We have started writing a selection of templates to try to make your life easier, and give WikiProject Worcestershire a common face. You've probably used a template already - it's anything enclosed in double curly-brackets {{ }} that automatically expands on the page to do something useful.

These are pretty new, so may be buggy. If you know what you're doing, or feel confident, don't hesitate to edit them. But remember, templates are transcluded onto lots of pages, so when you edit a template you are potentially changing a lot of pages.

Article talk page template edit

 Worcestershire NA‑class
This article is within the scope of WikiProject Worcestershire, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of Worcestershire-related articles on Wikipedia. If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the discussion and see a list of open tasks.
NAThis article has been rated as NA-class on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.

All entries of Worcestershire towns and villages should have the above template placed on their talk pages. A list of categories whose articles should be tagged is available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Worcestershire#Categories. Add the template by placing {{WikiProject Worcestershire|class = |importance =}} at the top of the talk page. Sometimes, you will see a UK geography WikiProject template already there; in these cases, add our template after theirs.

You can flag the page as needing help by adding |attention=yes, |needs-refs=yes, |needs-photo=yes or |needs-infobox=yes at the end of the template. Thus, a page in real trouble might be flagged {{WikiProject Worcestershire|class=stub | importance=high | attention=yes | needs-refs=yes | needs-photo=yes | needs-infobox=yes }}, producing:

 Worcestershire NA‑class High‑importance

This article has been marked as needing an infobox.

This article lacks sufficient references and/or adequate inline citations

This article needs a picture or pictures to improve its quality.

This will (hopefully) inspire you to go and fix it. Once you've added all the missing parts, remember to edit the template to remove the flags. After your fine work, you will probably want to re-assess the article at the same time.

A useful feature of this template is that it automatically adds the article to the Worcestershire category. Also, when you flag articles as needing some attention they are automatically added to appropriate categories, making them much easier for other editors to find:

For more details about using this template, see here.

Project userbox edit

We also have three userboxes available for you to add to your user page:

This user is a participant in
WikiProject Worcestershire.
 This user lives in Worcestershire.
 This user is from Worcestershire.

You can add these to your homepage using {{User WikiProject Worcestershire}}, {{User from Worcestershire}} or {{User Worcestershire}}. To see a working example, have a look here.

New members edit

If someone new signs up to the Worcestershire project, send them a quick welcome by adding {{Wikiproject Worcestershire welcome}} to their talk page, which they will see as:

Or if you keep finding the same name on Worcestershire articles, invite them to join by adding {{Wikiproject Worcestershire invite}} to their talk page, which will produce:

On both banners, the first WikiProject Worcestershire will be automatically replaced by the editors name.
