the major groups of Protozoa and invertebrates
  2. Relate structure to function and life history
  3. Explain the evolutionary relationships of the groups studied
  4. Understand how phylogenetic relationships serve as the basis for classification
  5. Understand the processes of reproduction and development in each major group of invertebrates and how these processes relate to the ecology of specific groups
  6. Evaluate environmental, economic, and human health impacts (positive or negative) that various invertebrates might have on people from different societies, cultures, or populations.
