Blog post highlights student's work edit
University of California at Berkeley undergraduate Kevin Gorman created his Wikipedia user account in conjunction with the Public Policy Initiative for the "Politics of Piracy" class he's taking this spring. In addition to the work he's done for class, Kevin has become an active Wikipedia contributor, both in content creation for mushroom articles and as someone who patrols new articles to ensure they meet Wikipedia's policies. Teaching with Wikipedia at Thursday conference edit
Wikipedia's use as a teaching tool will be the focus of a pre-conference workshop on Thursday at the Computers and Writing conference at the University of Michigan. Campus Ambassador Adrianne Wadewitz and Wikimedia Foundation Education Programs Manager Rod Dunican will lead a half-day workshop on the benefits of teaching with Wikipedia. Learn more.
Spring students make final edits to Wikipedia articles edit
Students participating in the spring term of the Public Policy Initiative are making their final edits to the articles they worked on for class this term. More than 600 students participated across the 33 classes this term, and as the end of the term winds down, the students are putting the finishing touches on their articles. Regional Ambassadors selected, start work edit
Ten new Wikipedia Regional Ambassadors have been selected and are getting started on their new duties. An integral part in the Ambassador program's transition from a staff-run initiative to a volunteer-led program, Regional Ambassadors are responsible for recruiting new professors and Ambassadors in 12 regions across the United States.
